Mech Pilot

Ranged Warrior

D.Va is one of the most popular heroes from Overwatch, and I believe her distinct trait would make for an unique and interesting addition in Heroes of the storm. As was the case of Zarya, some adaptations were made in order to make the concept better applicable (such as the addition of a second heroic ability).

By this concept, D.Va acts as a short-ranged Tank Hero with small damage, good mobility, and great survivability. When she would die, she instead ejects from her Mech and is given a second chance. Outside the Mech, she is way more fragile, but deals higher DPS, making it a risk-reward mechanic. Apart from 2 knockbacks in her base kit, she lacks CC, but some talents gives slow and stun.

Her second, new ultimate, Remote Control, basically gives her Rexxar trait for a duration; she and her Mech act independently. Other than that, she has basically everything that her Overwatch version has: a melee attack (which in this case, knocks enemy away), Defense Matrix, Boosters, and Self-Destruct for ultimate. She cannot move while attacking (same thing as Zarya) unless she picks some talents.

The reason Boosters get greatly reduced cooldown when she is out of combat for a while is to compensate for the lack of mount that the Mech form has. In combat, it is a regular ability with a balanced cooldown; out of combat, she keeps up with mounted Speed by Boosting more often.

Some talents builds involve increasing her Mech resistance, damage, and/or CC. However, some talent builds involve increasing her efficacy outside the Mech.

Combat Trait

Eject / Call Mech
D.Va standard form is inside her Mech, which has considerably high Health but shorter attack range (4.0), higher attack speed but lower overall DPS. D.Va ejects out of her Mech when it is destroyed.

When outside of the Mech, D.Va's basic attack deals more DPS at normal range (5.5), but she has less Health and cannot use her basic abilities.

When outside the Mech, gain Call Mech charges over time and by hitting basic attacks; when Call Mech is at 100% charge, can activate the trait (D key) to summon back her Mech.

Destroying the Mech grants the enemy team 0.25 Takedown, while killing D.Va outside her Mech grants 0.75 Takedown.

Inside the Mech, D'Va cannot mount; outside the Mech, she can Mount as normal.

Primary Abilities

MEKA Bash [Q]
D'Va's Mech bashes a nearby enemy (prioritizing Heroes) with a melee strike using it's cannon. Deal damage to the target, and if it hits a Hero, also knocks the target away from you.

Defense Matrix [W]
Activates a Defensive Matrix in a forward direction, and D'Va's turns around on the same direction of the mouse cursor. The Defensie Matrix negates enemy's ranged basic attacks if that attack would cross the Matrix.

Can toggle on/off, with a total of 4 seconds activation time. While activated, D'Va cannot make basic attacks.

Boosters [E]
Cooldown: ~12 seconds.

D'Va's Mech accelerates and move with increased speed for 2 seconds, moving towards the direction of the mouse cursor for the duration. Enemies in the way are damaged and knocked back.

Can cancel the Boosters activating the E key again. While thrusting, cannot make basic attacks but can use Defense Matrix (W).

If D'Va hasn't been damaged or dealt damage in the past 4 seconds, this ability cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Self-Destruct [R1]
Cooldown: ~90 seconds.

D.Va ejects from her Mech and sets Self-Destruct mode. After a short time, the Mech explodes, dealing high damage in a large area. Gain 20% Call Mech charges for each enemy Hero damaged by the explosion.

Remote Control [R2]
Cooldown: ~130 seconds.

D.Va ejects from her Mech and sets it in Remote Control mode. For ~20 seconds, D.Va and her Mech act as two separate Heroes. You take normal control of D.Va but can use the R key to issue commands to the Mech:

By clicking R on yourself or an allied Hero, the Mech follows that Hero, attacking nearby enemies.
By clicking R on a point in the ground, the Mech moves to that point then holds position, attacking nearby enemies.
By clicking R on an enemy, the Mech follows the target, attacking it.

You can also use the Mech's basic abilities (Q, W, E) as normal.

After the duration ends, the Mech is unsummoned, and you gain Call Mech charges based on how much remaining Health the Mech had (if the Mech ended with 100% Health, you gain 100% Call Mech charges; with 50% Health, you gain 50% Call Mech charges; and so on).

If the Mech dies, D.Va remains; however, if D.Va dies, the Mech is automatically unsummoned.

Talents

LEVEL 1

On Fire: While inside the Mech, can move at 50% speed while Basic Attacking.

Naraganda [E]: !Quest: Damaging an enemy Hero with Boosters permanently increase its damage by X, up to 50X. !Reward: After hitting 50 enemy Heroes with Boosters, increase its duration by 1 second.

Bailing Out [D]: While inside the Mech, can activate trait (D key) to eject and unsummon the Mech if it has more than 25% remaining Health. Gain Call Mech charges equal to the % Health your Mech had (50% remaining Health on the Mech grants 50% Call Mech charges, and so on).

LEVEL 4

Adding CC [E]: Enemies damaged by Booster become 25% slowed for 2 seconds.

Game On!: !Quest: Making a Takedown while outside the Mech permanently increase D'Va's attack damage by 2% while outside the Mech, up to 10%. !Reward: After gaining 5 Takedowns while outside the Mech, D'Va gain the ability to move while attacking when outside the Mech.

Increased Score: While outside the Mech, gathering a Regeneration Globe instantly give 10% Call Mech charges. !Reward: After gathering 20 Regeneration Globes, increase the over time charge gain rate for Call Mech by 15%.

LEVEL 7

Armor Pack: D'Va's Mech gain 15 Armor while above 50% Health.

Self-Repair (Active): When inside the Mech, can be activated to heal 20% of your maximum Health over 5 seconds. When outside the Mech, can be activated to gain 20% Call Mech charges over 5 seconds (the same cooldown is used for inside and outside the Mech activations).

Reinforced Matrix [W]: Activating Defense Matrix for the whole duration in a single use greatly reduce the ability's cooldown (50% reduction).

LEVEL 13

Extra Continue [Q] Gain a second charge of MEKA Bash and increase it's damage by 50%.

Anti-Spell Matrix [W]: Gain 25 Spell Armor while Defense Matrix is toggled on.

Too Young to Die: Gain 50% more Health when outside the Mech.

LEVEL 16

Pwning! [Q]: Enemy Hero hit by MEKA Bash also becomes stunned for 0.5 second.

Cheat Code [E]: Become Unstoppable while Boosters are active.

MVP: Passive: Gain 10% increased Basic Attack Speed while outside the Mech. Active: When outside the Mech, can activate to instantly roll in the target direction (similar to Vault) and gain 10% increased Basic Attack Speed for 3 seconds, at the cost of instantly losing 25% Call Mech charges. 3 seconds cooldown.

LEVEL 20

Nerf This! [R1]: Increase Self-Destruct explosion radius by a % equal to the Health % the Mech has (if the Mech had 100% Health, explosion radius is increased by 100%). If Self-Destruct kills at least one enemy Hero, instantly gain 100% Call Mech charges.

Artificial Control [R2]: Increase the duration of Remote Control by 50%. If D'Va die while the ability is active, the player can still control the Mech for the remainder of the duration, and it is unsummoned after the ability ends.

Calling Down the Thunder [D]: Call Mech now summons the Mech in the target area, dealing huge damage, stunning for 1 second, and knocking back all enemies caught in the area. After descending, D'Va quickly jumps inside the Mech.
