Darion Mograine

Highlord of the Ebon Blade

He is the son of Alexandros Mograine and a former knight of the Argent Dawn. He came into possession of Corrupted Ashbringer after killing his father in Naxxramas as part of a failed rescue plan carried out by some members of the Argent Dawn and used it to kill himself and free his father's soul. He became a death knight of the Scourge.

For this concept I wanted to do two things. One, be faithful to the Unholy Death Knight class in World of Warcraft, and two, successfully create a hero that deals damage through sustained area damage and slows. I don't want him to be bursty, but bring the enemy teams health down over a long winded team fights, making it difficult for healers to keep up as the team fight becomes longer. He is a specialist in the same manner that Nazeebo is a specialist.

Darion Mograine is a melee specialist that excels at sustained area damage by spreading disease across the battlefield and infecting his enemies.

Corrupted Ashbringer
Basic Attacks against Heroes inflict the target with Festering Wounds, stacking up to 3 times. Festering Wounds lasts 10 seconds, refreshing duration upon hit.

Scourge Strike:
Cooldown: 10 Seconds
Mana: 30

Activate to cause your next Basic Attack to burst all Festering Wounds on a target, dealing 68 (+4% per level) damage per stack in a small area and slowing the target by 10% per stack for 1 second.

Darion heals for 3% maximum health per stack Festering Wounds

Vector Targeting

A Gargoyle flies to and bombards the target area dealing 160 (+4% per level) damage in a line and slowing enemies by 30% for 1.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 12 Seconds
Mana: 65

Defile a small area at a target location, dealing 73 (+4% per level) damage per second to all enemies. Lasts 3 seconds. Deals 100% damage to minions and mercenaries.

If an enemy Hero is damaged by Defile, reset the duration and increase the damage and radius by 25%, to a maximum of 100%.

Outbreak
Cooldown: 14 Seconds
Mana: 60

Instantly create a straight, narrow line of noxious gas that deals 55 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit.

Affected Heroes pulse out 95 (+4% per level) damage every second to nearby enemies. If the pulse damage a Hero, affect them with Outbreak. Lasts 3 seconds.

Target an enemy or friendly Hero, after a 2 second cast time, pull all enemy Heroes in a wide, circular area to the target, slowing them by 50% for 1 second.

Cast range is doubled if target is a friendly Hero. Can be self cast.

Raise Rotgut
Cooldown: 80 Seconds
Mana: 60
Vector Targeting

Raise the undead monstrosity Rotgut, who will Passively follow for 15 seconds. Rotgut has 1100 health.

Once activated, Rotgut will recklessly charge from the target location in a targeted direction, dealing 430 (+4% per level) damage and stun all targets for 1 second, randomly leaving behind 7 Slimes that focus enemy Heroes and explode after 2 seconds, dealing 150 (+4% per level) damage.

Afterwards, Rotgut returns to the earth.

Level 1:


[Q] Ace Gargoyle: Increase cast range by 30% and refund mana on Hero hits.
[W] Rotted Turf: Standing on Defile grants 50 Physical Armor.
[Passive] Runic Ashbringer: Minions and Mercenaries can be affected with Festering Wounds.
[Trait] Rotten Flesh: (Quest) Cause 60 stacks of Festering Wounds to burst on Heroes. (Reward) Increase the slow amount to 15% per stack.

Level 4:


[W] Unholy Ground: Darion gains 20% movement speed while standing on Defile and for 2 seconds after.
[W] Desecrated Lands: (Quest) Damage Heroes 40 times with Defile. (Reward) Radius bonus increased to 50%, to a maximum of 200%.
[E] Virulent Plague: (Quest) Directly affect 35 Heroes with Outbreak. (Reward) Increases damaging radius by 30%.
[Trait] Purge the Living: Hero Takedowns increase Festering Wounds damage by 5%, up to 50%. All stacks lost on death.

Level 7:


[Q] Bombard: (Quest) Damaging Heroes with Gargoyle Strafe increases it's length and width by 2%, up to 50%. (Reward) Upon damaging 25 Heroes, reduce Gargoyle Strafe cooldown by 3 seconds.
[E] Poisoned Air: Increases Outbreak cast width by 50%.
[Trait] Volatile Lesions: Increases explosion radius by 75%.
[Active] Death Approaches: Activate to gain 30% move speed for 3 seconds, Basic Attacks refresh duration. 60 second cooldown.

Level 13:


[W] Curse the Living: Damaging enemy Heroes with Defile reduces enemy ability damage by 25% for 1 second.
[E] Epidemic: Outbreak deals 100% increased damage to Heroes.
[Trait] Scourge Crush: Festering Wounds deals an additional 5% of a Hero's maximum health as damage.
[Passive] Unholy Fortitude: Stuns grant unstoppable for 1.5 seconds and replenish 25% of maximum mana. 20 second cooldown.

Level 16:


[Q] Dark Arbiter: Gargoyle Strafe becomes a Val'kyr and damages the same area 3 times, increasing the damage by 25% each attack.
[E] Plaguebearer: Heroes affected by Outbreak receive the pulse damage as well.
[Trait] Scourge Bomb: Festering Wounds explosion slows all enemies damaged.
[Passive] Corrupted Cleave: Basic Attacks cleave for 75% damage and apply Festering Wounds.

Level 20:


[R] Gorefiend's Gift: If target is an enemy Hero, reduce Armor by 25. If target is a friendly Hero, grant 50 Armor for 4 seconds.
[R] Good Boy, Rotgut: Increase Rotgut duration to 25 seconds. Rotgut is no longer passive, increasing maximum health by 30% and deals 155 (+4% per level) damage every 1.2 seconds. Can be redirected with the "1" key. Rotgut returns to the earth after charging.
[E] Ebon Fever: Enemy Heroes can be repeatedly infected.
[Trait] Life in Death: Increase Festering Wounds explosion heal to 10% maximum health per stack.
