Argus the Unmaker

The World Soul

Argus the Unmaker was once a noble world soul living inside the homeworld of eredar race, until he was bound by Sargeras and used as a fuel for Burning Legion's war machine. Now his mind and soul are twisted by ages of endless torment.

Argus is a melee assassin, specializing in area control and devastating his enemies with deadly attacks.

Combat Trait

Soulrending Scythe
Combat Trait

Argus' Basic Attacks deal 100% of their damage in a half-circle in front of him. In addition whenever he hits Heroes with Attacks, Argus gains stack of Soulrending Scythe for 6 sec, which adds 7 bonus damage to his Attacks per stack. Argus can hold Maximum of 15 stacks of Soulrending Scythe.
Quest: Whenever Argus reaches 15 stacks of Sweeping Scythe, he gains a stack of Rent Soul, which increases damage done by Soulrending Scythe to Heroes by 1%.
Reward: After gaining 30 stacks of Rent Soul, duration of Soulrending Scythe is increased by 50%, and it deals 15% increased damage against Heroes.

Argus stikes the ground in rage, dealing 178 (+4% per level) damage to all nearby enemies. Damage is increased by 1% for every 2% of his maximum Health missing.

Unmaker's Grasp (W)
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 12 sec

Cleaves enemies in a large frontal cone, dealing 124 (+4% per level) damage to enemies and pulling all Heroes hit to Argus. Each enemy Hero hit grants a stack of Sweeping Scythe.

Edge of Obliteration (E)
Mana: 70
Cooldown: 16 sec

Manifests a scythe of dark energy on his current location for 6 sec. Scythe spins dealing 30 (+4% per level) damage every second, and can be recast to travel in line, dealing 130 (+4 per level) damage to enemies hit.

Argus grasps all enemy Heroes in a small area, putting them in a Time Stop for 1,5 seconds. After 1 second, Argus can reactivate to harvest souls of all Heroes in a large half-circle, dealing damage equal to 40% of their missing Health. Extinguish Life ignores all Armor.

Volatile Soul (R2)
Heroic Ability
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 80 sec.

Argus exposes volatility in living soul of a chosen enemy Hero, dealing 132 (+4% per level) damage to him over 5 sec. When effect expires or player dies, Volatile Soul deals additional 284 (+4% per level) damage to all other enemy Heroes in a large area. Volatile Soul can't be removed before it expires and it ignores all Armor.

Talent Tree:

Tier 1/Level 1:



(Passive) Death Fog:

Dealing damage to Heroes with Abilities causes them to take additional 54 (+4% per level) damage over 6 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times. Upon expiration with 3 stacks, a pool of Death Fog is created on Hero's current location, that deals 156 (+4% per level) damage over 3 seconds.

(Passive) Embers of Rage:

Argus deals 14 (+4% per level) damage every sec to nearby enemies. Each stack of Soulrending Scythe increases damage by 8%.

(Passive) Hungering Scythe:

Takedown instantly grant Argus 15 stacks of Soulrending Scythe and extand its duration by 2 sec.




Tier 2/Level 4:



(E) Dread Reach:

Quest: Hitting enemy Heroes with Edge of Obliteration increases its damage by 3, up to 90. Progress is lost upon death.
Reward: After hitting 15 Heroes, increase Edge of Obliteration's area by 15%.
Reward: After hitting 30 Heroes, increase Edge of Obliteration's range by 15% and you no longer lose progress upon death.

(E) Hand of Death:

Edge of Obliteration deals additional damage equal to 2% of Hero's maximum health.

(W) Tormentor's Blade:

Each enemy Hero pulled by Unmaker's Grasp increases damage done by Argus' Basic Attacks by 5% for 6 seconds, up to 25%.


Tier 3/Level 7:




(Passive) Deadly Scythe:

Basic Attack deals damage equal to 2% of Hero's maximum health when striking only one target.

(Q) Growing Rage:

Each stack of Soulrending Scythe also affects damage done by Tortured Rage.

(W) Shadow's Grasp:

Heroes pulled by Unmaker's Grasp are slowed by 30% for 3 seconds.


Tier 4/Level 10:



(R1) Extinguish Life:

Tier 5/Level 13:



(Q) Chains of Argus:

Unmaker's Grasp reduces damage done of enemy Heroes hit by 20% for 3 sec.

(Passive) Hunger for Life:

Basic Attacks heal Argus for 50% of the damage done by Soulrending Scythe.

(Activate) Arcane Bulwark:

Channel to gain 60 Armor for 4 seconds. Cooldown: 60 sec.



Tier 6/Level 16:



(Q) Devastation:

Range of Tortured Rage is increased by 25% and enemy Heroes hit are Stunned for 0.5 sec, but cooldown is increased by 2 sec.

(Passive) :

Pulling enemy Heroes with Unmaker's Grasp increases damage of next Tortured Rage by 3%. Damaging Heroes with Tortured Rage reduces cooldown of Unmaker's Grasp by 1,5 sec.

(E) Edge of Annihilation:

Everytime Edge of Obliteration hits an enemy Hero, its duration is increased by 1,5 sec and cooldown of next Edge of Obliteration is reduced by 1 sec.





Tier 7/Level 20:



(R1) Unmaking of Creation:

Hero that survive Extinguish Life are Silenced for 1,5 seconds. Extinguish Life heals Argus for 30% of all damage done.

(R2) Darkened Spirits:

When Volatile Soul detonates, it spreads Volatile Soul to other enemy Heroes hit for 25% of its original damage.

(D) End of All Things:

Soulrending Scythe allows Argus to switch between Heroic Abilites at the cost of next respawn time being increased by 15%. This ability is usable once Soulrending Scythe quest is completed. Cooldown: 100 sec.

(E) Scythe of the Unmaker:

Whenever Edge of Obliteration is recast, it duplicates itself on its previous location. Edge's copies expire together with original Edge of Obliteration.

This seems like an interesting concept for a bruiser/assassin, but seems very weak for someone called The Unmaker. I feel like he should have a more unique, dominating playstyle, perhaps functioning more as a specialist or a tank than an assassin, with huge, impactful abilities. His passive and Tortured Rage really seem to capture the feel of a destructive, primal force like a titan, so I'd work from there. Very unique character idea, good job!
