Lvl 1: REANIMATION is a must. You should take every opportunity to kill lane minions and siege/bruiser/bosses to farm/collect healing/renewal globes. By end game you should have between 60(short game) to 100(long game) hp regen from the bonuses. This will allow u to collect globes when u die as well. and make your respawn times laughably short.

lvl 4: WILLING VESSEL. extra damage. extra life steal = extra tankiness.

lvl 7: OSSEIN RENEWAL. when entering a fight, I typically pop this at 50% HP OR ~70% HP depending on circumstances. think of it as added tankiness.

lvl 10: MARCH OF THE BLACK KING. Only pop this when you have enemy heros in a relatively straight line pursuing you or someone near you, else u greatly risk wasting it.

lvl 13: SPELLS SHIELD for some extra tankiness. Is Highly Recommended.
OR CRUSHING HOPE if u find you need more DD during team fights. Less recommended.

lvl 16: CONSUME VITALITY further adds to your lifesteal which means more tankiness. Is Highly Recommended.
Renewed Swing may be gotten instead for extra DD/ minion clearing. Less recommended.

lvl 20: DEATH MARCH. This is a borderline aoe life leech skill, which will allow you to go 1 v 5 for about ~10-15 seconds if u follow it up with another drain hope and hp renewal swing while remembering to pop you ossein renewal. Great to initiate a teamfight. Typically within that time (~10-15 seconds), in a 1 v 5 battle, I can kill 1-3 enemy heroes depending on enemy composition and player skill.(# of kills typically depends on if healer dies first, runs away, or ults) In a team fight, this is devastating for enemy team if you connect a hit on 4-5 enemy heroes.

General game plan/strategy: Pick a lane, kill minions with the express purpose of farming the healing/renewal globes. When entering battle with an enemy hero, Back up, hop on your mount and run full speed into melee range within enemy hero. attack with q, follow up with w. YOU MUST LAND YOUR W!!!!!! If you do not LAND YOUR W, you'll probly get spanked. badly. If things get dicey, run away/escape with e. save your e for escapes. Remember your purpose is to control the lane/farm globes not kill heroes. So don't get greedy, it'll probly get u killed. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD ONLY DO LANE. Be a good teammate and be helpful whenever asked/pinged. U can bully almost any hero in lane using this strategy. Don't be afraid to go back to a well or teleport to base to HEAL UP if you get low on health. When not fighting, be sure to HIT Z and mount up. Get in the habit if hitting z whenever you aren't swinging at stuff...things will go smoother for everyone.

CHEESE ALERT:
At lvl 20 with 60+ hp regen from globes, if desperate, u can backdoor an enemy core. Without Abather, expect to die ~3+ times if they pull their party back to stop you from wrecking their core. With Abather you'll be near immortal. You might die once or twice, then get back up 15-20 seconds later. While dead, hit enemy heros and minions, use ossein renewal to ridiculously lower your respawn times to ~20 seconds LOL. once u respawn pop your ult on the core making sure to hit at least 1 hero. use q on the core and w on any nearby heroes to survive longer. Typically enemy teams will be forced to keep BOTH their DD's back to stop you, allowing your team time to farm stuff, get objectives, win team fights and in general make a comeback. If you do this, you will feel dirty. You must take a shower to get the dirtiness off of you. Excessive showering is bad for you, so avoid doing it at all costs.

Lvl 1: Hopelessness: that extended range will allow u to be able to play like a ranged character XD
lvl 4: willing vessel. extra damage. extra life steal = extra tankiness.
lvl 7: ossein renewal when entering a fight, I typically pop this at 50% HP OR ~70% HP depending on circumstances.
OR select Ghostly Reach for extended range on your Q (and extra dd on clearing lane minions).
lvl 10: Entomb.
lvl 13: Crushing Hope for Extra DD. Preferred.
OR SPELLS SHIELD for some extra tankiness if you find you're too squishy.
OR DRAIN Momentum if u find you need more movement speed to help with enemy hero kills.
lvl 16: Renewed Swing may be gotten for extra crowd clearing and a slight bump in DD.
OR Unyielding Despair to help recast life leeches faster in enemy fights.
lvl 20: Buried Alive for extra DD and hero damage.
OR HARDENED SHIELD for extra tankiness.

General game plan/strategy:
Play like a ranged character who is willing to step in the way of incoming attacks to save friendly heroes, or a ranged character looking to trap/separate a particular enemy hero for an assassination attempt. Look to trap an enemy squishy using the graveyard ULT for team kills, OR use the graveyard ult as an obstacle between an enemy and an in-danger-of-being-assassinated friendly hero. Typically during a retreat hang back to absorb damage to help your friendlies get away, pop your graveyard ult - then ghost walk through it to get away yourself XD.

Things to be aware of: Top

Things to be aware of:

In general you dont like seeing heroes across from you in lane who are: Ranged, quick heroes. Heroes with pushback q or w attacks (they have a tendancy to waste your w, and by proxy your tankiness). You don't mind seeing stun characters like Muradin, because it doesn't interrupt your w skill; Just be sure to land W first. If you see 2 Burst damage characters across from you, know they can probly kill you faster than you can tank, so ask for help or don't engage if you can help it.
