Algalon the Observer

Herald of the Titans

"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames, their denizens fading without so much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart devoid of emotion... of empathy. I. Have. Felt. Nothing."

Algalon the Observer was tasked by the Titan Pantheon with watching over the planet of Azeroth, monitoring it for signs of corruption. As an immortal Constellar, he is a duty-bound servant of the Titans, forever acting out their will, whatever it may be.

Role

Algalon is a ranged assassin, specializing in area of effect damage. Algalon brings little to no CC, and has no movement abilities, relying on frontliners to peel for him. When surrounded, he is taken down easily, but with proper support, the sheer damage he puts out can secure teamfights.

Algalon can choose between an ultimate that suppliments his DPS by covering the area of the teamfight with damaging pulses of energy, or deny an individual enemy player from affecting your team while improving your single target damage on them with your second option of ultimate.

Combat Trait

1
Starlord
Passive

All of Algalon's basic abilities refund 10 mana for each enemy hero they damage.

When you damage an enemy hero with a Dying Star explosion, reduce the cooldowns on Comet Trail and Cosmic Alignment by 1 second each.

Primary Abilities

1
[Q] - Collapsing Star
Mana: 40
Cooldown: 2 seconds

After a 1 second delay, a star falls on the targeted area, dealing 264 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies caught in the blast, and leaving behind a Dying Star.

Dying Stars have 400 (+30 per level) health, can be damaged by enemies and block pathing while alive. Their health automatically decays at a rate of one tenth of their maximum health per second.

You may not have more than 3 Dying Stars alive at any one time. Casting Collapsing Star with 3 Dying Stars still alive causes your lowest health Dying Star to despawn.

The area of effect has the same radius as Tyrande's Lunar Flare. (pictured here)

Dying Stars are spherical, with about half the radius of Collapsing Star's area of effect, and spawn in the center of Collapsing Star's area of effect.
2
[W] - Comet Trail
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Fire a projectile in the targeted direction, dealing 124 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies it passes through.

The projectile stops prematurely if it collides with a Dying Star, pushing the Dying Star away from Algalon.
The Dying Star's travel path when pushed by Comet Trail is equal to 66% of Comet Trail's untalented range.

If a Dying Star collides with an enemy hero this way, it explodes, dealing 302 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies.

If a Dying Star collides with another Dying Star this way, they create a larger explosion that deals 416 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies.

The width of the projectile is the same as Jaina's Ice Lance, with 60% of its untalented range. (pictured here)

The radius of a Dying Star explosion is the same as that of Collapsing Star's untalented area of effect. Explosions caused by two Dying Stars colliding have a 50% larger radius.
3
[E] - Cosmic Alignment
Mana: 70
Cooldown: 15 seconds

All of your currently living Dying Stars stop decaying health, and begin moving a set distance toward the target location, reaching the end of their path after 2 seconds.

When a Dying Star reaches the end of its path, or collides with an enemy hero, it explodes dealing 302 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies.

If two Dying Stars collide this way, they create a larger explosion that deals 416 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies.

If a Dying Star is killed before it explodes, there is no explosion.

The length of the Dying Star's path is shown below, and the spell's targeting functions similarly to Gazlowe's "Firin' Ma Lazorz" lvl 20 talent. (pictured here)

The radius of a Dying Star explosion is the same as that of Collapsing Star's untalented area of effect. Explosions caused by two Dying Stars colliding have a 50% larger radius.

Secondary Abilities

1
Cosmic Being
Cooldown: 30 seconds

Level 20 Talent

Algalon traps himself in the Cosmic Plane, putting himself in stasis for 3 seconds, gaining invulnerability, but being unable to move or take any actions.
2
Reorigination
Cooldown: 75 seconds

Level 20 Talent

All of your currently living Dying Stars create an incorporeal copy of themselves wherever they are. The next time each of those Dying Stars explodes, or is killed, it respawns at full health at the location of it's copy.

Heroic Abilities

1
[R] - Supernova
Mana: 80
Cooldown: 90 seconds

After a 1.5 second delay, all of your Dying Stars begin pulsing every second for 3 seconds.
Each pulse deals 284 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies.
The radius of each pulse twice as wide as an untalented Dying Star explosion.
2
[R] - Phase Shift
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 75 seconds

Target enemy hero is pulled into the Comsmic Plane, where they take an additional 25% damage from all of Algalon's abilities and are unable to heal, be healed, damage, be damaged or otherwise affect or be affected by any units other than Algalon and his Dying Stars.

The hero will automatically leave the Cosmic Plane after 5 seconds, or when he or Algalon die.

Nice job!
The skill set is beautiful but you need to balance his damage output. Also, I think Q is way too strong for a 2 seconds cooldown skill.

Seems like we both made two separate and different Algalon the Observes concepts on the same day. What a coincidence.
