Vol'jin

Chieftain of the Darkspear Tribe

 

- Offensive duelist, benefits from losing health and turning fights around with  Payback and when chosen,  Lifeswap.
-   Shadowpin isolates enemies while  Mind Sear forces teams to split up.
-   Berserkering is Vol'jin's main damage output, which has to be managed as it rapidly drains his health.
-   Shadowmend Potion grants sustain and more precise health management.
-  The more health Vol'jin uses and loses, the more dangerous he is.

Combat Trait

Vol'jin's incorporates the Voodoo into his basic attacks, dealing 2% of his own missing health each.
For each 1% of missing health also gains 0.2% resistance to incoming ability damage.

Primary Abilities

Q: Shadowpin
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Cost: 5% of maximum health
Throw forth a spear that pins the first enemy hero's shadow on the ground, preventing them from moving too far away from the spear for 2 seconds and dealing 237 (+4% per level) damage over 3 seconds.

W: Mind Sear
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Mark an enemy hero, causing 48 (+5% per level) damage per second but doubled that amount to nearby enemy units for 6 seconds.

E: Berserking
Cooldown: Toggle
Cost: 3% of maximum health per second
Activate to immediately gain 15% increased attack speed, 35% increased movement speed and 10% increased basic attack damage.

Secondary Abilities

1: Shadowmend Potion
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Activate to instantly restore 30% of Vol'jin's maximum health and after 1 second lose 15% over 3 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Restless Spirits
Cooldown: 80 seconds
Unleash a wave of four spirits who hunt down nearby enemy heroes for up to 4 seconds. If an enemy is caught by a spirit, they are hexed for 1.25 seconds. Each enemy can only be hexed once.

Lifeswap
Cooldown: 50 seconds
Mark an enemy hero, and after 0.5 seconds swap health % with them over 4 seconds.

How to be a healthy Troll


"How do I become a healthy Troll?"

Well, with Vol'jin... it's not easy.
A healthy Voodoo master is not as dangerous as an almost-dead Voodoo master. As Vol'jin it would be key to be able to know how much damage you're going to take and how much damage you will be able to deal before it's time to bail. Similar to my Edwin concept, player mechanics are not as important as decision making. A good all-in with Vol'jin is a guaranteed won fight, while a bad one will just look like he leaped into the fight and drained his own life to zero.

Alrighty, thank you very much for making it thus far, and I appreciate comments and feedback if you got any. I really hope you enjoyed this concept!

I tried to convey four things in Vol'jin: Voodoo, a troll's strength, "shadow" and "hunter".
Payback, Shadowpin and heroics represent the Voodoo, while Mind Sear represents a Shadow Priest, Berserkering represents the troll racial active and using a spear showcases the hunter part of Shadow Hunter.
Shadowmend Potion was a neat way to merge everything together. A potion that conveys a shadow priest spell... perfectly hunter/shadowy/voodoo!


If you liked this concept I would really appreciate if you left a thumbs up before leaving. Motivates the author! As I always say.

Hm, he seems very similar to Zul'jin. I was kind of hoping for some more Shadow Hunter abilities, but it still seems like a cool kit! My only real issue is that I'm not sure what it means to get Hexed by the Restless Spirits heroic. Is it a polymorph effect?
