Deckard Cain

Elder of great wisdom

Deckard Cain is a ranged support and the last of the Horadrim.
He uses his magic and unmatched wisdom to assist his allies in the fight against evil.

Combat Trait

1
[Trait]: The sages contemplation and gratitude
Contemplation:
Deckard Cain moves slower than other heroes and it takes him 1 second longer to get mounted. While not mounted he sometimes drops a magic scroll by accident. This can occur once every 30 seconds.

Gratitude:

Allied heroes can pick up the scroll by right clicking and walk near Deckard Cain to return it. Cain then automatically grants that ally health and mana regeneration equal to the amount of a regeneration globe.

The most ideas of this concept i love. But in my opinion his "[E]Help!" should be more a secondary ability(talent-choose) with more duration. Also his [R2]Townportal looks like Medivh´s [E]Portal as a global version.

And for the role of a supporter he heal to less.

Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, I also think his [E] might be a bit boring. I'm working on a new ability but can't think of something innovative just yet. The similarity between Town Portal and Medivhs portal is obvious - but funny thing is that this concept is actually older than Medivhs release. Might be changing this as well in the future, though.

It is intended for him to have relatively low heal. First of all Decard Cain is kind of known to support his allies against evil through his wisdom and he never actually heals in Diablo 2 at least. So I made him more like a utility support kind of like Tyrande with a mini heal and huge utility. In my opinion there are enough heal supports and for a unique character like him I wished for a more different playstyle than most of the supports, thats why I made him more of a non-healer.

Hey I thought about that. For the "HELP! (E)" Ability. Could that be like a cloak that Cain could use on himself? I see him as a wanderer and a old man who is hard to catch and hard to know how could he have ended in a cage in Tristram or even in Leoric's chamber. He must be slippy for such a frail man!

That cloak could also give him Unstoppable or Invulnerability for X secs.

I totally agree with you that we need new mechanics for the supports, like supports who buff like no other their team. No healbots XD.

The two ultimates don't feel like they are representative to what they truly do XD. I mean, the horadric cube does have a transmutation mechanic. How about making it so that it could "Transmute" an interactive object that is already added to the game?
As for the Town Portal, I do think that it's a bit weak for an ultimate. It could have a longer duration than Medivh's portals (maybe it could persist as long as Cain doesn't go back a forth in it, like town portals do in the Diablo's Universe)? But I'm ok with the idea of a more defensive-retreating portal use.

Man, I like that silence on Stay Awhile and Listen XD!
I never knew that identifying items to Cain could shoot some magic bolts, but hey why not lol. I like the long-last reveal though.

I agree that Cain is frail and that it should be showed in his stats. But maybe we could "age" his base stats gained per level? (I have made an idea of that in my Cain's concept. Go check it out!)
