Support Rework Concept

This is a rework concept for Tassadar. His current ADC-enabler role has made balancing him extremely hard, and so my aim is to reduce that aspect of his kit and improve on others to make him more reliable and viable in general as Support hero.



Major Changes:


Tassadar's basic attack has been changed to a projectile called Psi-Blast, but can be temporarily changed back to Distortion Beam with a baseline active ability. Distortion Beam's slow now builds over time, and several talents have been improved or added.

Plasma Shield has had its shield health increased, but no longer grants a physical damage life leech effect. Several talents have been updated to help compensate for this loss in baseline sustain.

Psionic Storm now deals a little more damage and several utility and even support focused talents have been added or tweaked.

Phase Shift has seen no changes.

Force Wall has received no changes, but it's level 20 upgrade has been changed to reduce spammability but increase instantaneous impact.

Archon has been replaced with a more support-oriented ability called Astral Projection. Tassadar can channel to project his presence across the map, allowing him to participate in fights he would not normally be able to reach in time or that would be too dangerous for him to engage in, ableit for a limited period of time.

Damage: 100/sec.

Duration: 3 sec.
Create a storm of psionic energy at a target location for 3 seconds. Enemies within a radius of 2.5 take 50 damage every 0.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 30 sec.
Mana Cost: 70
Duration: 2 sec.
Movement Speed: +30%
Tassadar gains 30% additional movement speed and becomes Invulnerable and invisible for 2 seconds.

Attack Speed: 4/sec.
Range: 6.5
Slow Rate: 5%
Maximum Slow: 20%
Duration: 8 sec.
Activate to change Tassadar's basic attack into a channeled beam for 8 seconds. This beam deals 15 damage every 0.25 seconds and slows the target by 5% per second, up to 20%, for 1 second.

Reactivate this ability to end Distortion Beam and revert Tassadar's basic attack back to Psi-Blast early.

Duration: 4 sec.
Damage Reduction: 50%
Activate to reduce a target enemy hero's damage by 50% for 4 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Cooldown: 10 sec.
Mana Cost: 25
Cast Range: 8
Duration: 2 sec.
Create a wall that blocks all units from moving through it for 2 seconds.

Reactivate this ability to dispel the wall early.

[R2] Astral Projection
Cooldown: 60 sec.
Mana cost: 120
Cast Period: 2 sec.
Duration: 20 sec.
Duration: 20 sec. Tassadar channels for 2 seconds, then creates a controllable projection of himself at a target location he has vision of. For up to 20 seconds, Tassadar channels and controls the projection. The projection is an exact copy of and is controlled by Tassadar, and lasts until Tassadar stops channeling or the projection is killed.

The projection starts with all abilities off cooldown and with full health and mana.

Reactivating this ability ends Tassadar's channeling and cancels Astral Projection early.
If the copy is killed or if Tassadar's channeling is interrupted Astral Projection ends early.

[Q] Mounting Plasma
Regeneration Globes restore 50% more mana.
? Quest: Collecting a Regeneration Globe increases Plasma Shield's value by 1% up to 20%.
? Reward: After collecting 20 Regeneration Globes, Plasma Shield's value is increased by an additional 10%.
? Reward: After collecting 30 Regeneration Globes, Plasma Shield's value is increased by an additional 10%.

[W] Psi-Infusion
Psionic Storm restores 1 mana every time it hits a non-structure enemy.
? Quest: Damage enemies with Psionic Storm.
? Reward: After hitting 250 enemies, Psionic Storm's radius is increased by 10%.
? Reward: After hitting 500 enemies, Psionic Storm's radius is increased by an additional 15%.
? Reward: After hitting 750 enemies, Psionic Storm's radius is increased by an additional 15%.
? Reward: After hitting 1000 enemies, Psionic Storm's damage is increased by 20%.

[1] Resonation
Attacking enemy heroes with Distortion Beam restores 12 mana per second.
? Quest: Attack enemy heroes with Distortion Beam.
? Reward: After attacking enemy heroes for 20 seconds, Distortion Beam's duration is increased by 2 seconds.
? Reward: After attacking enemy heroes for 30 seconds, Distortion Beam's slow stacks up to 30%.
? Reward: After attacking enemy heroes for 40 seconds, Distortion Beam's slow stacks twice as fast.
? Reward: After attacking enemy heroes for 50 seconds, Distortion Beam's range is increased by 1.


Level 4


[Q] Plasma Ablation
Plasma Shield absorbs all excess damage when it breaks.
Plasma Shield grants its target 25 armor for 2 seconds after breaking or expiring.

[Q] Khala's Embrace
Plasma Shield heals its target for 2% of their maximum health every second it remains.
After 4 seconds, Plasma Shield heals its target for 50% of the shield's remaining health.

[Q] Templar's Vigor
Plasma Shield heals its target for 10% of all damage dealt by its target and Tassadar.


Level 7


[Trait] Mental Acuity
? Quest: Hero kills reduce the cooldown of Oracle by 3 seconds, up to 15 seconds.
? Reward: After killing 5 enemy heroes, Oracle's vision range bonus is increased to 125%.

[Q] Psionic Stability
Plasma Shield's duration is increased by 2 seconds.
? Quest: Block 12,000 damage dealt to allied heroes with Plasma Shield, including all damage blocked so far.
? Reward: Plasma Shield no longer expires and lasts until destroyed.

[W] Resonation
Psionic Storm slows enemies by 20%.
Psionic Storm increases allies' movement speed by 20%.

[Passive] Psionic Projection
Increases the cast range of Plasma Shield and Psionic Storm by 40%.


Level 13


[Trait] Adun's Wisdom
Tassadar's basic abilities cooldown 50% faster while Oracle is active.

[Q/W] Plasma Surge
Allies with Plasma Shield regain 100 shields every 0.5 seconds while they are within Psionic Storm's radius.

[E] Deep Shift
Increases Phase Shift's duration to 3 seconds and movement speed bonus to 40%.

[1/Active] Nullification
Distortion Beam reduces its target's damage by 25%.
Activate to reduce a target enemy hero's damage by 50% for 4 seconds.
Nullification's and Distortion Beam's damage reductions do stack.


Level 16


[Q] Shield Battery
Plasma Shield now has 3 charges, but its cooldown is increased to 12 seconds. All charges are restored by the cooldown.

[W] Phase Disruption
Enemy heroes within Psionic Storm's radius lose 25 physical armor.

[W] Intensifying Plasma
Psionic Storm's damage now increases by 15% every 0.5 seconds.
Psionic Storm's duration does not decreases while there is an allied or enemy hero within its radius.

[1] Prismatic Alignment
Distortion Beam deals additional damage to enemy heroes equal to 0.75% of their maximum health.


Level 20


[Trait/Basic Attacks] Fury of the Khala
Increases Psi Blast's attack range by 2.
While Oracle is active, Psi Blast attacks against enemy heroes cast Psionic Storm at the target's location for free.

[Trait/1] Prismatic Link
Distortion Beam now chains to up to 2 additional enemies within 4.5 range for 50% of the damage and slow amount.
Distortion Beam instantly slows enemies by 40% while Oracle is active.

[R1] Force Barrier
Increases the cast range of Force Wall by 100%
Increases the duration and cooldown of Force Wall by 50%.
Force Wall now has 2 charges with a 5 second cooldown between uses.

[R2] Astral Presence
Astral Projection now puts Tassadar in Stasis for its duration.
The projection's basic ability cooldowns are reduced by 50%.
