Morgl

The Oracle

The first Shaman Warrior Hero, Murloc Warrior Hero, AND Hearthstone Hero for Heroes of the Storm! My idea for Morgl is a unique Warrior that rides a Totem Golem into battle, casting spells while letting the big guy take hits for him. His primary function is peeling for his weaker allies, since he is too immobile to serve as a reliable frontline tank. His crowd control works best on enemies that aren't focusing on getting away from him, since his only crowd control ability that doesn't rely on enemies being within the Golem's aura only lasts 0.75 seconds. If an enemy is focused on battling an ally and tries to ignore Morgl, they'll find themselves on the receiving end of some pretty devastating crowd control.

Combat Trait

Totem Golem
Morgl rides on top of a Totem Golem, and attacks with a ranged basic attack. The player controls the Golem directly and chooses what the Golem targets with its melee attacks with the "1" key. If the Golem's health (represented by a brown bar on Morgl's health bar) runs out, it falls apart and leaves Morgl on his own. The Murloc Shaman is not helpless, however, as he can still cast his abilities. After the cooldown on this trait finishes, it can be activated to summon a new Totem Golem.

The cooldown for this trait is reduced by 1 seconds whenever one of Morgl's abilities damage an enemy Hero (maximum 5 seconds per ability cast).

Additionally, the Totem Golem has a persistent aura around him at all times that interacts with Morgl's abilities.

Primary Abilities

Stormcrack
Call down a bolt of lightning from the sky, dealing damage in a small area after a brief delay.

Enemies that are damaged by this ability become Charged. If they enter the Totem Golem's aura while Charged, they will be damaged a second time and stunned for 0.5 seconds.

Enemies cannot become Charged while the Totem Golem is destroyed.

Cooldown: 6 Seconds
Cost: 50 Mana

Lava Burst
Cause the ground within the Totem Golem's aura to explode with molten rock, dealing damage and creating Scorched Earth. For 3 seconds, the Totem Golem burns the ground in his aura, spreading the Scorched Earth, which deals slight damage to enemies and slows their movement speed by 15%.

While the Golem is unavailable, Lava Shock is cast instead, a similar ability that makes molten rock explode from the ground in a targeted area, leaving behind Scorched Earth that slowly spreads out over 3 seconds.

Cooldown: 12 Seconds
Cost: 65 Mana

Hex
Polymorphs enemies in an area around Morgl into frogs, rendering them unable to attack, slowing them, and silencing them for 0.75 seconds.

Hexed enemies that enter the Totem Golem's aura have the duration of the Hex extended by 0.25 seconds, to a maximum of 2 seconds.

Cooldown: 16 Seconds
Cost: 75 Mana

Heroic Abilities

Primal Fusion
Summon four additional Totems that fuse into the Totem Golem, massively buffing its health, aura radius, attacking and movement speed, and basic attack damage for 12 seconds.

Cooldown: 65 Seconds
Cost: 80 Mana

Elemental Destruction
Abandon your current Totem Golem, making it go dormant as electrical energy builds within it. After a delay, the Totem Golem explodes, damaging and knocking back all enemies in the area. Enemies that collide with terrain are additionally stunned.

A new Totem Golem can be instantly summoned once the explosion occurs.

Cooldown: 90 Seconds
Cost: 100 Mana

Special Mount

Pop Goes the Murloc
After a short channel, teleport to a target location on the map within this ability's range. Upon arriving, summon your Totem Golem at the new location if you had one. Taking damage stops the channel and puts the ability on a 5 second cooldown.

Channel Time: 3.5 Seconds
Cooldown: 60 Seconds

Talents

Level 1



* Block: Self-explanatory.

* Regeneration Master: Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Globe increases your Health Regeneration by 1 per second, up to 30. Reward: After gathering 30 Regeneration Globes, your Totem Golem also gains 600 Health.

* Tag Team: If your Totem Golem attacks the same target as you within 3 seconds, then you deal bonus damage.

* Shock and Awe: Quest: Every time Stormcrack damages a hero, increase its damage by 5, up to 125. Reward: After hitting 25 Heroes, increase the damage of Stormcrack by 75 and the radius by 50%.

Level 4



* Hot Feet: Increases the slow effect on Lava Burst from 15% to 25%.

* Getting Warmed Up: The movement speed bonus from Lava Burst increases the longer you stay on Scorched Earth.

* Incinerating Eruption: The initial blast from Lava Burst deals more damage and has a wider area.

* Ribbit Resonance: Every enemy affected by Hex reduces its cooldown by 1 Second.

Level 7



* Totemic Call: Reduces the cooldown of Totem Golem by 15 seconds.

* Toad Struck By Lightning: Hexing an enemy also Charges them as if they were struck by Stormcrack.

* Elements Unbound: Whenever you cast a spell, increase the attack speed of the Totem Golem by 15% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.

Level 10 (Heroics)



* See above.

Level 13



* Burning Rage: Deal 23 damage per second to nearby enemies.

* Molten Armor: Gain Resistant while standing on Scorched Earth.

* StormCrackle: Increases the stun duration of Stormcrack by 0.5 seconds.

Level 16



* Dampen Magic: Upon taking Ability Damage, reduce that damage and further Ability Damage by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Can only trigger once every 8 seconds.

* Nigh Unpoppable: Pop Goes the Murloc's range is increased by 50% and can no longer be interrupted by taking damage.

* Lightning Storm: Stormcrack gains an additional charge. Enemies cannot be Charged more than once every 6 seconds by Stormcrack.

Level 20



* Totemic Might: Heroic Upgrade to Primal Fusion. If this ability is off cooldown while there is no Totem Golem on the field, activating this ability will summon a new one and buff it.

* Overload: Heroic Upgrade to Elemental Destruction. Decreases the charge time and increases the radius by 35%.

* Hardened Shield: Activate to reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds.

* Stoneclaw Blessing: Activate to target a friendly hero. Any damage they take for 5 seconds is instead inflicted onto the Totem Golem.

Literally the moment I published my version of Morgl and checked the list this was there. Awesome to see more love for the Shaman Oracle!

Haha nice. Yeah, I'd totally love if a new Murloc got added to HotS, especially one with as much potential as Morgl the Oracle!
