Garrosh Hellscream (Y'Shaarj oriented)

Warchief of the Horde and son of Grommash Hellscream



Hello friends, 

In this concept Garrosh is using the power of Y'Shaarj instead of relying on his traditional melee warrior skills, his Kor'kron warriors and True Horde technology. So it can be reserved for heroes like Grommash, Blackhand and Saurfang.

Oh and this is my first concept and sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

Combat Trait

Y'Shaarj blood
Garrosh can consume the limited energy supply of Y'Shaarj, which makes him more powerful (increased health regeneration, attack speed, health), but in exchange his death timer will be extended. Also his consumed blood can't be reverted till he has died. So in short: he is stuck in his empowered body till he dies and his extended death timer is over.

Primary Abilities

Whispers of Y'Shaarj
Y'Shaarj will whisper to the targeted enemy which cause them to lose their hope and become (almost) harmless for short period of time. The whispers are from his weapon, so the range is not global.

Whirling of Xal'atoh
Garrosh will throw his corrupted whirling weapon to specified location. The whirling inflict high damage, but in the meantime Garrosh has to fight with his hands for less damage till his corrupted weapon is back to his hands.

This spell can be used to extend the range of "Whispers of Y'Shaarj"

Hellscream's Warsong
Garrosh Hellscream: "Doubt is for the weak! Fight your fears! Conquer your hatred! This is but a test of our strength. We will pass this trial, just as we have passed others."

Garrosh will motivate his teammates, he and his teammates will gain attackspeed + health (and/or movement speed boost) for short period of time. (Works similar as ETC teambuff)

Heroic Abilities

Realm of Y'Shaarj
Y'Shaarj: "You will die when you leave this place. There is nothing left of your world."

Garrosh will teleport himself and the targeted enemy hero to the mysterious realm of Y'Shaarj. The enemy hero has to defend himself from Garrosh and the evil minions of Y'Shaarj, in this realm Garrosh can't get below 10% health until he get out of it. He gets out of the realm till his enemy dies or the time of the realm is up.

Avatar of Y'Shaarj
Y'Shaarj will empower Garrosh even more, and transform him into an avatar of Y'Shaarj, in this form he has even higher health regeneration, attack speed and healt, but if he dies in this state his death timer will extend even more.

Is it worth to take this evil corrupted power?

Minions of Y'Shaarj
Garrosh ask the help of minions of Y'Shaarj. All evil creature of Y'Shaarj will be summoned all around the map and target and attack the enemy heroes till they the minions get killed or the time is up. 

By minions you can think of the Sha and Old God created insect race: Mantid.

This ultimate is great for scouting, initiating.

Special Mount

Malak, the mount of Garrosh Hellscream
Malak is the personal Worg mount of Garrosh Hellscream. She is also Garrosh most favourite pet and wears good looking armor chosen by the Warchief himself.

Ingame information

Garrosh Hellscream is a walking horror, he is stats and utility wise a powerful and tanky hero, especially after he consumed some energy of Y'Shaarj. But once he dies the loses can be fatal to your team, he will have to wait longer to get back into the game. But to prevent that of happening Garrosh has several mechanics to prevent death, like Whirling of Xal'Atoh to block the path of his chasing enemies, Whisper of Y'Shaarj to make the enemies harmless, or even cast his ultimate to summon his enemies to the Realm of Y'Shaarj.

Garrosh can also deal alot of damage by casting Minions of Y'Shaarj in an ongoing team fight.

But I've not really decided what role he can be. A tank is a risky job, because his death is really punishing, an (somewhat tanky) assassin sound for me the best for this hero.


Extended death timer from Y'Shaarjs Blood:

After fully consuming the blood of Y'Shaarj I think a extra waiting time of 20 to 30 sec extra death time would be fair. A lot can happen in the 20-30 sec extra wait time, and if 1 of the player is missing for too long it can cost them forts, objectives or even the game.

Also the extra power scales, in late game it has far more effect than in early game. To counter it the opposite players have to focus and nuke Garrosh down, so they give the enemy players a huge disadvantage for the next upcoming fights.


What about the good players who don't die with their heroes?

It's not easy to not die as a melee warrior. Especially if you are the main target for the enemies. If you manage to stay alive the whole match, well played, you are playing your melee hero cautiously and smart.


How strong is this Y'Shaarjs blood empowered Garrosh?

His full empowered form with his trait only would be something similar as Gazlows "Robo-Goblin" ulti or little bit weaker than Sonya's "Wrath of the Berserker" ulti. Not ridiculous OP, but you can clearly feel the boost.

The 1 of the ulti of Garrosh "Avatar of Y'Shaarj" would be comparable to Muradin's "Avatar" ulti. Very strong, and must be taken out.
