Threat Hero Notes
1
Raynor Pure autoattck and low mobility makes Raynor a very easy target.
1
Zagara First, you can use immolation to burn out creep. Next, she has no mobility once her creep is gone. She has ability damage. The dream matchup.
2
Alarak It's easy to dodge discord strike as Illidan, and otherwise, his damage is autoattack. Also, Illidan can easily re-engage after being pushed away
2
Greymane In a one-on-one, you win every time due to superior mobility and sustain.
2
Jaina Blizzard is easy to dodge, and slows don't matter if you use abilites to move. Also has little self defense.
2
Lt. Morales Always jump Morales first and you will be fine.
2
Nazeebo Jumping Nazeebo is still very easy, and can be killed before most of his damage hits.
2
The Lost Vikings You can dive around the vikings in a fight and completely frustrate them with evasion.
3
Artanis Just ignore him. He isnt able to do anything to you except suppression pulse, which is really annoying.
3
Chen While he is drinking, you can easily heal by attacking him, and he is with no roots or stuns.
3
Kerrigan It's possible to dodge the combo, is easily chased down, and the majority of damage is basic attacks.
3
Kharazim Aoe heals can struggle to keep the focused target safe, and Kharzim has no crowd control.
3
Medivh If a target is shielded, jump to another, you are also able to jump from one opening of a portal to the other faster than almost any of other character.
3
Rexxar Jumping the vulnerable Rexxar kills Misha, which is the half that has the stun.
3
Stitches You can chase Stitches down easily, outpace his damage, and escape from hook and gorge.
3
Tychus Not an issue, lacks burst abilities or crowd control.
4
Gazlowe You can evade his turrets, but if you dive too deep to kill Gazlowe, his turrets might get the final blow on you.
4
Kael'thas His stun can be dangerous, but his lack of mobility or defense make him an easy target.
4
Lunara She can poke at you and outdamage your healing, at least until you get the hunt.
4
Sgt. Hammer Evasion is a life saver, but even Illidan can't outrun her thrusters.
4
Sylvanas Withering fire and wailing arrow are good on against Illidan, but delayed mobility, dependence on basic attacks, and the window of opportunity when using mid control give Illidan the edge.
4
Tracer Watch out for for pulse bomb, but otherwise, you are more survivable and mobile. Hunt also gives you some CC, which is very valuable against tracer.
4
Valla Not an issue unless she goes for some sort of puncturing arrow build.
4
Zeratul You can chase him down easily, and should reveal him with immolation.
5
Chromie You can dodge her spells, but if they hit, it hurts. Once you get to her, you won't have any problems.(At least until taking bye-bye, which you are unable to stun her out of.)
5
Falstad You are able to jump him fairly easily. Watch out for lightning rod, though, as it can give you problems.
5
Li-Ming You should be able to dive her without that many problems, just make sure you have enough health to avoid being bursted down.
5
Tyrael Generally good match for you, except for either of Tyrael's ultimates, which can force you to reatreat. Also be careful of the blocking field.
5
Tyrande Easy to kill, stuns can be dodged, can't outheal you, but be careful of getting focused after diving into a hunter's mark.
6
Leoric Just find someone away from Leoric to focus. It's not really a good matchup for either.
6
Rehgar Nothing notably bad or good, except using ancestral on someone you've almost finished feels awful.
6
Thrall The root is a pain, but evasion will save your life. Also, sundering is an issue, but after it is used, you are favored.
7
Cho Takes ages to wear down, and most of his damage is from abilities. (However, they are not that hard to dodge.)
7
E.T.C. Stuns make him very dangerous, and but he wont be able to burst you down alone.
7
Arthas His roots are annoying, but can be dodged. You are also able to evade a fair amount of his damage. However, watch for the attack speed slow in his tempest at level
7
Azmodan Taking march of sin allows Azmodan a highly sustainable source of ability damage, which is rare. However, Azmodan is very easy to chase down.
7
Murky Octo-grab is an almost guaranteed death, but otherwise, its a fairly even matchup.
7
Nova Her burst makes her very scary if she attacks you before you can engage.
7
Sonya I have't actually had many Illidan vs Sonya fights, but in theory, she rarely uses basic attacks, making this a unfavored matchup.
7
Zarya Shields on targets you are try to focus is a pain, but she lacks the burst and crowd control to be a major threat.
8
Diablo If the enemy is well coordinated, they will be able to capitalize on Diablo's stuns. If not, you should be able to dive back over Diablo and slip away into the back lines.
8
The Butcher His charge his very dangerous, as he can almost burst you down if evasion isn't active, but you should be able to take the charge in a favorable position if he is charging from a distance.
8
Gul'dan He will literally never use a basic attack. Jumping at him while using drain life will only help him.
8
Johanna Blinds and potential attack speed reductions are a giant pain, but you should be able to find someone far from the front line to target.
8
Malfurion You should be able to chase him down, however, his roots can be a problem and his healing is able to keep pace with you.
8
Xul Will beat you in lane, and bone prison will give you problems. At least it's delayed.
9
Dehaka Getting dragged will probably be the end of you, unless you can dodge it.
9
Muradin Has attack speed slows and stuns. However, you can try to avoid him.
9
Uther Can stun you if you try to jump him, and even if you do kill him, he will still be able to heal your next target. An arkward direct matchup, but not unwinable.
10
Brightwing Jump in. Get polymorphed. Die.
10
Li Li Blinds and crowd control ultimates that lock on. Perfect.

Talent Choices Top

Level 1 is pretty much set in stone, unless you are playing against Rexxar or vikings, then battered assault is definitely worth considering. Friend or foe is just best at level 4. If the enemy team has little basic attack damage, consider Hunter's onslaught instead at level 7. The hunt is great for getting picks to engage, but metamorphosis is also good is you don't like the hunt. Level 13 is flexible, pick whatever works against the enemy composition. If the enmy team is going double tank, fiery brand isn't bad, but usually blades of azzinoth is best. All the level 20 talents are great. I like nowhere to hide because I use the hunt to get a pick at the start of a fight, and then am able to chase down someone who retreated at low health.
