Atramedes

The Blind Hunter

Atramedes is a semi-tanky, slow assassin who revolves around slowly burning down the enemy and putting them at great disadvantages. He isn't your conventional "solo-lane, high damage squishies", but more-so a heavy bruiser akin to The Butcher, who requires aid in Early Game, but can decimate and provide powerful utility in Late Game.

Strengths: Ganking, Jungling

Weaknesses: CC, Laning

Excels Against: Single-Target High Damage Assassins, like Valla or Falstad and Immobile Specialists, like Nazeebo or Sgt. Hammer

Struggles Against: Bruisers, like Artanis and Ragnaros

Note: Whilst some of Atramedes' abilties are based off of his fight, I took some creative liberties and created a few abilities I felt would be fun.

LEVEL 1 BASE STATS

Health: 1,800 (+5.0% per lvl)
Health Regen: 3 (+5.0% per lvl)
Mana: 500 (+12 per lvl)
Mana Regen: 3.5 (+10% per lvl)
Attack Speed: 1 per second
Damage: 200 (+5.0 per lvl)

Combat Trait

1
Passive - Keen Senses
Atramedes vision is limited to only his melee range. Whenever an enemy comes in melee range of Atramedes, is damaged by one of Atramedes' abilities, or damages you, that enemy becomes revealed and takes 10% additional damage from Atramedes.

Atramedes cannot see ally vision radius or other vision granting abilities.

Primary Abilities

1
Q - Horrid Screech
Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Mana Cost: 40 Mana

Atramedes' screams in front of him, producing a sound wave have that does moderate damage and passes through non-heroic monsters until it hits terrain, a structure, or a enemy hero. When the sound wave hits an enemy hero, it bounces back to the same direction it was fired. Horrid Screech passes through terrain.

If Atramedes collects the rebounding wave, he and his allied teammates will gain vision of the enemy hero that was originally hit for ~10 seconds.
2
W - Tail Lash
Cooldown: 8 Seconds
Mana Cost: 20 Mana

Atramedes quickly swipes in a cone behind himself, dealing moderate damage and knocking back enemies.
3
E - Ambush
Cooldown: 20 Seconds
Mana Cost: 80 Mana

Atramedes selects an enemy and jumps to them, dealing light damage and silencing in a small radius around the target. Ambush can go over terrain.

Heroic Abilities

1
R - Eclipse
Cooldown: 100 Seconds
Mana Cost: 100 Mana

Atramedes causes all enemy hero's vision range to be reduced to melee range, but they do not benefit from Atramedes passive. This lasts for 3 seconds.

Think a Team-wide Dehaka ult, but without the slow.
2
R - Modulation
Cooldown: 70 Seconds
Mana Cost: 150-200 Mana

Atramedes channels for 2-5 seconds. He then stops moving and unleashes a bellowing screech around himself once every second, creating a circular sound wave that grows larger as it radiates out and deals moderate damage. Enemies hit have their Movement Speed reduced by 20%.

Special Mount

1
Z - Take Flight
Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Mana Cost: None

Atramedes immediately takes off into the air, hovering over the ground. Atramedes can fly and "see" over terrain, but can be targeted and being attacked will force him to dismount.

It works similarly to Medivh's Raven Form, but has no channel and Atramedes is targetable whilst mounted.

Level 1 Talents

Keen Sense of Hearing - Passive
When heroes, minions, and mercs perform an action, they produce a sound blip that lasts for 1.5 seconds. Atramedes can sense these sound blips twice the size of a hero's normal vision radius.

Keen Sense of Smell - Passive
If an enemy hero is below 50% health, they are inflicted with Crippled Prey. Crippled Prey causes a red trail to follow the afflicted hero from the location they were brought down to 50% health until the hero is healed to above 50% or killed. Atramedes does an additional 10% more damage to heroes afflicted with Crippled Prey and his basic abilities have an additional effect.

Horrid Screech will have a red rebounding sound wave that increases Atramedes' move speed by 10% for 3 seconds.

Tail Lash stuns the target for 1 seconds.

Ambush reduces the target's Movement Speed by 20% for 3 seconds.

Keen Sense of Taste - Passive
Whenever Atramedes autoattacks or hits an enemy with an ability, they are revealed for 10 seconds. Atramedes does an additional 10% increased damage to disabled heroes.

Level 4 Talents

Wretched Screech
When Horrid Screech hits an enemy hero, it rebounds as 3 sound waves that damage the first enemy struck or can be collected by Atramedes. Atramedes may collect 3 sound waves, each increasing the duration of the enemy hero's revealed status by 10 seconds.

Flexible Vertebrae
Tail Lash affects 360 degrees around Atramedes

To the Darkness
Atramedes can leap to allies as well.

Level 7 Talents

Dwarven Shields
Active - Atramedes can place Dwarven Shields at a certain area with a certain direction. Whenever Horrid Screech hits a Dwarven Shield, it will bounce off depending on the angle of the shield itself.

The good

I love the idea. Im not sold on assassin,I would definitely peg it as specialist however.

Trait- Very intesrting. Gaining additional benefits on abilities is pretty cool based on real time gameplay rather than static passives.
Q- A bounce back skillshot seems really interesting, especially with the limited vision. I like this idea
W- Personally, i wouldnt make it spin. Make that the caveat. A backwards cleave. Could be fun trying to micro around it rather than having it auto turn us. Other than that, seems good
E- Straight foward, nothing flashy, but thats ok. Still does its job
R1- Wonderful, albiet pretty undertuned. Dehaka can do that to a hero +silence them for 6 seconds over 3, on a 60 second cd and possibly hit more people with the 20 upgrade. But the idea of making them blind as you are is nice. Id up the cooldown to 120 seconds and also up the effect to about 8 seconds
Z- A hittable medivh.... Has potential, i can dig it.

The bad

R2- This spells is very...worded poorly. Basically, Thralls earthquake except channeled and stuns? I gotta say i dont like it, espeically with him being a dragon, i feel like theres more you could play on by that fact alone than this. Just imaging a huge dragon do a repeated jump like hes playing jump rope seems really goofy.

Overall- Some abilities are doing too much at a baseline level. I understand you are building off the trait, but things like a 10% slow on Q or minor stun on W can be talents. They arnt pivotal to the actual design of the character itself and make reading descriptions confusing.

I also fear, like I fear for all dragon based heroes, of the model. Dragons are very long creatures, unlike anything else in the nexus. Having a model that long is very hard to fit in a circular hitbox without looking goofy, especially as everything is scaled to size and dragons are supposed to be massive. But albiet, this is just a concept, that things like that arnt that important.

The ugly

The entire layout of the presentation needs work badly. You dont want it to be confusing for the reader. You want it to be clean, simple to read and easy to understand. I had to reread a lot of things and backtrack to understand how things work. The color coding is a helpful tool but you use it too frequently on words such as enemies or cooldown/duration numbers. Me personally, i color code it by 4 things when presenting abilities.

1- Cooldown,Mana
2- Description
3- Notes about the ability
4- Mentions to other abilities

His trait also seems really awkward and doing way too much at one time. The idea is solid but it needs serious rewording and condensing. Make the benefits universal rather than 3 different buffs across 3 different stipulations on TOP of the actual trait itself. Its just too much. It makes it feel like your playing your own minigame rather than, the actual game. Example:

Keen Senses
Passive

Atramedes vision is limited to only his melee range. Whenever an enemy comes in melee range of Atramedes or is damages you by an ability, that enemy becomes revealed and takes % additional damage from Atramedes

Cannot see ally vision radius or other vision granting abilities.

Now while im not saying you have to do it exactly like this, it gets the idea across clean and simple, and still leaves room for talents such as the "smell" aspect of it where you gain vision of enemies below a % threshold.

The entire idea is i should really fear getting caught by him. Trying to not be seen while also killing him, where on the other hand, trying to find your prey as a blind bat is a really fun idea.

Anyway thats what I think so far. I love the ideas, you have a lot of unique things going on, just clean it up to be more clear and presentable in my opinion. Id love to see it more fleshed out.

I understand your points and they are definitely well thought out. As for the awkward wording and what-not, that just comes from my writing style. Its very... fanciful, but I'll see what I can do. As for the layout, this is my first concept and I didn't really plan out what I was doing all to well <XD
But my pet peeves aside, I definitely agree with a lot of what you said and try to fix it up. I really appreciate having someone more experienced at this than me giving some good feedback!
