Role

Lei Shen is a mage assassin, who can specialize in great single-target damage, or spreading his damage between multiple targets. Lei Shen generates electricity by moving, which he then spends to cast his spells. He must keep moving in a fight to keep his source of electricity from drying up, and so he finds himself especially weak to crowd control effects like roots and stuns. Additionally, Lei Shen likes to move along with his opponents, staying within critical range of them to maximize damage output, and so proper positioning is extremely important in playing him well. His choice of heroic abilities allows him to either fight from a longer distance by planting multiple Lightning Rods on the battlefield, or improving his dps while up close, and zoning out the enemy team.

Passive

Instead of using mana, Lei Shen uses electricity.

Lei Shen can hold up to 100 electricity at once, and generates 10 electricity per second, but only while moving.

Active

Cooldown: 1 second
Overcharge consumes all of Lei Shen's remaining electricity

Store electricity to cause your next spell to deal an additional +1% damage for each point of electricity stored.

You may only have 1 charge of Overcharge stored at a time. Using Overcharge while still storing electricity will overwrite the first charge of Overcharge.

Primary Abilities

[Q] - Diffusion Chain
Electricity: 60
Cooldown: 2 seconds

Fire a bolt of lightning at the targeted enemy, dealing 234 (+4% per level) damage. 0.5 seconds later, a bolt of electricity arcs from the target back to Lei Shen, then back to another enemy in range, (prioritizing heroes) dealing 50% of the damage of the first bolt.

The Lightning will continue arcing between Lei Shen and nearby enemies as long as Lei Shen remains in range of a viable target, or until 3 enemies have been damage by Diffusion Chain.

Each arc deals 50% of the previous arc's damage. Diffusion Chain will not target the same enemy twice in a row.

Lightning Rod: Diffusion Chain can arc to Lei Shen's Lightning Rod as though it were Lei Shen.

[W] - Static Shock
Electricity: 50
Cooldown: 4 seconds

After a 1.5 second channel, call down lightning to deal 834 (+4% per level) damage split evenly among all enemies in the targeted area. Each enemy cannot take more than 33% of Static Shock's full damage.
Lei Shen cannot move while channeling.

Lightning Rod: If your Lightning Rod was caught in the blast, a second Static Shock is immediately cast on top of the Lightning Rod. The second Static Shock will not trigger Lightning Rod.

[E] - Lightning Rod
Cooldown: 8 seconds
(Cooldown starts when Lightning Rod despawns)

Place a Lightning Rod at the target location, providing additional utility to your other spells.

Lightning Rod consumes 5 electricity every second it persists. Lightning despawns when you run out of electricity.
Activate Lightning Rod again to force it to despawn.

Lightning Rod does not consume overcharge.

Lei Shen's axe persists at the location of its landing for 10 seconds, and has all the properties of Lei Shen's Lightning Rod, but does not drain electricity.

[R] - Bouncing Bolts
Electricity: 60
Cooldown: 75 seconds

Summon 3 balls of electricity that bounce away from Lei Shen. One ball bounces in the targeted direction, and the other two will bounce at 30 degree angles to the center ball, on either side of it.

Every enemy hit by a Bouncing Bolt takes 462 (+4% per level) damage.

Lightning Rod: If one of your Bouncing Bolts hits your lightning Rod, it splits into 3 Bouncing Bolts.

Level 1 Talents


Energy Conduit (+Q)

Diffusion Chain can damage the same enemy multiple times in a row.
Diffusion Chain now prioritizes previously damaged heroes.


Excess Energy (+Q)

Diffusion Chain refunds 10 electricity every time it deals damage past the first.


Anvil Lightning (+W)

Increase Static Shock's radius by 30%.


Field of Power (+E)

Lightning Rod does not drain electricity while you stay near it.

Level 4 Talents


Living Conduit (+D)

Your basic attacks now consume electricity stored with Overcharge to deal an additional 3 (+4% per level) damage for each point of electricity it consumes.


Discharge (+Q)

Each arc of Diffusion Chain deals 65% of the last arc's damage instead of 50%.


Stormfront (+W)

Increases Static Shock's damage to Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters by 50%.


Convection (+E)

Lightning Rod doesn't drain electricity while you are disabled.

Level 7 Talents


Power Surge (+Q)

Enemies damaged twice by the same cast of Diffusion Chain are stunned for 1.5 seconds.


Fulmination (+W)

Static Shock blinds all enemy heroes it damages for 2 seconds.


Static Friction (+E)

Your Lightning Rod slows enemies near it by 20%.

Level 10 Talents


Thunderstruck

Electricity: 30
Cooldown: 45 seconds

Throw Lei Shen's axe to the target location, dealing 286 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies in the area.
Lei Shen's axe persists at the location of its landing for 10 seconds, and has all the properties of Lei Shen's Lightning Rod, but does not drain electricity.


Bouncing Bolts

Electricity: 60
Cooldown: 75 seconds

When Static Shock deals damage to 2 or fewer enemies, refund 20 electricity and reduce Static Shock's cooldown by 2 seconds.

Level 16 Talents


Aftershock (+Q)

When you spend a fully charged Overcharge on Diffusion Chain, it will hit an additional enemy.
The additional arc will deal damage equal to the first arc.


Call the Tempest (+W)

When you spend a fully charged Overcharge on Static Shock, refund 30 electricity and reset Static Shock's cooldown.


Cumulonimbus (+W)

While channeling Static Shock, storm clouds appear in the targeted area, slowing all enemies in the area by 15%.

Level 20 Talents


Lightning Strikes Twice

Reduce Thunderstruck's cooldown by 15 seconds and Thunderstruck gains an additional charge.
Only available with the Thunderstruck talent at level 10.


Static Build-Up

When an enemy takes damage from Bouncing Bolts, they are rooted for 2 seconds.
Only available with the Bouncing Bolts talent at level 10.


Shield Dynamo (Active)

Cooldown: 60 seconds

Consume electricity stored with Overcharge to gain a shield that absorbs 10 damage for each point of electricity consumed.


Bolt of the Storm (Active)

Cooldown: 70 seconds

Activate to teleport to a nearby location.
