Baal

Lord Of Destruction

Baal is one of the three brothers who make up the Prime Evils, along with Mephisto and Diablo. In his existence before being imprisoned in the body of Tal Rasha, he was described to be brutish, but seems to indeed have taken on some of the powerful Horadric mage's intelligence after the imprisonment. On encounters with both Marius and the Barbarians, he acts rather playful and sly with a dry sense of humour.

Baal is a ranged specialist that is most comfortable behind the front lines. His trait, 'Sow The Seeds', applies a stacking vulnerability that allows his allied minions, mercenaries, and summoned units to deal increased damage to affected targets. Baal orchestrates this chaos as an overseer; The Lord of Destruction.

Combat Trait

1
Sow The Seeds
Damage that Baal deals against enemy structures, minions, and mercenaries applies a stacking 5% vulnerability; up to 25%. Lasts 5 seconds after being refreshed.

Only friendly non-heroic units benefit from this debuff.

Primary Abilities

1
Festering Appendages
Summon a Festering Appendage at the target location that will attack nearby enemies once every second. Lasts 3 seconds. 3 charges. 12 second cooldown.

Festering Appendages block enemy movement (about the same size as a minion). Multiple Festering Appendages can quickly be applied in a line by using click and drag.

2
Ruination
Corrupt the ground at a small target location, dealing damage every second to enemies on top of it over 3 seconds. 15 second cooldown.

Enemy minions killed by Ruination turn into Suicide Minions. The '1' key can be used to assign a target for these minions, instructing them to run towards the target and explode on contact. Suicide Minions last for 8 seconds.

3
Vile Effigy
Summon a copy of yourself that will mimic your basic attacks and basic abilities for 5 seconds. Vile Effigies do not move from the location they were summoned to. 20 second cooldown.

While active, 50% of all damage dealt to you is redirected to your Vile Effigy while you remain nearby.

Heroic Abilities

1
Lister The Tormentor
Summon Lister The Tormentor to attack your enemies. Lasts 12 seconds. 60 second cooldown.

Lister's basic attacks knock the target back slightly and apply a stacking 8% slow.
2
Hoarfrost
Slow the attack and movement speed of all enemy minions and mercenaries by 25% per second for 4 seconds. After reaching 100% they will freeze solid for 4 seconds. 70 second cooldown. Global range.

Special Mount

Baal mounts in the same manner as Azmodan.

Level 20:
Twisted Lister: Lister's attacks apply an 8% stacking vulnerability to enemy heroes.

Rime:
The effect of Hoarfrost fades over 4 seconds instead of instantly ending, and its cooldown is reduced by 0.2 seconds for each enemy minion or mercenary it affected.

Wake Of Destruction: Increase your movement speed by 1.5% for each enemy unit or structure currently marked with Sow The Seeds.

HOARFROST has quite a weird implementation, kinda feels like off for a heroic IMO. Sylv had even more effective ult than this one and ppl still didn't use. Guess you don't like the V-shaped progressing ice he uses (also called Hoarfrost) but guess could use the ice mechanic in a different manner, perhaps activate it and have your festering freeze/slow targets hit or sth, but usually PvE-only ults don't quite work

It does, but it's a bit of a gamble to use it offensively because it is your only defensive ability and is on a long cooldown.

Really cool concept, but what is his basic attack speed since some of his abilities and talents are affected by it.

Not sure what his basic attack speed would be. I'm more into the general feel of concepts and not so much into the hard numbers.

A couple of questions for your concept:
1. does vile effigy deal damage?
2. if you don't assign a target to the suicide minions do they just attack or auto-suicide on the nearest target?

Vile Effigy does deal damage. If you cast Ruination while you have a Vile Effigy up it will also cast Ruination on the exact same spot. You have to find a balance between summoning a Vile Effigy offensively (to deal more damage) and holding on to it in case you need it defensively (to absorb damage dealt to you and let you escape).

Suicide minions would probably just auto attack targets near them if you didn't assign them a target and then just explode where they are standing when their duration expires. Their much more useful if you send them all at a tower or something.

I see. and how much damage does the Effigy deal? 100%? Also, that's a good implementation of the suicide minions.
