Deathwing

The Destroyer

Pain... Agony.... My hatred burns through the cavernous deeps. The world heaves with my torment. Its wretched kingdoms quake beneath my rage... But at last... The whole of Azeroth will break... ...And all will burn beneath the shadow of my wings...


Deathwing is a unique specialist that always flies above the bttleground raining global pain from the skies.Deathwing is desinged to be a more offensive version of Abathur that relies less on allies to remain global presence.As an exchange for its insane global pressure deathwing is unable to contest objectives, unless he takes a specific talent allows him to do so by making him super vulnerable.Deathwing will exell at large battlegrounds with fight-based objectives,like Battlefield of Eternity or Infernal shrines, as an alternative to Abathur.His 2 heroic abilities allow for unique ways to aproach the battleground and allows for unique interactions.(not reccomended in combination with Abathur,cause your teamfighting will suck hard)

Combat Trait

Behold the Destroyer!
Deathwing is too massive to walk on the battleground, so he is always flying above it, sending forth strong attacks from above.While flying, he cannot be hurt by normal means, but his tail is hanging low and can be seen on the battleground.You can activate your trait to move your tail around(the same way you would control misha with rexxar)at 100% move speed.Your tail will grant vision and reveal enemies in a 20 meter radius around it, but it can be attacked and killed.If so Deathwing will be caused a great deal of pain, preventing him from doing anything at all until the tail recovers(AKA respawns).Deathwing will gather expirience from anything that dies within 5 seconds of being damaged by him.Also he gains expirience from everything that dies within the vision radius of his tail.

Deathwing cannot contest objectives that are not fight based.


Note:Deathwing's health stats are the health stats of his tail.

Primary Abilities

Burning Breath
Cooldown:8 seconds

Choose an area on the battleground and spit fire on it, creating a burning area that lasts 3 sconds, dealing 100 damage per second to all enemies in the area. Burning Breath deals 50% more damage to minions and monsters.

Shattering Tail
Cooldown:12 seconds

After 0.5 seconds, deal 263 damage to all enemies in your tail's vision radius and stun them for 1 second.

Earth Breaker
Cooldown:12 seconds

Create 3 larges scratches somewhere on the ground that deal 137 damage on impact slowing hit enemies by 90% for 0.5 seconds.The scratches persist per 4.5 seconds dealing 18 damage every 0.5 seconds to enemies that keep standing on them and slowing them by 15%.If Deathwing Scratches over impassable terrain, he will also allows all units to pass through it be moving through the scratch.If the scratches fade while a unit is crossing through impassable terrain, that unit will be knocked back to where it started. Can be reactivated to cause the scratches to fade early.

Heroic Abilities

Black Dragonflight
Cooldown:100 seconds

After 2 seconds,Deathwing flies through the entire map, dealing 308 damage to all enemies on the battleground and stunning all enemy heroes for 0.5 secpnds. All enemy structures damaged by Black Dragonflight are also disabled for 8 seconds.Enemy keeps aren't damaged by Black Dragonflight, unless their respective fort is already destroyed. Enemy heroes and structures have a skull displayed above their healthbar if Black Dragonflight can deal enough damage to kill them.

Passive:Increase the window in which an enemy you have damaged must die in order to collect their expirience from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.

(There is a map wide announcement when Deathwing casts Black Dragonflight, than can be seen by both allies and enemies.)

Spine of Deathwing
Deathwing's spine becomes a battleground of its own with its personal mini map at the corner above the normal mini map.(similar to how we have the mines minimap on Haunted mines).All ally heores gain an activatable ability that lets them travel on your spine after a 2.5 second channel on a 70 second cooldown.You can activate Spine of Deathwing to instantly transport an ally or enemy hero on your spine on a 110 second cooldown.

Your spine has regenaration globe spawner that recharges once every 30 seconds and can only be used by your allies. All ally and enemy heroes can click your armorplate to transport themselves to the location that your tail is currently to.(the enemy hero part sounds stupid but remember that you can have your tail to your core so when they come out they are killed).

Enemy heroes on your spine take 31 damage per second.

The cooldown of the activatable ability that ally heroes gain starts ticking after they leave your spine.

Global abilities cannot be used while the caster is standing on Deathwing's spine and they cannot be cast on Deathwing's spine.

LEVEL 1 TALENTS

Run from the Destroyer!(Passive):Deathwing paasively gathers expirience from anywhere on the battleground,but only gains 30% of the normal expierience if he didn't gather the expierience through damaging the enemy or them dying near his tail.

Earth Shaker(E): Reduces Earth Breaker's cooldown by 4 seconds.

Humanoid Form(Active):Cooldown:5 seconds
After 1 second,transform into your humanoid form and land at the target location dealing 34 damage and stunning nearby enemies for 0.25 seconds .While in your humannoid form you have 15% increased spellpower and can basic attack for 75 damage per second from a 6 metre range , but you can only use burning breath with a 50% smaller radius and limited cast range. Also you can contest objectives and capture mercenary camps .In this form, you have the same health as your tail.Humanoid form moves at 115% move speed.

LEVEL 4 TALENTS

Torch-ure(Q): Enemy heroes standing within Burning Breath's radius lose 20 physical armor. This debuff lingers for 2 seconds after exiting the area of burning breath.


BBQ time(Q): Burning Breath deals 100% increased when hitting only 1 enemy. Additionally, enemies in the area of burning breath are now slowed by 20%.

Afterburner(Q): Ally heroes that enter the area affected by Burning Breath gain a fire aura that increases their move speed by 15% and causes them to deal 12 damage per second to all nearby enemies. This effect persists for 5 seconds.

LEVEL 7 TALENTS

Volcanic Eruption(E):When Earthbreaker's scratches fade or are canceled, they explode unleashing lava in the area that it covers , which deals 141 damage and stuns enemies hit for 1 second.


Elementium Plating(Active):Cooldown:25 seconds
Activate to grant your tail with a shield equal to 20% of its maximum health for 4 seconds. While this shield is active your tail also burns nearby enemies for 56 damage per second and heals neaby allies for 27 health per second.

If Humanoid Form is chosen, Elementium Plating can also be used while in Humanoid form.



Mass Destruction(Active):Cooldown:60 seconds
Activate to place Deathwing's foot on the target enemy structure, disabling it and dealing it 100 damage per second. The foot has 900 health and lasts until destroyed or if it destroys the structure it is stepping on. Only one foot can be active an at time.

LEVEL 10 TALENTS

Black Dragonflight(Heroic):Cooldown:100 seconds

After 2 seconds,Deathwing flies through the entire map, dealing 308 damage to all enemies on the battleground and stunning all enemy heroes for 0.5 secpnds. LEVEL 13 TALENTS

Former Aspect of Earth(E): For every enemy hero hit by the impact damage of Earthbreaker reduce all ability cooldowns by 2 seconds.

Cataclysmic rift(Active): Cooldown:25 seconds
Activate to have your tail dash in the target direction, dealing 121 damage to allenemies hit and leaving behind a unpathable rift for 3 seconds.

If Humanoid Form is chosen, Cataclysmic rift can also be used while in Humanoid form.


Corructed Blood(Passive): Casting a basic ability now leaves behind a pool of corrupted blood for 5 seconds. The first ally hero to step on it will consume the blood, being healed for 219 health and gaining 10% increased spell power for 3 seconds. Additionally enemies standing on the pool of blood take 21 damage per second.

LEVEL 16 TALENTS

Arson(Q):Burning Breath gains a second charge.

Bury(E): The impact damage of earthbreaker is increased by 125% when damaging stunned, rooted or slowed enemies.

Destruction follows(W): Shattering tail deals an additional 5% of hit heroes max health as damage.

LEVEL 20 TALENTS

Cataclysm(Heroic):Black Dragonflight now reduces the armor of all enemy structures by 25 for 6 seconds and deals an additional 50% of the taget's max health as damage to minions, mercenaries and monsters.

Backache(Heroic):Enemy heroes lose 25 armor while on your spine. Spine of deathwing also gains a second charge.

Crash Landing(Active):
Increases the landing damage of Humanoid form by 900% and the stun duration by 400%.

Requires Humanoid Form

Claw Combo(Q/E): Casting Earthbreaker inside burning breath will pause earthbreaker's duration until Burning breath expires. Also the scratches will be lighten on fire afterwards, applying burning breath to all enemies that stand on it.

Ignoring the rest of the kit, first and foremost, why would we want to play as a tail? Visually thats really stupid. Its like making us play as sons of ragnaros instead of ragnaros himself.

For the most part imagine that you'll be playing as abathur being all over the map. The tail is more of just another tool for you to use and also a way to make sure that he is not op without breaking the immersion of him being large.

Sorry but honestly i cant imagine just being a tail hanging down on screen airborne like a mutalisk. And i cant immerse myself thinking deathwing would be temporarily stunned or "killed" by damaging his tail. This is the guy who had molten hot magma metal plates literally drilled his body and just went raw on the pain because his body was literally falling apart from the power he had. Its so metal and bad *** and then its like well ouch my tail got hurt i gotta rest this one off guys ill be back soon.

I think immersion should take a backseat to gameplay sometimes. Look at ragnaros for this example. He can still be huge without diminishing himself to something as just an avatar or fraction of himself. It does not feel like deathwing.
