Garrosh Hellscream

Son of Hellscream

Garrosh is a hero focused on one thing, and one thing only: single-target attacks. He can slow down targets with Hamstring, whittle down their health with Colossus Smash, and finish them off with a well-timed Execute.

Combat Trait

1
Endless Rage
The first Ability you use on a target deals 30% more damage. Does not work on minions.

Primary Abilities

1
Colossus Smash
Smash the target's armor, dealing heavy damage and increasing all damage you deal to the target by 50% for 5 seconds. 7 second cooldown.

(Colossus Smash is Garrosh's main ability, and should always be used first. Colossus Smash's cooldown is 7 seconds so that there is a bit of downtime in between Colossus Smashes for balance reasons)
2
Hamstring
Maim the target, dealing light damage and slowing them down by 50% for 3 seconds. The movement speed debuff cannot be stacked or refreshed by using this ability over and over again.

(This is Garrosh's filler ability, for when his Colossus Smash is on cooldown. To balance out the movement speed debuff, and the fact that it can be spammed, Hamstring doesn't deal that much damage, and the movement speed debuff can't be refreshed or stacked)
3
Execute
Attempt to finish off the target, dealing very heavy damage. Can only be used on targets with 20% health or less, and cannot be used on buildings. 3 second cooldown.

(Execute is what finishes off Garrosh's moveset, as it allows him to quickly eliminate enemies that are at low health. It works well in teamfights and boss encounters)

Heroic Abilities

1
FOR THE HORDE!!!
For 7 seconds, your attacks deal 100% more damage, and your allies gain 50% bonus damage dealt as well. 120 second cooldown.

(This Heroic ability is the best when it comes to teamfights and combatting tough enemies like bosses or cannons. It works incredibly well with Execute, and can allow you to easily demolish your enemies)
2
Mortal Strike
Deal heavy damage to a target, plus 50% of it's damage as a bleed over 6 seconds. 45 second cooldown.

(Mortal Strike adds a heavy hitting attack to Garrosh's arsenal that lets him hurt fleeing targets even more)

Talents

Level 1:
  • Block: You know what this does. (Thought it would be a good talent to add)
  • Strength and Honor: Your Basic Attacks deal 20% more damage to targets affected by Hamstring. (Good for catching slowed targets and supporting your filler attack)
  • Unquenched Fury: Endless Rage also causes your first attack to heal you for 15% of your maximum health. (Garrosh's main source of self-healing)
  • Sudden Death: Colossus Smash has a 5% chance of granting you a chance to use Execute. Executes granted by Sudden Death only deal 30% of their normal damage. (An old Warrior favorite from WoW, except the damage is nerfed for obvious reasons)
Level 4:
  • Die by the Sword: Activate this ability to take 30% less damage for 5 seconds. 20 second cooldown. (Survivability cooldown)
  • Send Them Limping: Hamstring's slow effect now lasts for 4 seconds. (Pretty basic buff)
  • Tactician: Your basic attacks have a 40% chance of reducing the cooldown of Colossus Smash by 1 second. (Allows your basic attacks to help support your Colossus Smash)
  • Mounted Attacker: When you attack a target from your mount, you gain the increased movement speed from your mount for 3 seconds after you've dismounted. (Improves Garrosh's mobility)
Level 7:
  • Chained Like a Wolf: When affected by crowd control, you gain a 10% bonus to damage dealt after you break free. (Allows for you to easily make up for the damage you couldn't deal while crowd-controlled)
  • Finish Him: When used, Execute heals you for 5% of your maximum health. Does not work when used on minions. (Another self-healing talent that comes into play later on in a fight)
  • Bloodied Wounds: Colossus Smash also reduces the effectiveness of healing on the target by 25% for 5 seconds. (Allows for you to afflict targets with even more pain)
Level 10: Heroic Abilities
Level 13:
  • Demolisher: Execute can now be used on buildings, dealing 50% of it's usual damage to the building. (Gives more room for supporting minions in taking out forts)
  • Pain Train: Hamstring deals 40% more damage. (Basic buff for your filler ability)
  • Rend: Your basic attacks have a 10% chance of applying a bleed to your foe. The bleed deals 250% of the Basic Attack's damage over 5 seconds.(Improves on your basic attacks by letting them bleed out your target)
  • Rallying the Troops: For every nearby ally, you gain 2% increased attack speed. Buildings don't count. (Adds to Garrosh's single-target damage)
Level 16:
  • Time to Die: When your target is at 20% health or less, Hamstring deals 100% more damage. (Allows for Hamstring to shine in low-health situations, and works well with Execute)
  • Sweeping Strikes: The range of your attacks is increased by 1. (Allows for you to hit harder and farther.)
  • Victory or Death: When you are at 25% health or less, Endless Rage provides a passive 30% bonus to damage dealt until you are above 25% health. (Allows for you to cause some pain when an enemy has brought you down)
  • War is Hell: Colossus Smash deals 10% of it's damage to a random nearby enemy, prioritizing Heroes.(Improves upon Garrosh's poor AoE attacks)
Level 20:
  • The Horde's Finest: FOR THE HORDE!!! now lasts 1 second longer. (Improves upon Garrosh's burst)
  • Mortal Combo: Mortal Strike increases the damage dealt by your next two Hamstrings by 200%. (Allows for Mortal Strike to play a role in Garrosh's rotation, allowing for health to fall faster)
  • War Banner: Activate to place down a war banner, causing the next wave of minions to be replaced with Kor'kron. Kor'kron minions have double health, deal 50% more damage, and move faster. 30 second cooldown. (Good for the late game, as your minions will still be able to play a role)
  • Rewind: You know what this does. (Good when it comes to bosses, the enemy Core, and teamfights)

Pros and Cons/Final Words

Pros:
  • Very powerful sustained damage.
  • Exceptional when it comes to single-target attacks.
  • Strong burst.
Cons:
  • Little self-healing.
  • Slow movement speed.
  • Little to no AoE.

As you have seen, Garrosh is VERY powerful when it comes to 1v1 and teamfights, but loses out when it comes to multiple targets and emergency situations.
