Hata No Kokoro

The expressive poker face

Kokoro naturally has a child-like quiet personality but also a love for the stage but relies on her masks to communicate her emotions. Each one of these masks is extremely valuable to her as they also contain her emotions.

Combat Trait

Manipulation of emotions
Every time Kokoro uses an ability, she changes her mask deppending on the ability used:

- Mask of anger grants a 10% increase in both Spellpower and physical damage. Obtained when using Mask of an Angry Hated Wolf or Enraptured Hyotokko Mask.

- Mask of Joy grants Kokoro 300% increased health regeneration and 5 armor. Obtained after using Sighing Osakabe Mask or Delighted Lion Mask.

- Mask of Stoicism grants her 1 spell armor charge of 75% every 5 seconds with a maximum limit of 1. Obtained after using Roaring Youkai Fox Mask or Shouting Giant Spider Mask

Masked/Unmasked
Kokoro has 2 different modes that influence what abilities she can use.

Primary Abilities

"Mask of an Angry Hated Wolf"
Mana: 25
Cooldown: 7 seconds

- Kokoro leaps forward a short distance (of 3) and attacks any enemy in front of her in a small radius (radius of 1). If the enemy hit is a hero they are lifted and thrown directly behind Kokoro at melee range, in case of hitting several heroes, the one with the lowest HP will be lifted dealing 160(+4%) damage to all enemies hit.

You can only use this ability when in Unmasked mode.

This ability is Q1

Sighing Osakabe Mask
Mana: 25 per charge
Cooldown: 5 seconds per charge (Up to a maximum of 4).

- Upon usage releases a mask around Kokoro that orbits her at a distance of 1 clockwise, the mask lasts 3 seconds. Upon using the ability a second time before the first use expires, the first mask duration is refreshed and another one appears at +1 distance that rotates in the opposite direction that the previous mask that was fired. Masks rotate at a rate of a lap around Kokoro per second. Upon hitting an enemy Kokoro regains 1 Mana, heals up for 20(+4%), reduces the cooldown of Sighing Osakabe Mask by 0.2 seconds, increases her movement speed by 5% per active mask and deals 35 (+4%) damage on enemies hit.

The maximum amount of masks that can be spawned at once is 4 and its natural cooldown doesn't start ticking until masks dissapear. Masks also pierce through all enemies and structures but do not deal damage to the later.

You can only use this ability when in Unmasked mode.

This ability is W1.

Roaring Youkai Fox Mask
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 20 seconds

- Kokoro jumps in the air, landing in the selected location after 1 second, dealing 220 (+4%) damage upon landing in a circle with a radius of 3. If Sighing Osakabe mask is active with 4 masks at the time of using this ability, 2 more circles will randomly appear close to the direction you chose where a small concentration of energy will land that will deal 55(+4%) damage. The extra generated circles look the same as the original one.

Sighing Osakabe Mask is also canceled upon using this ability.

Using this ability will change Kokoro's state to Masked.

You can only use this ability when in Unmasked mode and will always have at least 5 seconds of cooldown after changing from Masked mode to Unmasked mode.

This ability is E1.

Enraptured Hyotokko Mask
Mana: 40
Cooldown: 10 seconds

- Kokoro spins in place for 1 second cutting around with her fans and dealing 240 (+4%) damage. Enemies hit by her will be charmed and forced to walk towards her for 1 second 2 seconds after this ability has hit the enemies.

You can only use this ability when in Masked mode.

This ability is Q2.

Delighted Lion Mask
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 14 seconds

- Kokoro shots a laser from her lion mask. The laser deals more damage at closer range, doing 135(+4%) damage per second on enemies at a range of 0-2, 100(+4%) damage per second on enemies at 2-4 range and 50(+4%) damage on enemies at 4-7 range. Lasts for 3 seconds

This is a channeled ability and you can't move while using it but you can slowly change the trajectory (like Diablo's breath).

You can only use this ability when in Masked mode.

This ability is W2.

Shouting Giant Spider Mask
Mana cost: 0
Cooldown: 20 seconds

- Kokoro jumps backwards a short distance (of 3) while launching webs in front of her in a 120º arc that covers all the way up to where she jumped from, rooting any enemies caught in the webs for 1 second and dealing 25(+4%) damage.

Using this ability will change Kokoro's state to unmasked.

You can only use this ability when in Masked mode and will always have at least 5 seconds of cooldown after changing from Unmasked mode to Masked mode.

This ability is E2.

Heroic Abilities

Melancholy Mask "The Man of Qi Worries about the Earth"
Mana: 80
Cooldown: 80 seconds

- This ultimate can only be used in place of Roaring Youkai Fox Mask.

During Roaring Fox Youkai Mask you can instead use this ability. By doing so, Kokoro won't come down, remaining outside of the map and becoming invulnerable until this ability ends; in the targeted circle from Roaring Fox Youkai Mask a huge torrent of energy will rain, dealing 200 (+4%) damage per second for 2 seconds and slowing down enemies hit by 30% and for 1 second afterwards. After this, Kokoro will fall down landing in the circle location as if it was still using Roaring Youkai Fox Mask applying its effects. The area of this ultimate ability can be moved aiming with the mouse at a hero natural speed of 85%.

While you have both your ultimates since level 10, this ability shares its cooldown with the 2nd ultimate

"Dance of Empty-Hearted Masks: Noh of Darkness"
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 80 seconds

- This ultimate can only be used in place of Shouting Giant Spider Mask.

During Shouting Giant Spider Mask you can instead use this ability. By doing so, after jumping and rooting targets Kokoro will quickly jump towards every target hit, dealing 180(+4%) damage and knocking them back a distance of 4. After hitting all the targets, Kokoro will return to where she landed after using Shouting Giant Spider Mask.

While you have both your ultimates since level 10, this ability shares its cooldown with the 1st ultimate.

Talents

Level 1

(Q1/Q2) The wolf's reach

- When leaping forward, Kokoro's range is increased up to 4.
- Quest: Kill or assist 2 enemy heroes that got recently hit by Angry mask "Mask of an Angry Hated Wolf" (3 seconds).
+ Reward: Enraptured Hyotokko mask now heals for half the damage dealt to heroes and is executed 0.5 seconds faster.

(W1/W2) Spectral fire

- Delighted Lion Mask now also reduces healing by 60/40/20% for 4 seconds deppending on the distance that enemies are hit (closer/medium/long range).
- Quest: Cancel a total of 3.500 healing done from enemy heroes.
+ Reward: Sighing Osakabe Mask now also reduces healing by 4% per hit that stacks up to 40%. Lasts for 2 seconds.

(E1/E2) Swiftness of change

- Hitting enemy heroes with Roaring Fox Youkai Mask reduces the cooldown of Shouting Giant Spider Mask by 2 seconds per enemy hero hit (This cooldown reduction can override the 5 second cooldown minimum of Shouting Giant Spider Mask).
- Quest: Root 25 enemies with Shouting Giant Spider Mask.
+ Reward: Roaring Fox Youkai Mask now also stuns enemies for 1 second after landing (only the main ability, not the side areas created with Sighing Osakabe Mask).

Level 4

(D) Perpetual feeling: Mask of Joy

- Quest: Collect 30 regeneration globes.
+ Reward: Mask of Joy grants double its effect when used and when another mask is being used, you still retain half of its effects.

(D) Perpetual feeling: Mask of Anger

- Quest: Deal 25k Hero damage with abilities.
+ Reward: Mask of Anger grants an extra 50% effect when used and when another mask is being used, you still retain half of its effects.

(D) Perpetual feeling: Mask of stoicism

- Repeteable quest: Stay alive for 180 seconds and kill 100 minions. (Only the first part of the quest is repeated, the second one only needs to be done once).
+ Reward: Mask of Stoicism can now hold up to 2 charges when being used and when another mask is being used, you retain the original effect at a cooldown of 10 seconds. If you die, the quest progress will be reset and it will need to be completed again in order to reactivate.

Level 7

(W1/E1) Focused spirits

- Cooldown of Sighing Osakabe Mask will be reduced by an extra 0.05 seconds per hit and only 2 masks will need to be active in order to proc the 2 extra circles from Roaring Youkai Fox Mask. Having all 4 active doubles the damage of the extra circles.

(Q2/W2) Charming display

- Enraptured Hyotokko Mask now does an extra 4% of the maximum's Hero HP as extra damage. Hitting a charmed enemy with Delighted Lion Mask extends the charm for 0.2 seconds.

(E2/Q1) Lightweight threads

- Enemies rooted by Shouting Giant Spider Mask and then thrown by Mask of an Angry Hated Wolf are thrown slightly further away (1+ distance) and take extra 80(+4%) damage over the next 2 seconds.

Level 10

- Both heroic abilities are obtained at this level.


Level 13

(D) Warm feelings

- Mask of joy increases the amount of healing recieved by 30%; if the level 4 quest for it was picked, half of this effect can be applied when the mask is not in use but having the mask on with the quest completed won't increase the effect higher than 30%.

(E1) The roar of midnight

- Roaring Youkai Fox Mask grants 25 armor for 2 seconds plus an extra second per enemy hero hit in the original circle and 0.5 seconds in the side circles.

(E2) Distorted dimension

- Upon hitting enemy heroes with Shouting Giant Spider Mask, you obtain 1 stack of distortion per enemy hero hit; distortion cancels out the next enemy attack you were gonna be hit by wether it was physical or magical. You can hold up to 5 stacks of distortion and they dissapear after 4 seconds if not used.

Level 16

(W1) Depressive feelings

- Hitting enemies with Sighing Osakabe Mask will reduce the damage they deal by 2% per hit for 5 seconds, stacks up to 30%. Additionally Sighing Osakabe mask duration is increased by 1 second.

(W2) The Lion's reach

- Increase all of Delighted Lion's Mask reach by 1 (0-3, 3-5, 5-8). Enemies hit also have their speed reduced by 20% for 2.5 seconds.

(Passive) The Lost Emotion

- Hitting enemy heroes with any abilities stacks Lost Emotion on them. After stacking 10 times on them, stacks are consumed and enemies are silenced for 2.5 seconds. Stacks last for 5 seconds.

Level 20

(R1) The earth's demise

- If using Roaring Youkai Fox Mask empowered by Sighing Osakabe Mask, upon landing, creates walls of magic that connect all 3 landing spots. This walls can only be traversed by foot by your allies. The walls also prevent enemy vision inside unless an enemy hero is caught as well.

(R2) Tsuchigumo's spirit

- If using "Dance of Empty-Hearted Masks: Noh of Darkness" against a single enemy, they take 2 aditional hits and are not pushed back. Increases root duration of Shouting Giant Spider Mask by 0.5 seconds when using your ultimate ability regardless of how many targets are hit.

(Passive) Hopeless Masquerade "Manipulation of Emotions"

- Targets hit by Kokoro will inmediately see their armor value changed to zero for 3 seconds (unless it was already negative).

(D) Phantasmagoric Emotion Transfer

- Hitting enemy heroes with your abilities triggers effects on them deppending on the current active mask for 1 second:

+ Mask of Anger makes the target take 22(+4%) damage per hit done by Kokoro on them for 1 second.

+ Mask of Joy drains 5 enemy mana per hit.

+ Mask of Stoicism makes the target cooldowns go 50% slower for 2 seconds.

Overview

- Mostly designed to be a bruiser with high AoE damage since those are quite uncommon.

- Can't fill for a main tank, could easily fill the solo lane role.

- Might be one of my hardest concepts thus far, her mana costs are high so ability rotations are available but quite expensive.

- I like the concept of Alarak for having 2 ultimates. I wanted something similar but thematic with her so I gave her both ultimates, usable at specific times but sharing the cooldowns.

- Her ability to chase is not superb but it's not bad either and her damage is quite good if used properly.

- Kind of hard to focus her down which is the main reason I gave an internal cooldown on her Es after changing modes. Used properly you can use this to your team's advantage.
