Shalewing

The Unmoving

Brought from the frozen north by the armies of the Lich King, these strange, wiry flyers have rough hides which protect them from harm. In times of great peril gargoyles can land and condense their crystalline skin into a stone-like surface to make themselves nearly impervious to any forms of attacks. Though they are unable to attack in this state, they can take time to regenerate their wounds and replenish their energies.

Shalewing is a ranged assassin that uses his abilities to poke the back line of his enemies from a distance. He is very fragile and must rely on his trait, Grim Idol, to protect himself in times of danger.

Combat Trait

1
Grim Idol
Activate to root yourself in place, preventing you from doing any other actions but providing you with a shield equal to 100% of your maximum health. In addition your health and mana regeneration is increased by 200%. Lasts until canceled or your shield is destroyed. 30 second cooldown.

Cancelling Grim Idol leaves a statue of Shalewing at that location. Maximum 2 statues.

Statues cannot be destroyed by enemies.

Primary Abilities

1
Howl
(Skillshot) Fire a narrow arc of sound that damages enemies as it passes through them. 8 second cooldown.

The width of Howl is increased for the remainder of the skillshot for each enemy it passes through; 5% per minion, 10% per hero.
2
Eclipse
Illuminate a large target area with moonlight before a shadow begins to move across it, gradually blacking out the area. Enemies within the shadow of Eclipse take 25% more damage from Shalewing. Lasts 5 seconds, filling in completely over 4 seconds. 15 second cooldown.

The shadow of Eclipse fills in from the side that Shalewing is on.
3
Phantom
Rise up into the air, becoming invulnerable for 1 second. 15 second cooldown.

When Phantom ends you gain 40% movement speed for 2 seconds while you glide back to the ground. Shalewing can pass over obstacles while in the air.

Heroic Abilities

1
Grotesque
Become a monument to horror itself, slowing and reducing the damage of nearby enemies by 50%. Lasts 5 seconds. 40 second cooldown.

Grotesque can only be cast while in Grim Idol.
2
Night Terror
(Skillshot) Silence an enemy hero and root them in place. Once an enemy is under the effect of Night Terror, Shalewing begins to move towards them at 50% movement speed. If Shalewing reaches the target they are dealt damage that increases based on the distance Shalewing traveled. 80 second cooldown.

Night Terror is cancelled if Shalewing uses another ability.

During Night Terror the target can only see Shalewing and themself.

Special Mount

1
Inhabit Statue
After a 2 second channel, teleport to the target statue. 30 second cooldown.

Cannot be used while already within a statue. Cannot be canceled.

Talents

Level 1:
Saronite Hide: Increase the shield provided by Grim Idol to 135% of your maximum health.
Haunt: Howl can be cast within Grim Idol.
Lunar Phases: Picking up a health globe while you have an active Eclipse permanently increases your health regeneration by 3 per second.

Level 4:
Total Eclipse: Eclipse fills in 100% faster.
Pitch Black: Increase the damage bonus provided by Eclipse to 35%.
Occult Vision: Casting Inhabit Statue immediately reveals a wide area around the target statue. In addition, Inhabit Statue can now be canceled.

Level 7:

Effigy: The cooldown of Grim Idol is reduced to 25 seconds and you can have 1 additional statue.
The Witching Hour: Eclipse can now be cast during Grim Idol. While in Grim Idol within the radius of Eclipse, Shalewing's damage increases by 5% every second. This bonus damage lasts 10 seconds.
Wraith: Increase the duration of the invulnerability provided by Phantom to 1.5 seconds and the speed increase to 3 seconds.
Bat Out Of Hell: The cooldown of Phantom is reset if the shield provided by Grim Idol is destroyed.

Level 10:
See above section.

Level 13:
Boogie Man: Enemies that attack you while you are within Grim Idol have their attack speed slowed by 75%.
Shadewing: After staying within Grim Idol for 3 seconds you enter stealth until you take damage, use an ability, or cancel Grim Idol. In addition the increased regeneration provided by Grim Idol is doubled while stealthed.
Wretched Cry: The cooldown of Howl is instantly reset if it hits three or more heroes. Cannot occur twice in a row.

Level 16:
Hollow Call: After reaching maximum range Howl will return back along the same path it traveled.

Desecrate: The cooldown of Inhabit Statue is reduced by 5 seconds for each active statue.

Level 20:
Uncanny: Enemies affected by Grotesque will carry a smaller version of the aura with them until Grotesque expires. This aura is 50% as effective, but stacks with the original aura.

Into Darkness:
The range of Night Terror is increased by 25% and its effect is reversed, causing the target to instead move towards Shalewing at 75% movement speed.

Fright Night:
Increase your ability range and damage by 10% for each active statue.
Eternal Night: Increase the size of Eclipse by 200%, and its duration is increased by 1 second for each enemy hero within its initial cast radius.

Nice concept as always. Do you think you can make one for a frost wyrm too?

I'm sure one could make an interesting hero, but nobody would give it the time of day because Arthas already summons Sindragosa as an ult. Don't really want to spend a bunch of hours on a concept to have it dismissed immediately after posting it.

I made one myself. Though it's for Sapphiron and not Sindra.

This is pretty cool, actually. And Horror-Film esque, but that's not important. Abilities are nice, do cool things, and seem fitting(Basically everything important). The talents make the abilities do some pretty cool things as well(Haunt is amusing), although, the odd requirement on Lunar Phases is.. Strange. Interesting, but still strange. I'm actually not sure if I'd play this hero, although that's mostly because their not my style(High-risk high-reward heroes interest me the most.). Seems like a good concept, though. (^_^)

Thanks! To your point about Lunar Phases: I wanted to give him a "Regeneration Master" like talent since his trait increases health regeneration, but I wanted to make it more thematic and tie it to Eclipse like many of his other interactions.
