Knight of the Ebon Blade

Darion is an extremely mobile warrior. His talents allow for lots of flexibility when it comes to his role, allowing him to function as a bruiser with bursty attack damage spikes, a supportive offtank with some utility, or an initiating tank. The majority of his damage comes from basic attacks, which on their own are quite unimpressive but he also has access to Ashbringer talents which upon fulfilling certain conditions will provide very potent buffs that can greatly increase his damage and durability.

His trait Marrowrend provides up front damage reduction as long as he has not taken too much damage recently. His armor values will heavily fluctuate during a fight and will likely float around 10 for the most part, but it is an excellent defense against heavy poke. Attacks with heavy burst can consume multiple stacks at once but will only be affected by the first one. He is also permanently mounted which gives a great deal of in-fight maneuverability and allows for easy escaping, however this comes at the cost of relatively low durability.

Deathgrip is an iconic ability with very simple usage. It's a targeted cc ability with low damage and average (about 5.5) range, which pulls a rather short distance (slightly less than Alarak's Telekinesis) on a decently low cooldown. It's spammable enough to be a reliable interrupt and can displace enemies for easy kills, as long as you're close enough. Unholy Aura is a unique ability, the area is sizeable and can affect the whole team, and can be positioned really easily with your movement speed. It doesn't directly deal damage, but can make getting a kill much easier, and can neuter some supports or self-sustain heroes like Illidan or Mal'ganis. Steed Charge provides a steadily increasing movement speed bonus and stun, which is extremely strong for initiation but be wary of the long cooldown. It can be used as an escape, but then you will miss out on the stun.

Raise Ally is similar to Auriel's Resurrection, except it doesn't provide the enemy with a free kill and has a much higher uptime. The spirit is temporary and the ally's death timer will still tick down while the ult is active but it can be a great way to keep a fight going even when you lose an important ally. You need to be nearby the death when it happens though, so you can't make up for a dumb ally being out of position across the map. Wake of Ashes is an Ashbringer artifact ability that heavily damages enemies at low health. Whether they are below half health before or after the damage is applied, the bonus will still apply. It's a more reliable alternative for securing kills.

Marrowrend
Gain a stack of 10 armor every 5 seconds or on a basic attack, up to 40. Losing 5% max health within 5 seconds removes a stack.

Primary Abilities

Deathgrip
35 mana - 8 second cooldown

Pull the target enemy slightly towards you, dealing 55 (+4% per level) damage.

Unholy Aura
50 mana - 12 second cooldown

Generate an aura for 5 seconds, reducing nearby enemies' armor by 10 and healing by 50%, and healing Mograine for 50% of the healing reduced.

Steed Charge
70 mana - 16 second cooldown

Empower the next basic attack to stun for 0.25 seconds, and gain 5% increased movement speed every 0.2 seconds up to 50%, and lasts 3 seconds or on basic attacking. Stun duration is increased by 0.25 seconds every 0.5 second up to 1 second.

Heroic Abilities

Raise Ally
80 mana - 1 second cooldown

Slain allies leave spirits behind for 5 seconds, casting on a spirit creates a clone of the ally after 1 second that they control for 10 seconds. If the clone dies it does not count as a death and is instantly slain on ally resurrection.

Wake of Ashes
75 mana - 55 second cooldown

Deal 230 (+4% per level) damage to enemies in a wide arc, if an enemy is below 50% health they take an additional 320 (+4% per level) damage.

Special Mount

Horseman
Darion is always riding on his selected horse mount, permanently gaining 30% increased movement speed that stacks with other movement speed bonuses, but increasing the effect of all slows on himself by 10%. Darion can attack and channel while mounted.

Talents

[Level 1]
Unholy Armor: Unholy Aura grants nearby allies 10 armor.
Deathcharger: Steed Charge increases the damage of the next basic attack by 24 (+4% per level) per 0.2 seconds up to 240 (+4% per level).
Ashbringer's Light: Dealing 400 (+4% per level) damage within 5 seconds empowers Ashbringer for 8 seconds (+60% attack damage)
8 second cooldown.


[Level 4]
Foul Bulwark: Marrowrend stacks require twice as much damage to be lost.
Trampling Hooves: Steed Charge speed boost does not end upon attacking.
Death's Reach: Death Grip range increased by 30%, and takedowns reset the cooldown.


[Level 7]
Death Pact: Activate to instantly restore 50% of your max health, but prevent healing equal to 30% of your max health over 10 seconds.
60 second cooldown.
Consumption: Unholy Aura heals for 25% of healing received by nearby allied heroes.
Light's Embrace: Taking 800 (+4% per level) damage within 5 seconds empowers Ashbringer for 8 seconds (+100% lifesteal)
20 second cooldown.


[Level 10]
Raise Ally: Raise slain allies to keep on fighting.
Wake of Ashes: Cleave nearby enemies, executing those with low health.


[Level 13]
Tombstone: Marrowrend can gain an additional stack, up to 50 armor.
Heartstop Aura: Unholy Aura reduces enemy attack speed by 60%.
Ebon Fever: Dealing or taking damage from an enemy reduces their spell damage by 20% and armor by 10 for 2 seconds.


[Level 16]
Ossuary: Gain immunity to slows and roots with at least 3 stacks of Marrowrend.
Asphyxiate: Death Grip stuns for .75 seconds.
Blade of Light: Enemies hit with 4 basic attacks in 5 seconds are stunned for 1 second and empower Ashbringer for 8 seconds (+25% attack speed)
8 second cooldown per enemy.


[Level 20]
All will Serve: Raise Ally is automatically cast on self when slain, and takedowns by spirits reduce their death timer by 10%.
Ashes to Ashes: Wake of Ashes deals damage equal to 5% of missing health per second for 6 seconds.
Gorefiend's Grasp: Activate to empower the next Death Grip to also cast Death Grip from the target's location on all nearby heroes.
40 second cooldown.
Ashen Verdict: While Ashbringer is empowered gain 20% movement speed and basic attacks cleave in a wide arc behind the target.
