Name says it all Top

This is a build solely focused on making her dragon breath talent do as much damage as possible, as far away from people as possible, and it's fun :)

Talents Top

Tier 1 - Deep Breathing

Now this talent takes a bit of time to complete, but upon completion really pays out, giving an extra 200 damage to your dragon breath talent and sight radius by 100%. The sight may not seem like much but it'll make sense later in the build.

Tier 2 - Enveloping Assault

So you can hit more people, makes it easier to hit them too, and allows her to push a lane much more easily.

Tier 3 - Mobius Loop

Reduces the Mana cost and cool down by 50%
This means she can shoot out more of these things in the same amount of time and she basically never runs out of mana after this. It does have a draw back which is reducing the damage by 25%, but given that you can shoot 2 of these in the time it takes other wise to shoot one, 25% damage reduction on one basically means that you get 150% of the original damage if it lands on both in the time it would've taken to shoot one, have I lost you?

The other option would be to take Dragon's Eye if you really wanted to burst someone down with one attack as it will give deal 125% damage to the enemies in the centre, but this would require some skill and getting used to, plus you can't use it to push lanes as effectively any more. It doesn't mean it's not pickable, just that it should be for people who are confident that the Dragon breath will hit an enemy in the centre for the extra damage. This is also aided by our previous talent pick, Enveloping Assault, which increases the radius of dragon's breath, which increases the centre.

Tier 4 - Temporal Loop

I prefer this talent as it lets me lock down the specific location of the target and just combo your abilities over it. An efficient combo is using Temporal Loop, then cast Dragons breath and Sand Blast when the Loop timer gets to the halfway point. Your level 15 talent will effect this as well later on but for now this is what it is.

Slowing sands can also be picked and it has much more utility in compacted team fights, creating an AOE effect that can be used to zone people away or stop them from leaving. It also makes it a bit easier for you to target your dragons breath and sand blast.

Both can Ultimates be picked depending on the situation.

Tier 5 - Reaching Through Time

This is where is gets fun and also where the name for the build comes from. With Reaching through time, you can cast your Dragon Breath without being on you opponents screen, if there screen is centered on them. when centred on chromie the range of Sand Blast and Dragon Breath is off screen. It is so big it can not fit on a zoomed out player's moniter. You get an idea of what I'm getting at?

With this talent, you can hit people like a truck and be so far back that they can't even see you.

Remember The Level one talent, Deep Breathing?
When that hits 25 stack you get 100% increase in your vision, which BTW is so big that if centred on chromie, you have vision of everything on your screen that isn't obstructed by walls etc. So now you have the ability to see people and hit people with bad breath and they have no idea where it's coming from because you are that far away.

Tier 6 - Quantum Overdrive

Gain 10 seconds of ability power increase by 25%. You cast it, then you cast your abilities, simple as that.
Now the good thing about this is that because you picked Mobius Loop, you can cast dragon's breath twice in this ability damage increase window. and the cooldown for Quantum Overdrive starts when it is cast so really you get 10 secs of power than a 20 sec cooldown.

Tier 7 - Andorhal Anomaly

Gives you 3 time traps, cos what would better than one? Three of course.
Now the reason why I pick this instead of Past and Future Me is because this build is concentrated on staying the hell away from people and hitting as much as possible, whether it be from behind your team or on the other side of a wall nice and safely hidden, but the point is many times you don't want to reveal where you are and by using sand blast, you do that.

This does not mean you should not use sand blast at all, it is her only other damage dealing talent with a shorter cooldown than dragons breath, of course you should use it, but in a scenario where you are hidden and you don't want to be found, you wouldn't use it. Which is why I would not take Past and Present me for this particular build but it doesn't mean you can't.

Having 3 time traps also means more survivability on chromie as this build does not contain any abilities such as time out, her equivalent of ice block, or bye bye, her equivalent to falstad flying back to base because it's faster with epic mount than to actually hearth.

So Basically... Top

Tier 1 - Deep Breathing

so if you finish it you can hit for more and see more

Tier 2 - Enveloping Assault

so you can hit more

Tier 3 - Mobius Loop

so you can hit more things more often

Tier 4 - Temporal Loop

So you can shout at the top of your lungs, "YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY... FROM ME??!!?!?..."

Tier 5 - Reaching Through Time

So you don't have to be near people to hit them

Tier 6 - Quantum Overdrive

So you hit much harder

Tier 7 - Andorhal Anomaly

because one time trap wasn't annoying enough isn't enough...

Things to remember when playing chromie Top

  • Practice - the more you play her the better your timings will get
  • Lay down a trap near you before engaging - You have no escapes, at least having that means you can run away a bit
  • You are Fragile - Never forget that she has one of the lowest health pools in the game, a sneeze from diablo could probably kill her, therefore always be aware of where you position her.
  • Quantum Overdrive only affect abilities that are cast after it is cast, so casting dragon breath before quantum does not give it extra damage.
