Soldier: 76 (Completed)

Former Commander

Jack Morrison Aka Sodlier: 76 is a long ranged assassin whom specializes in heavy burst damage while also semi-supporting himself and his group with his Biotic Field

Soldier: 76 works much like Raynor. Having a hidden title of "Mr.Point and Click" + he only needs to "show up" to get anything done.

His kit allows him to burst down targets quickly, stay in the heat of combat and also maintaining the option to escape should things turn for the worse.

Soldier: 76's design is ment for him to become a secondary Raynor aka 1 more character for players to ease themselves into the game with.

Baste stats:


- Base Health: 1398 (+4 %)
- Health regen: 2.98 (+4 %)


- Energy: 500
- Energy regen: 3


- Speed: 4.39

Basic attack:


Soldier: 76's basic attack is rapid fire shots from his Heavy Pulse Rifle. Unlike in Overwatch - there is no reload fix to his weapon.

- Base damage: 131 (+4 %)
- Attack speed: 1.20
- Attack range: 6

Combat Trait

D - Battle Momentum
For each 3 seconds Soldier: 76 Remains in active combat. (Actively Basic Attacking units or using abilities) he will gain 1% basic attack damage and attack speed, stacking til a maximum of 10%

His Battle momentum will fade entirely should he be hard CC'd (Like stuns or fears) but it will not drop of by lighter CC like slows or roots.

Once Soldier: 76 stops basic attacking or does not use any abilities for 2 seconds: his Battle momentum will start to decay by 1% per second.

Battle Momentum can not be triggered / refreshed / extended by using E - Sprint.

There will be a timer / tracker next to Soldier: 76's portrait that let's him track his trait's progress.

Primary Abilities

Q - Helix Rockets
Fire 3 Helix Rockets to the targeted location.

The Rockets will rather explode upon impact at the targeted location or will damage any hostile unit which may stand in the rockets path.

The Rockets deals splash damage around the point of impact / the target hit and will do a minor knock-back when exploding.

Mana cost: 65
Cooldown: 10 Seconds.

W - Biotic Field
Instantly deploy a Biotic Field at the feet of Soldier: 76.

The Biotic Field will cover a small area on the ground and will heal any friendly units within the area for 4% of their total HP for each second they remain within the area.

The Biotic Field lasts for 5 seconds and can not be destroyed by hostile units or area damage.

Mana cost: 55
Cooldown: 16 Seconds.

E - Sprint
Activate to gain 20% movement speed. This effect lasts until the ability is used again.

Using Basic Attack or any ability will cancel this sprint and place it on a 1.5 second cooldown.

Mana cost: 0
Cooldown: (If stopped manually): 0 Seconds.
Cooldown: (If basic attacking or using a ability): 1.5 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

R - Tactical Visor
Once active: Soldier: 76's basic attack range is removed and is only limited by his field of vision, fog of war and terrain.

While the Visor is active: he can freely basic attack anything hostile as long as the path between said hostile unit and Soldier: 76 is not blocked by fog of war or terrain.

If Soldier: 76's target escapes past the fog of war or rounds terrain to drop his sight - Soldier: 76 will automatically swap to any other hostile target in sight.

Enemy heroes will always be prioritized over minions.

Soldier: 76 can swap targets manually by right clicking them.

While Tactical Visor is active: Helix Rockets are heat seeking and can be launched at a selected target as long as there is no fog of war between them and Soldier: 76.

The Tactical Visor lasts for 6 seconds.

Mana cost: 110
Cooldown: 90 seconds.

R - Helix Rain
Mark a selected area which will be bombarded by Helix Rockets for 10 seconds.

Hostile units entering the area will take damage from 1 rocket per second.

These rockets also deals splash damage and knocks targets.

Only 3 heroes can take damage at once while within this area but minions, mercenaries and structures will all be bombarded.

Mana cost: 120
Cooldown: 120 seconds.

Talents

Level 1


- Daddy 76: Boitic Field heals for 2% more per second.

- Seasoned Marksman: For every 6 enemy Minion or captured Mercenary kills near your Hero, gain 1 Basic Attack damage. Hero Takedowns count as 3 Minion kills.

- My way or the High way (Activate): Passive: Increases your damage to Minions and Mercenaries. Activate: Instantly defeat 2 mercenaries. 45 second cooldown.

- Veteran Vision: Increases your view distance by 5%

Level 4


- Strategic Assault: After using an ability - your next basic attack against a enemy hero is increased by 50%. This effect has a 6 second cool down.

- Biotic Rounds: Basic attacks heal for 10% of the damage dealt to the enemy.

- On fire: Helix Rockets cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds if it directly hits a enemy target.

Level 7


- And Oregano: Helix Rockets deals damage in a wider area.

- Escape Artist: Activating Sprint will now remove snare and slow effects. 30 second cooldown.

- Biotic expandation: Biotic Field grows in size for each seconds it is active.

- Biotic Resistance: While within the Biotic Field area: allied units takes 20% less damage.

Level 10 (Ultimates - R)



- Tactical Visor.

- Helix Rain.


Level 13


- Giant Killer: Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes deal bonus damage equal to 1.5% of the Hero's maximum Health.

- Propper explosives: Helix Rockets knock effect is increased.

- Come with me: When Sprint is active - nearby allied heroes also gains 10% movement speed.

- Keep getting back up: Stuns and fears have a 50% reduced effect on you.

Level 16


- Unstoppable: Sprint is no longer placed on a 1.5 second cooldown if using basic attack or abilities.

- Arching Shot: Helix Rockets now fires spread out in a arch and has 1 separate impact point for each of the 3 rockets.

- Stay down: Taking direct damage from Helix Rockets (Not the area / splash damage) will stun the target for 1 second.

- Swift Strike (Activate): Hit the target with your Heavy Pulse Rifle, stunning it for 0.5 seconds. 30 Second cooldown.

Level 20



- Enhanced Visor: Tactical Visor now last for 6 more seconds and boosts your attack speed by 40%

- Helix Bombardment: Helix Rain now lasts for 4 more seconds and can damage 1 additional hero.

- Get off my point: While within moderate proximity of an objective - your abilities recharge 20% faster.

- Nexus Frenzy: Increases Attack Speed by 20% and Attack Range by 20%.

- Bolt of the Storm: Activate to teleport to a nearby location.

Master Skin: Since non of the Legendary Skins for Soldier: 76 from Overwatch fals to my taste - i figured that modified versions of his "Collectors Edition" skin would be cooler.

Sidenote

Yes. I know that among my current concepts this is one of the less creative ones and also the only one where I have DIRECTLY copy-pasted standard talents from the game onto a hero - Yet my goal with Soldier: 76 was not to make something new or refreshing, like i said at the start of this post: he is made to be a "Mr.Point and Click" / Raynor V2. A easy hero to settle into the game with.

Battle-Momentum remember me at the old hatred-stacks of Valla. Also the name is allready used for a generic level 7-talent.

Sprint is like a better mount. Why the player should use the mount-ability then?

The Sprints movement speed is still about 10% slower than a mount and it's intended use is mostly for "Getting out" of combat as you can't mount in combat + the Sprint has a somewhat drawback in combat unless talented.

I actually forgot that Battle-Momentum was a generic talent name. As for my idèa for the trait - it was mostly to have something that wasn't as "passive" as Raynors trait while still making sennce. I also haven't touched Valla since forever. (She was like my second char to hit level 10 way back when the game launched) so I kinda forgot that it could seem alike.

I f***ed up. I was imagining that mounted speed was 40% not 30%. Nerfed his Sprint accordingly now.
