Huln Highmountain [Complete Concept]

of the Eagle Spear

Vaunted hero of the Tauren, Huln Highmountain is a legendary Hunter, and champion of the Wild Gods. During the War of the Ancients, despite their blood feud with the Night Elves, Huln led the Tauren against the demonic onslaught. Wielding the ancient spear known as Talonclaw, Huln saved the life of the Eagle Spirit Ohn'ahra, receiving for himself a blessing from the Wild God, and beginning a line of blessings to come. Before his death, Huln Highmountain would fight in the service of many Wild Gods as a champion of nature and of the Tauren people.

Huln Highmountain is a hunting assassin that specializes in chasing down enemies using multiple gap closers and his loyal companion, Eche’ro. Once he’s engaged with an enemy, his damage ramps up to massive levels if he’s allowed to stick onto them for an extended period of time. His sticking power and long-term damage makes him a dangerous enemy that his enemies need to focus down with crowd control and damage of their own.

Combat Trait

Hunter's Focus

Huln uses Focus instead of Mana. Huln has a maximum of 100 Focus, and regenerates 10 Focus per second.


Focus appears as a red-orange bar beneath his health bar.

Primary Abilities

Harpoon
Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Focus Cost: 20
Range: 7.5

Huln tosses his spear at the target, dealing 50(+4% p/lvl) damage, and rooting them for 1 second before leaping to their location.

If cast from Eche’ro’s back, this ability uses no Focus and Eche'ro charges alongside Huln, dealing an additional 50(+4% p/lvl) damage and stunning them instead of rooting them.

Toss Trap
Cooldown 4 Seconds
Range: 8

Huln tosses a trap to the target location. The trap arms after .75 seconds, and lies in wait for 1 minute. When triggered by an enemy hero, it rends the target’s legs, slowing them by 20% for 2 seconds and causing them to bleed for 35(+4% p/lvl) per second for 5 seconds. The damage of the bleed increases by 2(+1 p/lvl) with every tick. Subsequent traps extend the duration, increasing the subsequent damage.

Huln can only place a maximum of 5 traps. Placing a 6th one will cause the earliest trap to disarm. If the trap is placed inside brush, it stealths, and cannot be seen even by enemies in the brush.


Traps can be destroyed, if visible, in two basic attacks. Visually, Huln throws the trap, which skids along the ground towards it's destination, and takes .75 seconds to open up it's jaws.

Mongoose Bite
Cooldown: 1 Second
Focus Cost: 20
Range: Melee

Huln viciously strikes at the target with his spear, dealing 121(+4% p/lvl) damage. The damage of Mongoose Bite increases by 25% every time he uses it on the same enemy, up to a maximum of 5 boosts for 125% increased damage. Using it on a different target will reset the damage boost. The boost will only last for 4.5 seconds.


As Huln gains damage boosts, the attack will rise in power visually and audibly, with boosts beyond 5 depicting massive overhead cleaves with the spear, and crashing sound effects with a green visual trail behind the spear. A visual indicator above the health bar, to the right of Huln's portrait, indicates the current boost and how long it will last.

Secondary Abilities

Lo'Gosh Bloodscent - 60 Second Cooldown

Activate to reveal for 5 seconds the prey that has evaded you.


This ability is granted by the talent Lo'Gosh Bloodscent.

Flare - 25 Second Cooldown

Reveal the area and all stealthed targets in the area for 20 seconds.


This ability is granted by the Flare talent.

Camouflage - 3 Second Cooldown

Activate this ability to stealth yourself. You can Toss Traps, use talented abilities, and mount Eche'ro without breaking stealth. Taking or dealing damage outside of traps will reveal you.


This abiliy is granted by completing the Camouflage talent quest.

Blessing of Ursoc - 60 Second Cooldown

Activate to heal yourself for 35% of your maximum health.


This ability is granted by the Blessing of Ursoc talent.

Heroic Abilities

Fury of the Eagle
Cooldown: 60 Seconds
Focus Cost: 20
Range: 3.3

Huln channels to viciously strike enemies in a cone with multiple spear strikes, dealing 221 (+4% p/lvl) over 3 seconds. The player can move freely while channeling the strikes.

Fury of the Eagle deals 25% increased damage based on how much his Mongoose Bite has ramped up in damage, but it deals the damage to everyone struck, not just the initial target of Mongoose Bite.

Wild Stampede
Cooldown: 80 Seconds
Range: 7.5

Huln becomes Unstoppable and instantly mounts onto Eche’ro, charging in the target direction, dealing 110(+4% p/lvl) damage to and stunning all enemies in his path for 2 seconds. For the next 4 seconds, Huln cannot be dismounted, and his and Eche'ro's movement speed is increased to 40%.

Special Mount

Eche'ro, Chosen of Malorne

Huln does not ride traditional mounts. Instead, he rides his moose companion, Eche’ro, increasing his movement speed by 20%. Huln does not channel to mount, but activating the mount button will cause Eche’ro to appear from the wilds and run to Huln, taking 1.5 seconds to reach him. Huln jumps onto Eche’ro’s back when he reaches him. Huln can use this trait to mount in combat, and damaging him will not dismount him until after he has been mounted for at least 1.5 seconds. After being dismouned, Eche'ro cannot be resummoned for 4 seconds.


Different skins can change Eche'ro's appearance.

TALENTS

Level 1:

Overrun - Enemies between you and your target when Harpoon is cast from Eche'ro's back also take damage and are stunned.
