Artanis - Rework

Hierarch of the Daelaam

Despite his relative youth, Artanis was named Hierarch of the Daelaam after the fall of Aiur. Driven by the promise of a brighter future, he hopes to reclaim the protoss' fallen homeworld and rebuild their once glorious civilization.

Why rework Artanis?
I always love Artanis and his gameplay. A hyperaggressive self-sustain bruiser which can deal a lot of damage if he is supported by his team. So, I made this rework because I think he is not competitive enough. Professional player knows how to deflect Artanis easily. Moreover, Artanis need to be more versatile to offer more than others Bruiser / Solo laner / melee carry. Sonya, Yrel or even Blaze can do much better than Artanis now. As an example, he is only picked on Battlefield of Eternity for his level 1! So, in this Rework, I wanted to increase his skill cap and his use in team fights to give Artanis a chance to prove himself as the GameBreaker he meant to be! I don't know if those changes are balanced or if they will make Artanis playable at high-level, but I think those changes can definitely be interesting.

All change will be in Blue.
Explanation will be in *Gold*.

Combat Trait

1
Shield Overload
Cooldown : 24 Seconds
After taking damage while below 75% Health grants Artanis a 375 (+4% per level) point Shield for 5 seconds. Basic Attacks lower the cooldown of Shield Overload by 4 seconds. While Shield Overload is active, deal 20 (+4% per level) damage per second to nearby enemies.

*A small up for his solo lane*

Primary Abilities

1
Blade Dash
Cooldown : 10 Seconds
Mana: 50
Dash forward and deal 57 (+4% per level) damage to enemies, then return and deal 171 (+4% per level) damage. Every enemy hit reduces the cooldown on Shield Overload by 1 second, and Heroes by 2 seconds. Can be reactivate to cancel second dash.

*This change will give a real escape to Artanis and also increase his mobility in team fight*
2
Twin Blades
Cooldown : 4 Seconds
Mana : 25
Artanis's next Basic Attack immediately causes him to charge a short distance and strike the enemy 2 times.
Using Twin Blades grants 50 Physical Armor against the next source of Physical damage for 6 seconds, reducing its damage by 50%. Twin Blades attacks deal 100% bonus damage to non-Heroes.

*Integrate Amateur Opponent and Reactive Parry as a nerf version allow us to create new cool talents at level 1*

New Quest

Quest : Hitting Heroes with Twin Blades increase Twin Blades' charge distance by 1% and hitting Heroes with Phase Prism increase Twin Blades' charge distance by 3 %, up to 100%.
Reward : When 100% is reach, Killing an ennemy with Twin Blades will give Artanis 20% movment speed for 4 seconds.

*I think that integrate Zealot Charge baseline as a quest, would be really intreasting, to give him a lot more mobility and make Artanis way funnier to play. Furthermore giving him a play making mechanic could increase his skillcap and, maybe make him competitive*
3
Phase Prism
Cooldown : 16 Seconds
Mana: 70
Fire a Phase Prism that deals 66 (+4% per level) damage to the first Hero hit and swaps Artanis's position with theirs. Can be used during Blade Dash.

Heroic Abilities

1
Purifier Beam
Cooldown: 80 Seconds
Mana: 80
Target an enemy Hero with an orbital beam from the Spear of Adun, dealing 184 (+4% per level) damage per second for 8 seconds. The beam will chase the target as they move. Unlimited range.
2
Suppression Pulse
Cooldown: 50 Seconds
Mana: 40
Fire a large area pulse from the Spear of Adun, dealing 114 (+4% per level) damage and Blinding enemies for 4 seconds. Unlimited range.

Talents

Level 1

New Talents :

[E] Perfect Prism : Increase the bonus of Twin Blades' charge distance grant by Phase Prism from 3% to 6%.

Quest : Hit Heroes with Phase Prism
Reward : After 5 Heroes hit, increase the damage of Phase Prism by 125%.
Reward : After 10 Heroes hit, Phase Prism now can pulls and damages an additional enemy Hero near the first.
Reward : After 15 Heroes hit, Phase Prism reduce the damage of the ennemy Heroe by 15% for 3 seconds.
Reward : After 20 Heroes hit, Phase Prism silence for 1 seconds.

[Activable] Templars' will : Increase the bonus of damage againt non-Heroes enemy of Twin Blades from 100% to 150%

Quest : Everytime you hit an enemy with Twin Blades you gain 0.2 Attack Damage and 0.5 if it's a Hero. Takedowns grants 1 Attack Damage.
Templars' Will can be activate to make Artanis's next 3 Basic Attack immediately causes him to charge a short distance, also increase your Attack Speed by the same amount of bonus Attack Damage, up to 40%. 60 second cooldown.

Move from Level 7

[Q] Solarite Reaper : Increase the cooldown reduction of Shield Overload from 1 second to 1,5 second.

Quest : Hitting enemies with Blade Dash Increases the damage of the first dash of Blade Dash by 0,5% and 1% if it's a Hero, up to 150%
Reward : After reaching a bonus of 50%, Blade Dash slow ennemies by 15% for 3 seconds, can be stack 2 time.
Reward : After reaching a bonus of 100%, if Blade Dash is recast, stun nearby enemy Heroes by 0,25 second and reduce Shield Overload by 1 second for each Heroes hit.
Reward : After reaching a bonus of 150%, Using Blade Dash activate Twin Blades for free.

*Artanis' Current level 1 talents are not really funny and Amateur Opponent is way too strong to be ignored. I wanted to give him some quest to give him more damage or control. Moreover, I think this will give Artanis the opportunity to create builds base on one of his ability and have some cool synergy between his other talents*

Level 4

[E] Psionic Synergy : Hitting an enemy Hero with Phase Prism grants 20 Armor for 3 seconds.

[Trait] Shield Battery : Shield Overload's cooldown recharges 100% faster while its Shield is active, and the Shield duration is increased by 1 second.

[Trait] Shield Surge : Increases Shield Overload's Shields by 75% while below 25% Health.
If the shield is destroy, reduce the Attack speed of nearby enemy Heroes by 15%.

Level 7

New Talent :
[E] Psionic Wound : Phase Prism lowers a Hero's Armor by 15 for 4 seconds and Twin Blades final strike lowers a Hero's Armor by 5 for 2 seconds.
Passive : After using an Ability, your next Basic Attack within 6 seconds deals 40% additional damage. After using Phase Prism this bonus is increase to 80% dditional damage.

[E] Warp Sickness : Phase Prism also slows the enemy's Movement Speed by 35% for 4 seconds.

[E] Chrono Surge : Hitting an enemy Hero with Phase Prism grants 75% bonus Attack Speed for 5 seconds. Allow Artanis's next 3 Basic Attack immediately causes him to charge a short distance, if the 3 Attack hit the target of Phase Prism, reduce the cooldown of Shield Overload by 2 seconds.

*This talent tier need to be changed! Warp Sickness is way better than Follow Through or the current Chrono Surge which is too situational. Moreover the old talent Psionic Wound was fun but too weak for a level 16, so combine Follow Through with a new version of Psionic Wound could give Artanis more burst damage and provide more utility for his team while giving a focus after a swap. So we've got Psionic Wound for teh burst, Warp Sickness for the control and Chrono Surge for the sunstain damage and survivability. Every one of those talents got a synergy with Graviton Vortex at level 13 and create a real Phase Prism build.*

Level 13

[Q] Templar's Zeal : Reduce the Mana cost of Blade Dash from 50 to 25. Each time that Shield Overload activates, reduce the cooldown of Blade Dash by 5 seconds. Artanis is Unstoppable during the first dash of Blade Dash.

[Z/W] Triple Strike : Increases Twin Blades's number of Basic Attacks to 3, but increase its cooldown by 1 second.

[E] Graviton Vortex : Reduce the Mana cost of Phase Prism from 70 to 35. Hitting an enemy Hero with Basic Attacks or Blade Dash reduces the cooldown of Phase Prism by 1.25 seconds.

[Trait] Phase Bulwark : Shield Overload grants 50 Spell Armor while active and for 2 seconds after it expires.

Level 16

[Z/W] Titan Killer : Basic Attacks against Heroes deal an bonus damage equal to 0.50% of the target's maximum Health in damage, increased to 1.50% when empowered by Twin Blades.

[Trait] Force of Will : Casting Basic Abilities reduces the cooldown of Shield Overload by 5 seconds.

[Passive] Blades of a Templar : Increase Attack Speed by 30%. Basic Attacks Slow by 20% for 1.25 seconds.

Level 20

[R1] Orbital Bombardment : Suppression Pulse gains an additional charge. There is a 10 second cooldown between uses.
Artanis can teleport to the center of the pulse within 4 second follow its landing. This effect have a 60 seconds cooldown

[R2] Target Purified : Increase the speed, damage and radius of Purifier Beam by 15%. If the target of Purifier Beam dies, it automatically recasts on the next visible enemy Hero and increase permanently its duration by 1 second. While Purifier Beam is active, gain 20% spell power.

[Trait] Plasma Burn : Increase the damage of Shield Overload by 250% and keep dealing damage 2 seconds after it expires, also, at its activation, it trigger an explosion, dealing 140 damage to nearby enemies
