Fire Fighter

"Need a light?"

It takes a special person to volunteer for the Confederate armed forces.  And an even more unique outlook to head into a fight with a pressurized explosive device strapped to your back.  Dylan Chapel is just such an individual, dodging a death sentence on the galactic fringe by signing up with the Confederates in their hour of need.  An unrepentant sociopath, Dylan's handlers were certain that he'd blown out his neural inhibitors and failed his resocialization.  But the need for canon fodder against the Sons of Korhal was so great that Dylan was thrown into battle anyway, figuring his attitude wouldn't matter when he was a corpse.  But Dylan survived the chaos of that first battle.  Thrived, even, as the wars raged on and becoming one of the longest serving Firebats ever.


Notes:

First of all, his name is Dylan because he spits hot fire.

Dylan uses an alternate energy source.  Fuel instead of Mana.  He begins with a full tank which his skills burn through.   Well, two of them, the third can be activated to restore it.  And unlike normal mana, Fuel does not regenerate in combat but only after Dylan has not been hit for a while.

Combat Trait

FLAMETHROWER
You use Fuel instead of Mana.  Fuel powers abilities and will regenerate only when out of combat.  The less Fuel you have, the faster you will move.

Note:  Dylan, on an empty tank, would move as fast as Rehgar's wolf form - 130% of normal.

Primary Abilities

FLAME ON!
Maintain this skill to shoot a continuous spray of flame, dealing damage over time to all enemies it hits.  While maintaining this skill, the direction of the flame will follow your mouse pointer.

Note:  This would be like a combination of Diablo's Lightning Breath ultimate and Tychus's Overkill.  You can move in one direction and aim in another.

FIREWALL
Release superheated clouds of gas that create burning flames on the ground.  Enemies that come into contact with these flames Burn, taking damage over time and increased damage from your attacks.

FUEL UP
PASSIVE  -  You are healed by standing next to Burning foes.  You are healed even more by standing in your flames.

ACTIVE - Channel to regenerate Health and Fuel over time.

Heroic Abilities

Boiling Over
For a short duration, Dylan's attacks deal splash damage and create a plume of flames that splatter behind his target.  During this time, the movement penalty from his Fuel level is removed.

Dragon Punch
Dylan charges to his target, landing an uppercut that causes them to Burn and be briefly Stunned.

ROLE

Dylan is an intimidating Warrior with high damage and high sustain.  He's able to roast multiple opponents with his Flamethrower and he has the health and healing to wade into the middle of a teamfight doing so.  He can use his ability to lay down walls of flame to create chokepoints and other hazards, controlling objectives somewhat like a Gazlowe setting out turrets.  And his increasing movement speed means he's hard to get away from once he starts burning a target down.  Altogether, it should make him a bruiser type, like a Leoric, who's brutal in a fight while being difficult to get rid of.  His weaknesses are a lack of range - he shoots fire but not that far - but more importantly, he's missing engage.  Dylan can melt any target he can reach but he's going to struggle to get to them in the first place. There's no dash or shutdown here, no root or stun or snare, to help him catch his opponents out.  When fights break out and Dylan can come rumbling in, though, he's a huge threat.  Opponents will have to take care not to bunch up or else they're likely to hear that hiss and spark as his fire lights up and their health starts burning away.
