Deathwing

The Destroyer

A melee mage, Deathwing manipulates his own body to gain damage or mobility, at the cost of debuffing himself. He must take care to not allow the draconic corruption in his veins to overwhelm him and render him weak and useless. In addition to shaping himself, Deathwing can also reform the battlefield around him to burn his enemies.

Health 2200 (+4%/lv)
Health Regen 4/s (+4%/lv)

Mana 500 (+10/lv)
Mana Regen 2/s (+4%/lv)

Attack Speed 1.2/s
Attack Damage 150 (+4%/lv)

Combat Trait

1
Corrupted Blood
While Deathwing is bleeding from an ability he casts, his fiery blood is left behind for 5 seconds, damaging enemies that walk through it for 40 ( +4% /level) damage and healing for 100% of the damage dealt to enemy heroes and 20% of the damage dealt to non-heroes.

Primary Abilities

1
Impale
Mana 30
Cooldown 8 seconds
Range Identical to an abathur stab
Functionality Fires a skillshot. You grow a tail even if you miss.

Grow a tail for 10 seconds and lash out at an enemy hero, dealing (160 +4% /level) damage. While you have a tail, Impale's cooldown is reduced to 2.5 seconds, but you bleed for 1% of his maximum health each second. After you lose your tail, Impale is set to it's normal cooldown.
2
Fire breath
Mana 80
Cooldown 12 seconds
Range Similar to Johanna's Shield Glare, but with 10% shorter and 20% wider range.
Functionality While casting Fire Breath, you can redirect the flames like Li-Ming's Disintegrate, but must stand still.

Grow a dragon's head for 6 seconds and breathe a cone of fire in front of your for 1 second, dealing 300 (+ 4% /level) damage over 3 seconds to any enemy hit. While you have the head of a dragon, you can only see in a 180 degree arc in front of you, but your vision range is doubled. In addition, you lose line of sight from all allies that are not in your normal vision range.
3
Dragonflight
Mana 50
Cooldown 5 seconds
Range Similar to Falstad's Barrel roll
Functionality The wings grow after the spell is cast, and you can go over terrain with the spell, but not by walking when you have wings.

Grow wings for 4 seconds and fly forward a short distance. While you have wings, your movement speed increases by 10% but you cannot mount. In addition, while you have wings your hitbox increases by 50% in size, making you easier to hit.

Heroic Abilities

1
Cataclysm
Mana 120
Cooldown 100 seconds
Range Double the width of Falstad's Hinterland Blast, but half the range
Functionality After the channeling, in which time you grow all 3 of your dragon parts, you fly in the air like Sindragosa from Arthas, landing just past the edge of the ability.

After 1 second, Deathwing takes on his full Dragon aspect and rains hellfire on the battlefield in a massive line, landing at the end. The fire destroys any bush it touches permanently, rendering it useless for the rest of the game. In addition, the area Deathwing strikes burns for 8 seconds afterwards, dealing damage to any enemy hero that walks into it. After this ultimate, Deathwing gains the passive effects of all three of his abilities for 10 seconds. This ability deals 340 ( +4% /level) damage on impact, and the fire deals 25 ( +4% / level) damage per second.
2
Elementium Blast
Mana 80
Cooldown 70 seconds
Range Equal to Deathwing's base sight range
Functionality You target a point within range and instantly fly into the air (this ability cannot be interrupted.) after a brief (.25 second) delay, a hellfire beam shoots down, which you control by right clicking. After 4 seconds, you land back where you were when you cast the ability.

Deathwing grows wings and shoots up to the sky, entering stasis. While in this stasis, Deathwing channels an elementium laser onto the battlefield from a point of impact near him. once cast, Deathwing controls the elementium blast by right clicking, and it moves at 80% normal walk speed. The blast deals 200 damage per second to anything it touches.

Well, this is a REALLY cool deathwing concept. I like the idea of him temp growing dragon body parts when using his abilities. However, his dragon's blood trait seems really under-used seeing as he can only take advantage of it from his Q and from no other sources. Perhaps give him some way to activate his trait to instantly spawn a pool of blood perhaps? Would make it a lot more interesting.

Also, I think his Cataclysm ult permanently destroying bushes is WAY too strong, when you got heroes like dehaka who need bushes for mobility. Perhaps only have them be destroyed for the full cooldown of the ability?(Aka for 120 seconds)? You could make his level 20 version permanently destroy them though.

Hmm, maybe a buff to a trait talent? I think that since Impale lasts 10 seconds, it's the only thing he needs to activate it, but maybe adding the ability to drop a puddle on command as a reward for Bloody Miasma might work, but then that's half the reason to take boiling blood at level 16

Well, this is really only a problem for Dehaka, and it could be worked out to only make them visible, rather than remove them entirely, so Dehaka isn't too hard countered. I wanted a way to permanently but subtley alter the battlefield, and this was the best thing I could come up with for the ultimate.

Also thank you for the kind words!
