Abathur

Abathur (Changes/Rework) Concept

Abathur, the Evolution Master of Kerrigan's Swarm, works ceaselessly to improve the zerg from the genetic level up. His hate for chaos and imperfection almost rivals his hatred of pronouns.

Combat Trait

1
Locust Strain
Spawns a Locust to attack down the nearest lane every 15 seconds. Locusts last for 30 seconds, have 316 (+4% per level) health and deal 34 (+4% per level) damage with each Basic Attack.

~New: Locusts last now 30 seconds instead of 25.

Primary Abilities

(Q) Symbiote
Spawn and attach a Symbiote to a target ally or Structure. While active, Abathur controls the Symbiote, gaining access to new Abilities. The Symbiote is able to gain XP from nearby enemy deaths.


~New: Cooldown reduced from 4 to 3 seconds

(W) Toxic Nest
Spawn a mine that becomes active after a short time. Deals 153 (+4% per level) damage and reveals the enemy for 4 seconds. Lasts 90 seconds.

~New: Toxic Nest's range Increased to global and the duration is decreased from 90 to 80 seconds.

(E) MULE ~New
~ Mule is in the Basekit now
Activate to calldown a Mule that repairs Structures, one at a time, near target point for 40 seconds, healing for 100 Health every 1 second.
~ Change the Mule into something more Zerg fiting.

Secondary Abilities

Shoots a spike towards target area that deals 119 (+4% per level) damage to the first enemy it contacts.

(W) Spike Burst
Deals 120 (+4% per level) damage to nearby enemies.

(E) Carapace
Shields the assisted ally for 157 (+4% per level). Lasts for 8 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

(R) Ultimate Evolution
Clone target Hero and control it for 20 seconds. Abathur has perfected the clone, granting it 20% Spell Power, 20% bonus Attack Damage, and 10% bonus Movement Speed. Cannot use their Heroic Ability.


~New Function: The Ultimate Evolution clones deal 137 (+4% per level) damage to nearby enemies every 3 seconds and when they die.

(R) Evolve Monstrosity
Turn an allied Minion or Locust into a Monstrosity. When enemy Minions near the Monstrosity die, it gains 5% Health and 5% Basic Attack damage, stacking up to 40 times. The Monstrosity takes 50% less damage from non-Heroic enemies.

Using Symbiote on the Monstrosity allows Abathur to control it, in addition to Symbiote's normal benefits. This Ability can be reactivated to automatically cast Symbiote on his Monstrosity.


~New Function: Monstrosity gains the ability to Deep Tunnel to any visible location once every 60 seconds

~New Passive: Reduce the Cooldown of Mule from 60 seconds to 45 seconds.

Pressurized Glands
Increases the range of Symbiote's Spike Burst by 25% and decreases the cooldown by 1 second.


Survival Instincts
Increases Locust's Health by 50% and duration by 40%.
~New: Health increased from 40% to 50%


Regenerative Microbes
Symbiote's Carapace heals the target for 68 (+4% per level) Health per second over 4 seconds.


Prolific Dispersal (moved from Level 4)
Reduces the cooldown of Toxic Nest by 2 seconds and adds 2 additional charges.

Level 4

Envenomed Nest (moved from Level 1)
Toxic Nests deal 75% more damage over 3 seconds.


Assault Strain (moved from Level 13)
Locust explode on death for 102 (+4% per level) damage.
~New: Locust's also gain 25 Spell Armor and deal 25% aoe Damage with their Range Attacks


~New: Ability Overload
Symbiote host gains 15% increased Ability Damage.


Adrenal Overload
Symbiote host gains 30% increased Attack Speed.
~New: Attack Speed increased from 25% to 30%

Level 7

Needlespine
Increases the damage by 25% and range by 20% of Symbiote's Stab.
~New: Damage increased from 20% to 25%


Vile Nest
Toxic Nests slow enemy Movement Speed by 40% for 2.5 seconds.


Networked Carapace (moved from Level 7)
Using Symbiote's Carapace also applies an untalented Carapace Shield to all nearby allied Heroes, Minions, Mercenaries and "Locust".
~New: Also applies on all nearby Locust.


Bombard Strain
Locust's Basic Attacks become a long-range siege attack that deal 60% more damage.
~New: Damage decreased from 70% to 60%

Level 13

Sustained Carapace (moved from Level 4)
Increases the Shield amount of Symbiote's Carapace by 50% and allows it to persist after Symbiote ends.
~New: Shield amount increased from 40% to 50%


Locust Brood (moved from Level 16)
Activate to spawn 3 Locusts at a nearby location.
~New Passive: Reduce the Cooldown of LOCUST STRAIN by 1 Second.


Spatial Efficiency
Symbiote's Stab gains 1 additional charge and its Cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds.


Soma Transference
Symbiote's Spike Burst heals the host for 64 (+4% per level) Health per enemy Hero hit.

Level 16

Envenomed Spikes
Abathur's Symbiote's Spike Burst slows enemy Movement Speed by 30% for 2 seconds.
~New: Slow is decreased from 40% to 30% but Damage is increased by 20%.


Adrenaline Boost
Symbiote's Carapace increases the Movement Speed of the target by 40% for 3.5 seconds.


Locust Nest (moved from Level 20)
Activate to create a nest that periodically spawns Locusts. Only one Locust Nest can be active at a time.
~New Passive: Reduce the Cooldown of LOCUST STRAIN by 1 Second


~New Piercing Needles:
Stab penetrate through everything

Level 20

Evolutionary Link
As long as the Ultimate Evolution is alive, the original ally target of the clone gains a Shield equal to 25% of their maximum Health. Refreshes every 5 seconds.
~New Function: The ally also gains +25% Attack Speed and 10% Ability "Power".


Evolution Complete
~New Function: Cooldown is reduced from 90 to 45 seconds and you can have now 2x Monstrosity at once.


Hivemind
Symbiote creates an additional Symbiote on a nearby allied Hero. This Symbiote mimics the commands of the first, but does 60% damage and shielding.
~New: The additional Symbiote does 60% of the Damage and shielding.


~New: Locust Mines
Mines become active 50% faster and spawn a Locust when they explode.


~New: Epic Mule
Reduce the Cooldown from 60 to 30 seconds, increase the Health of the Mule by 200%. Abathur is now also able to move the Mule at normal Hero Movementspeed around with Symbiote. Only one Mule can be active at a time.
