Lt. Morales Has less mobility than Tyrande. Hunters Mark and CC her.

Cho Hunter's Mark very effective against this beast.
3

3
Rexxar Mediocre champ, not really a threat.
3
Tychus Tychus doesn't have anything on you. Free win.
3
Murky Can scout his egg with owl, and possibly one-shot with late game Ranger owl. Stay in good position so don't get ulted.
3
Sgt. Hammer After she sieges, just combo her with your CC.
4
  No Threat
5
Stitches If you get hooked you are screwed, so don't.
5
Chen Can stun him when he is chugging, but very annoying when he jumps on you.
5
The Butcher If he shoots in on your team, just mark and cc him. He will die fast.
6
E.T.C. Make sure you don't get caught by the Mosh, and have stun ready to interrupt when he does.
6
Kerrigan If she dives in on your team, just hunters mark, stun, and burst.
7
Diablo If he catches you and flips you, you are probably dead.
7
Falstad His range and mobility makes him hard to deal with. Wait for allies to chain CC him.
8
Nova Nova is lame and will one-shot you if you're out of position. Your owl reveals her for 5 seconds.
8
Muradin He is really strong right now. Just try to dodge his stun or you might be dead.
8
Raynor Very strong hero, and usually plays over-aggressive. Try to catch out of position with stun and focus.
8
Illidan Annoying to deal with if he dives you. Hopefully your team will peel. Consider Sprint or Shrink Ray.
8
Zagara Very strong hero in team fights, but squishy with no escapes. Abuse her early on.
8
Valla She is high damage and mobility, but squishy. Main thing is to keep distance and chain CC.
9
Zeratul Don't let him catch you out of position or it's gg.
9
Thrall His 'E' makes it hard to land stun, and if he catches you with his 'W' you are done.
9
Kael'thas He has a lot of damage and range, make sure you are spread out to help with healing chain bombs.
10

My Battlenet name is Malbek#1689 - I am a Rank 1 (currently 3500 mmr) player that mains the support role, with my favorite heroes being Tyrande and Tassadar. I played Heroes of the Storm for a few months during the technical alpha, and then picked the game back up a few months after official release. I started placement matches as soon as I hit lvl 30, was placed at rank 9, and then ranked up to 1 within just a couple days playing. Before HotS I played League of Legends on-and-off for a few years, and DotA for a couple years before that. I am looking to create more content such as guides and videos, and will be streaming w/ commentary soon.

Basic Abilities

Light of Elune (Q)
Mana: 45
Cooldown: 8 seconds

This is Tyrande's signature heal, and one of my favorite in the game. It heals you for a small amount every time you cast it, and heals an ally for significantly more as well if cast on them. Thus, always cast it on an ally (hero or minion) to get full value out of this ability. The extra heal only works on allies, so you get absolutely no bonus by casting it on yourself. It also is instant cast, with no animation involved, so you can use it while in the middle of an auto attack.

Sentinel (W)
Mana: 65
Cooldown: 18 seconds

The owl is a global skill-shot ability that can grant a lot of vision control, while also doing damage. You can use this to interrupt heroes channeling objectives like on Dragon Shire and Cursed Hollow, to reveal enemy stealthed heroes like Nova and Zeratul for 5 seconds, to snipe the enemy Abathur, reveal a large area of the map to gain vision on enemy team or objectives, and many more uses.

Lunar Flare (E)
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 12 seconds

This is a great AoE stun that can be cast from a distance, but is a skill-shot that takes some practice. It can also be predicted and dodged by good players, so it is best not to throw it out randomly. You will get much more value if you combo it with your allies abilities, such as Muradin Storm Bolt or Diablo Overpower. During team fights, it can be used if your team initiates on the enemies. If you get initiated on, or your back line gets dove by enemy assassins, it would probably be best to use for peeling. Like any CC, it can be a great tool for peeling as well. I have some .GIFS uploaded HERE for examples.

Heroic Abilities

Shadowstalk (R)
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 60 seconds

My preferred heroic ability on Tyrande, it grants your whole team stealth and healing for 8 seconds. Can be used in many situations, such as sneaking in on enemies trying to take objective and catching them out of position (Boss, Immortal, etc). Also can be used at the start of the team fight just for the strong AoE heal, and to cover someone with stealth if they need to disengage after taking some burst. It has a fairly short cooldown, so you will probably be able to use it a couple times during team fights.

Starfall (R)
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 100 seconds

The alternate and much less common heroic picked for Tyrande. It provides decent AoE damage and slow, but Shadowstalk is just too good in the current patch. If your team has an abundance of healers and no damage, then this could be a heroic worth looking at.

Combat Trait

Hunter's Mark (D)
Mana: Free
Cooldown: 20 seconds

A very strong trait, causing enemies (Heroes and Bosses/Mercs - not structures) to take 25% extra damage for 4 seconds. If you have a decent team with decent communication, you can use this to set the focus target and burst them down. Works especially well with burst champions, such as Nova and Kael'thas, and is also very effective against Cho Gall and immortal/bosses because of them just being one body.

Top

Celestial Attunement
Situational
Tyrande without a doubt runs into mana troubles, especially if you are the only healer on the team. I would recommend going with this talent if you are not very confident in your mana management, are new to Tyrande, or have problems forgetting to use Hunters mark consistently. It's a solid talent, but if you are a skilled Tyrande player I would actually recommend rangers mark, the next talent on the list.

Ranger's Mark
Recommended
This is my preferred rank 1 talent, primarily because a 14 second Hunter's Mark means you will almost certainly be able to use it multiple times during fights. The extra 25% damage can really make a big difference when you're focusing someone down, so just remember to cast it on your team's focus target. If you are within range, you can cast Lunar Flare on your target then immediately hit Hunter's Mark before the stun even hits the ground.

Seasoned Marksman
Don't Choose
You /can/ build Tyrande for auto attack damage, and it isn't terrible, but you should just play Raynor instead if thats what you are into. Tyrande is too good as a support/utility hero.

Empower
Situational
If you are playing around with an Owl build, this can be a good talent to go with if. However, if you are not good at actually landing your owls, then you will get no value from this talent. Note: Your cooldowns will be reduced multiple times if your owl hits multiple targets with Pierce.

Pierce
Situational
This talent is very good for additional vision control and extra damage if you can land it. I would recommend picking this talent up if you have another support on your team that can help keep your team alive. This talent also combos well with Ranger at level 16, and Empower at level 1.

Focused Attack
Situational
What I said about seasoned marksman applies here as well. Auto attack Tyrande can be fun, but I wouldn't do it regularly. I also recommend Searing Arrows for auto attack damage build, unless you don't feel comfortable with activating it at the right time.

Searing Arrows: 6 auto attacks (1.25 attacks per second) x 50% bonus damage = 300% bonus damage within 5 second duration. (Great burst)

Focused Attack: 4 auto attacks x 75% bonus damage = 300% bonus damage in 30 seconds (worst case scenario - one auto attack every 10 seconds). Or 15 seconds (Best case scenario - one attack every 1.25 seconds). If you think you are not going to get dove and focused in fights, then consider this - But, you are Tyrande, so people want to kill you, which interrupts your auto attack consistency.

Protective Shield
Recommended
This is my go-to talent if I am the solo support on my team. It gives a shield based on their max health, so you will get the most value if you cast it on a tank. Best used to negate some burst damage or to save someone when your heal is on cooldown. It only lasts 5 seconds, so don't use it too early, but make sure it does get used before the burst damage.

Healing Ward
Situational/Not Recommended
I would only consider this if you expect long, drawn-out team fights. These are common when your opponents have low DPS or lack burst damage from Jaina or Nova. Also an okay choice if you have another support on your team picking up Protective Shield or a Tassadar. To get decent value from this talent, make sure you place it where minimum 3 allies will receive the healing, but all 5 preferably. Also place it towards the back so it can't be easily destroyed by the enemies. 90% of the time though, I would recommend either Protective Shield or Pierce before this.

Searing Arrows
Situational
If you want to play around with an auto attack DPS build, I would go for this talent. Paired with seasoned marksman, Nexus Frenzy, and Huntress' Fury, your auto attacks would pack a punch. If you are building DPS, then you should have another healer on your team, so you can spend some of your healing mana on this. The 25 second cooldown begins when you cast the spell, so there is only a 20 second cooldown from when the effect ends to cooldown.

Not including any attack speed talents you may go for.

Quickening Blessing
Situational
I very rarely pick up this talent, but mainly just because I prefer Lunar Blaze. The movespeed boost only works on allies, not yourself, so if you get isolated from team by someone like Zeratul or Illidan for some reason, this talent won't do anything for you. However, if your nearby teammate is getting run down by an assassin, this short burst of speed could be the difference between life and death. From a defensive perspective, I would consider picking up this talent if the enemy squad consists of people who like to dive your back line. That way a cast of your Q will heal your carry back up and get them out. From an offensive perspective, you could look at this talent if your enemies have decent disengage and your allies have little-to-no gap close. The speed boost could help your Diablo catch up to a fleeing enemy, or help your Raynor get in those last couple auto attacks.

Lunar Blaze
Recommended
I like this talent simply because it allows you to hit more stuns, and stuns win games. It's a significant range boost to your E, so you can land stuns from a safer distance back, and will have more viable targets to hit.

Battle Momentum
Situational
The up side of this talent is you will be able to heal quicker, stun more often, and shoot more owls. The downside is that you will run out of mana quicker, have to be auto attacking something to get any value, and will be missing out on the other level 7 talents. So overall it is solid, but has some drawbacks. I probably wouldn't recommend this for newer Tyrande players that aren't as good with mana management, landing her skill shots, or are not good at positioning during team fights. If you are good at all of those things, then I would recommend trying it out when your team requires more burst healing, and has little CC.

Calldown: MULE
Don't Choose
Just not a very solid talent at the moment, and has no guaranteed value. If your lanes are always pushed up to enemy towers, or if your structures aren't taking gradual damage from minions or heroes, then you won't get anything from this talent. This talent gets a little value on Blackheart's Bay, but I still opt out of it.

Overflowing Light
Recommended
This is pretty much always the talent to go with if you are the solo healer on the team. Just try to stay in good position yourself so that you never fall below 50% hp, and it gives your heal on allies a significant boost. Note: The boost does not apply to the self heal.

Huntress' Fury
Don't Choose
Would never recommend on a support Tyrande build. You can toy around with it on an auto attack Tyrande build though. See notes on Searing Arrows.

Sprint
Situational
I pick up this talent occasionally if I have another healer on my team and I am having troubles with an enemy diving me, such as Illidan or Sonya. If I am not having any survivability issues or am the only healer on the team, I would pass on this one though.

Shrink Ray
Situational
Very similar to my explanation for Sprint, just replace the " Illidan and Sonya diving me" to diving my carry instead. Still recommend Overflowing Light if you are the solo healer though.

Trueshot Aura
Recommended
This is my default level 16 talent, because a 15% damage boost to autos is a significant damage boost. Especially if you have auto attack heroes like Raynor or Valla on your team. However, if you have no heroes that depend on auto attacks on your team, then no reason to pick up this talent. In the current meta, typically each team has one or two heroes that do auto attack a lot, though. Note: This passive only affects allied Heroes.

Mark of Mending
Don't Choose
This talent is just too risky to take, because it's reliant on your allies auto-attacking the target that you mark. Here is some of the best-case scenario math:

3,000 HP x 2.5% hp = 75 x 4 attacks (One attack per second+duration of Mark is 4 seconds) = 300 hp.
4,000 HP x 2.5% hp = 100 x 4 = 400 hp.
5,000 HP x 2.5% hp = 125 x 4 = 500 hp.

So at it's best case scenario, it's about half as strong as Storm Shield. Which is still actually solid for a talent, but realistically the healing numbers are going to be much lower and insignificant.

Ranger
Situational
A solid talent to go with, especially when paired with Pierce at level 4. I would pick this up if you aren't going to get much value from Trueshot Aura and are looking for some extra damage & vision. Also great for sniping the enemy Abathur. This talent makes your owl a lot easier to land consistently, and typically does around 1K damage at max range.

Shooting Star
Don't Choose
I want to like this talent more, but can't in the current patch. Shooting star will definitely help with your mana problems (if you consistently land your stun!), and the slight damage increase is always nice, but both Ranger and Trueshot Aura are just better options.

Hunter's Swiftness
Recommended
30% movespeed boost for 8 seconds while you are also stealthed and healing-over-time. Note: mount speed is 40%. All of the Storm Tier talents are great options, but this is my go-to. Increases your teams survivability, prevents people from running away, and allows for some great ambushes. If you hit level 20 first, this is a great talent to snowball and make plays with.

Celestial Wrath
Don't Choose
If you are following my guide then you didn't choose Starfall at level 10, so you don't even have the option to pick up this talent at level 20. However, if you did pick up Starfall for some reason, then go ahead and pick up this storm tier to go with it. It's a great damage boost and adds global map presence.

Nexus Frenzy
Don't Choose
I'm making this guide assuming you are playing a support Tyrande build, so nexus frenzy doesn't make the cut. If you are looking for a dps/auto-attack build, take a look at my Alternate Builds.

Storm Shield
Recommended/Situational
This is also a great Storm Tier talent, and I recommend it alongside Hunter's Swiftness! Which one should you choose though? I look to pick up Storm Shield in situations where I am the solo support on the team and needing to be able to withstand some burst AoE damage from Kael'thas and Jaina. Or if the enemy has a Zagara you might pick this up to use right away after half of your team gets hit by the maw - to shield some of the imminent burst damage.

Rewind
Situational
This is always a solid storm tier talent, to be able to reset all of your cooldowns. I rarely would recommend picking this talent up over Storm Shield and Hunter's Swiftness, but some viable situations to play around with it would be if you have a strong owl build and are looking for extra vision control/snipe ability (RIP Abathur), or if you are desperate for more CC to lock down the enemy carry. I wouldn't pick it up for the Q reset, because Storm Shield is going to be better for keeping allies alive.

Gameplay Tips Top

  • Mostly focus on roaming here. Try not to engage with your Lunar Flare. Instead, wait for your allies to engage and land some form of CC first, and then follow up with your Hunter's Mark and Lunar Flare. Very easy kills.
  • You don't have any wave clear, so make someone else soak the side lanes.
  • Time-saving tip: Whenever you are not in combat, always mount up. No reason not to.
  • Time-saving tip: When healing at fountain, utilize shift+clicking. Shift+right click on the fountain then shift+right click your destination afterwards so you aren't wasting any time standing around. Every second you are not gaining XP, you are losing the game.
  • I recommend using quick cast if you aren't already. The speed at which you cast your Q and D can be very important, and be the difference between life and death.

  • Focus on objective control. Utilize Sentinel as much as you can to grant vision of opponents so there are no surprises.
  • During teamfights, make sure you stay at the back in good position and keeping tabs on health bars and cooldowns. If you didn't pick up Lunar Blaze at level 7, you may have to move up a little to land your stun.
  • Use Hunter's Mark as much as possible on enemy targets and I recommend ping it during team fights so allies see who to burst. Also communicate before team fights who you are looking to mark in the fight.
  • Take down objectives and mercs quicker with Hunter's Mark.

  • Give your team the tool it needs to win : vision
  • Stuns at this stage of the game could be the difference between win or lose. Get some practice with her E and a good feel for it, and look for chain CC opportunities with Muradin or Diablo.
  • If you picked up hunters swiftness, first find them with your owl and then look to ambush them while off-guard. Teamwork is incredibly important here.

More coming Soon! Stay tuned.

Follow up stitches hook with Lunar Flare. If in range, cast stun then Hunter's Mark right away before the flare lands. Also aim your stun slightly forward from where the hook target is going to land, to catch them as they try to run away.

Raynor players love to play over aggressive because he is so OP. Just punish him every time. When Diablo charges and uses Overpower, follow up with your stun every time.

Follow up the Muradin Storm Bolt with your stun right away for an effective chain CC. By the time your flare lands, the first stun will just be wearing off. It is an AoE stun remember, so try to hit more than one person if you can.

When To Pick Top

Let's make this simple: Pick her every game that you can. She is easily top 5 heroes in the game right now. [Greymane patch]
