Introduction: Top

, A massive tank and i don't mean the bang bang shooty kind either. Designed to take quite a hit and keep going Stiches is a beast that doesn't go down easily. He's so amazing they even gave him an iconic alternate costume, HOW ICONIC YOU MAY ASK. Well iconic enough Mortal Kombat made him a fighter. For you younger folk im talking about the man himself Jason Vorhees. Surviving being shot, stabbed, electrocuted burned and even SPACE. That's exactly what this heroes gonna do for you! Excluding the space part Cough cough blizzard make it happen.

Lore, Abercrombie the Embalmer creates Stitches as a "gift" for Lord Ello Ebonlocke, the mayor of Darkshire sending him to terrorize the town.

Pros
    Able to take a hit
Decent damage output for a tank
Pull in escaping heroes or isolating them before a fight

Cons
No real escape till level ten
Has trouble soloing a camp, Takes to long to be efficent

Ability Overview: Top

Trait:
Vile Gas Vile Gas sets off when Stitches is hit with a melee or range attack, includes tower hits. Damaging enemies with poison damage for (X)amount of time, It can be increased with certain skills.

Q Hook Outstanding talent if used properly able to disrupt attacks and pull retreating foes or even split up heroes from a group. Only real downsides if you can't aim this skill can become useless fast also it has a long cool down (16s). Tips for it pay attention to where your opponent is heading and careful of buildings/Walls they will stop your hook. But nothing pays off more then stopping a Nova in the middle of Triple Tap or taking that squishy unit out of the group before the fight starts. Helping hand is now baseline but shares the SAME cool down, also be advised that it will still hook a enemy after throwing your hook even if you're using helping hand.

W Slam Decent damage in a large cone in front of you dealing AOE damage to enemy team or Wave clearing minions/ mercs in a lane.

E Devour Excellent talent for killing off those pesky mages in one hit to steal there sweet sweet health globes. Or even finishing off a low health hero and replenishing a little bit of your own health as well. Giving a nice 20% boost to your health.

R Putrid Bile One of my favorite talents i used to be on the Gorge band wagon until one day accidentally clicking on this beauty. Not only does it help stiches deal with his slow movment/escaping speed, It also causes damage and late game provides the ability to heal. So to recap that (healing/damages/slows opponets/Boost movement speed) Sounds like a buffet of death to me i lean towards this skill 90% of the time.

R Gorge Not a bad skill but to me feels like you need a bit more team coordination for this one. I don't like this one in pick up games because if i go to eat a hero and my team doesn't realize i just picked up a squishy there not gonna focus fire to kill it quickly. So i tend to lean away from this one, but with that being said doesn't mean it doesn't have advantages. Hook a hero standing foolishly close to a gate scoop him with gorge then take him behind lines and watch the towers chew him up. Avoid this on cearting heros of course IE: Illidan since he's able to hop walls Sylvanas would be another one to worry about since shes able to stop towers from attacking she might be able to cause some harm before escaping.

Talents what i choose and why: Top

Level 1

Yes:
Hungry for More With being a tank your key is surviving so why not choose something that would increase your health pool with 30 extra hp per health globe with a total of 900 extra over all. The ten percent movement speed bonus has great synergy with Tenderizer giving you that little extra catch up boost. If you're lacking a healer this is a very important talent your team needs you on the front lines healthy and good to go.

Situational:
Dampen Magic If Block and Spell Shield had an illegitimate love child this would be there baby and man is it one amazing ability. shrugging off 50% off damage from spells in such a short cool down (8's) a must have for any one foolish enough to try a dual mage combo Jaina Kael'thas against the beast that is stitches.

No:
Chew Your Food If it was a 15-20% increase id say maybe, but only ten isn't gonna help long term like Hungry for More will.

No:
Heavy Slam You're a tank your purpose is to take hits not deal them.

Level 4

Yes:
Amplified Healing Doubling up the ability of any healer and providing boosts to healing fountains (close to full health every time) one skill a tank shouldn't pass up.

Situational:
Restorative Fumes If you lack a healer its not a bad talent to pick up, ensure that you spread out your attack for maximum healing potential.

No:
Vile Cleaver Not a terrible skill but if you wanna go with poison you're better off going Putrid ground since the AOE would be more beneficial.

Level 7

Yes:
Savor the Flavor Not much of a boost at first but couple it with the rest of your talents it can really add up.

Situational:
Tenderizer If you find your winning a lot of team fights but your opponent keep getting away with low health id look into getting this, Just hook then a basic attack to help your team get that pesky hero. If your really getting into it don't forget to throw in a "get over here" so they really know you mean business.

No:
Last Bite With the new patch this ability would bring it down to a 5 second cool down as opposed to the old 30 second one. Which is nice but with its medium/high mana cost its to easily spammed causing yourself to be oom in a hurry.

No:
Toxic Gas Good for keeping damage on an opponent as there getting away but unless its coupled with Vile Cleaver or Putrid Ground You can't quite capitalize on the damage it gives.

Level 10

Yes:
Putrid Bile Amazing ultimate whether you're trying to slow down a retreating team or your the one escaping but it really shines at level 20. Just run in front of the enemy team and they'll start to take damage as you body block them in providing time for your team to be a clean up crew.

Situational:
Gorge Another good ultimate but i prefer to use this only during games where i know my team, best strategy scoop up a healer or squishy target and take them outta the fight or even wait till they start there own ultimate for a quick shut down.

Side note Gorge can't be used on massive units this consists of the boss mercenary, Dragon knight, Garden terror and Tychus in his Odin Also the punishers and arch angel/demon. (If there's more notify me and ill update.)

Level 13

Yes:
Relentless Allowing you to get back into the fight 50% faster to make those clutch hooks or those quick slow down attacks. Causing any major crowd control ability's to be less effective.

No:
Mega Smash Making your AOE attack just a little bigger isn't going to do this build much good, avoid getting it.

No:
Indigestion Spawns a weak little green creature that you can't control not much worth at all.

No:
Helping Hand Would not suggest even in coordinated battles, To much of a risk to hook the wrong target or pull an ally unit away during there own clutch play.

Level 16

Yes:
Stoneskin Being a front line unit there gonna need to go through you first so why not slow down that damage down by putting up a big 30% shiel to deal with first., With your massive amount of health and your quick regen you'll be shaking off the blows in no time.

Situational:
Pulverize If you didn't get the tenderizer ability have no fear! Now you have the opportunity to get another slowing trait and this time hitting more then one person.

No:
Fishing Hook The added range is nice but you're taking a big chance with how slow the hook itself moves, if you're really good with hook its worth a look. But if you're average its not worth it.

No:
Shish Kabob To risky with this one you go to hit a healer and next thing ya know you hit Valla and Illidan you'll figure out real quick how you got your name.

Level 20

Yes:
Regenerative Bile Stitches only had a few weakness as we already covered and with this ability there not much of a problem anymore. Not only does it add the ability to now heal himself when he's damaging others but now gets another speed boost! So now your opponents will be helpless as you harass the enemy team by covering them in your amazing filth giving them a little bit of damage over time and healing yourself at the same time.

Situational:
Hardened Shield Huge defensive boost if you see yourself getting focused a lot in battle this one might be worth looking into. Cutting out 75% of the damage being dealt to you as your team quickly nukes your opponents.

No:
Bolt of the Storm Not a bad skill but I feel you can get more use out of regenerative bile. With the 70 second CD makes it a little more hesitant to use, since a tank will be in and out of combat a lot more then most.

No:
Hungry Hungry Stitches Eating more people might sound like a good idea, that is until they all come out and annihilate you. So im against this skill you're taking the enemy team with you just waiting to die.

Game times Top

Early game

In the start of the match you're main goal is to collect as many health globes as you can. If you find yourself laning and low on health use devour on a mage for a quick health globe pick up. If there's a Sgt Hammer on your team Stitches and her can make a deadly duo, with you soaking up the damage and Hammer hitting the towers hard.
Also if there's a Lili they can make a deadly combo as well with her keeping you alive as you waste the towers ammo.

Mid game

With the majority of team fights starting you're gonna wanna start hooking hero's either as they retreat or set yourself up in position to take out a valuable unit. Also try to focus yourself on getting between your team and there's so you can soak up most of the damage, if you find yourself running low on health target a hero for that quick health regen bonus. On certain maps such as the where the garden of terror you're gonna wanna take the terror as not to take away from the teams other ability's.

Late game

Late game stitches is a beast dealing decent damage and taking heavy hits, between chasing down your opponents and hooking them back to your team or forcing there hand to deal with you first late game he really shines with his massive health regen he's nigh unstoppable.
