I see Swann as being in an SCV exoskeleton, and has immense healing potential but very limited defense. In a teamfight he has to rely on his teammates to win the game as he buffs them up as much as possible, because on his own he doesn't have the most damage or cc, and his health is only average. When out of combat however, he can heal just as well if not better than a Healing Fountain, and can potentially deal damage from across the map. He works great alongside a hyper-carry, but can also do amazing in poke-based compositions, or in conjunction with high-heath heroes.

Attack Drones are one of your biggest strengths. Baseline your damage is utterly pathetic, being melee and only marginally better than Abathur's, but your Drones have actually decent damage and can attack while moving. They also grant 10 armor, permanently, which stacks with other sources of armor. Even more importantly, you can place the Drone on ally heroes to give them armor and letting you attack from their position. The Drone does not have a leash range but you can't place it on allies who are too far away, so if you want you could stick it on an ally and soak a lane solo, so you can keep attacking from where they are. It's a good tool for poking and can give a warrior some much-valued durability.

Repair is your main healing tool, being capable of healing an ally practically to full over a rather long duration. The raw healing is very high but cannot be used in combat, so must be used when it is safe to do so. The cooldown is very long as well, but if you channel it the full duration you won't have to wait as long. It can also be used to repair your buildings, which is great and all but if you stick around repairing over and over your teammates will be all alone, so don't waste tons of time on that.

Grapple is a mobility skill, similar to Ancient Spear, except it cannot hit units. You must aim it at terrain to pull yourself to it, which might seem silly however the projectile moves very fast and the cooldown is really low, letting you dart all over the place. It's also your only solo damage ability, and with good positioning and aim you can even stun enemies with it, even though you aren't unstoppable during it. EMP Charge provides some nice defense without dealing damage on its own. You have to place it preemptively giving enemies time to know it's there, but if you position around it enemies will be hesitant to trigger it at risk of an extremely powerful disable. The health is very low making it pretty easy to kill.

Restoration Pack is single-handedly the most convenient healing ability in the game, because if an ally thinks they're not getting healed then they can just heal themselves. It works as an item similar to Nukes and Turrets so make sure you keep your item slot open for that, although there is a failsafe where Swann can remove it from a hero who doesn't need it at will. Shrike Turret is a more offensive ability that grants a great deal of sustained damage over a long period of time that doesn't really care what hero it's on. You can stick it on your main tank and it will deal just as much damage, for free!

Attack Drone
3s cooldown

Swann is followed by an invulnerable drone which basic attacks enemies he targets in range dealing 85 (+4% per level) damage (1s cooldown) with 5.5 range and grants him 10 armor. Activation sends the drone to a target allied minion hero or structure, granting them the bonuses and attacking targeted enemies from their location. If the target dies the drone returns to Swann, and can be retrieved by targeting self. Dies when Swann dies.

Primary Abilities

Grapple
35 mana - 6s cooldown

Launches a claw in the target direction with long range that pulls Swann to the terrain or structure it hits after a short delay. Enemy non-structures you impact while pulling yourself take 151 (+4% per level) damage and are stunned for .5 seconds.

Repair
60 mana - 35s cooldown

Activate to channel on the target allied hero or structure, rooting yourself in place for up to 10 seconds, healing the structure for 200hp per second or the hero for 6% of their max health per second. If reactivated, the hero moves too far away, or Swann takes damage, the channel breaks.

EMP Charge
50 mana - 15s cooldown

Place a bomb at the target location that arms after 1s, having 250 (+4% per level) health and upon destruction silencing the attacker and nearby enemies for 3s. The charge can only be damaged by enemy heroes and lasts 15s.

Heroic Abilities

Restoration Pack
75 mana - 30s cooldown (starts at end of effect)

Place an item on the ground for 8s that an allied hero can pick up as an item. After 2s they can activate it to restore 35% of their max health and 14% of their mana over 7s. If not picked up the cooldown is reset, and if picked up can be reactivated to reset the cooldown and remove the item from the ally, refunding the mana.

Shrike Turret
90 mana - 70s cooldown

Give an allied hero a turret that hovers behind them, firing at nearby enemies (prioritizing heroes) dealing 81 (+4% per level) damage per .5s with 9.5 range, and lasting 15s. Cannot be cast on self.

Talents

[Level 1]
- Stealth Charge: EMP Charge is invisible to the enemy.
- Bolster: Attack Drone grants nearby allies 10 armor. Cannot stack with itself.
- Plasma Cutters: Melee basic attacks against structures disable towers and allows allies to pass through gates for 2s.


[Level 4]
- Auto-Tracking: Attack Drone has 20% increased sight range and +1 attack range.
- Magrail Munitions The next Attack Drone shot against a hero deals 20% increased damage and slows by 20% for 2s. 5s cooldown.
- Assault Drone: Attack Drone can be placed on enemy heroes reducing their armor by 10, but is removed if Swann moves too far away.


[Level 7]
- Routine Maintenance If Repair channels the full duration on a hero the cooldown is reduced by 15s.
- Calldown:MULE: Activate to call down a MULE with global range that repairs structures.
- Fortify: Activate to make the ally with the Attack Drone unstoppable for 1s. 50s cd.


[Level 10]
- Restoration Pack: Give an ally an item that restores their health and mana.
- Shrike Turret: A turret follows an ally dealing damage to nearby enemies.


[Level 13]
- Lockdown Pulse: EMP Charge instead stuns for 2s.
- Applied Plating: Repair grants the target 30 armor while channeling and 2s after.
- Fire Suppression System: All allied structures passively restore 75 hps when below 35% health.


[Level 16]
- Rapid Reload: Attack Drone has 50% increased attack speed against heroes.
- BFF's: Grapple can pull to allies with an Attack Drone on them.
- Fusion Welders: Repair is no longer broken upon taking damage and Swann is unstoppable while channeling.


[Level 20]
- Nano-Healing: Restoration Pack restores all the health and mana over 2s.
- Shrike Turret: Shrike Turret can be placed on a target destroyed ally or enemy structure after a 2s channel, having 10,000 health and lasting 70s.
- Drone Buddy Swann has a permanent Attack Drone as long as he has one on an ally.

Notes

What started out as an uninspired design I just wanted to throw out there turned into a pretty fleshed out builder hero! I was pleasantly surprised with this. I don't want him to be too similar in role to Sgt Hammer or overlap with Gazlowe, but I also didn't want to focus on the Marauder side of things to leave space for General Warfield. Basically I just made an SCV hero, so... here we are. EDIT: I completely reworked him into a support hero. That might seem weird and abrupt, but I had something of an epiphany with the Fenix release, and wanted to try and make him something unique. I am extremely satisfied with this new design, much more than the old one.
