Heavy Weapons Guy

Siberian Strongman

Like a hibernating bear, the Heavy appears to be a gentle giant. Also like a bear, confusing his deliberate, sleepy demeanor with gentleness will get you ripped limb from limb. Though he speaks simply and moves with an economy of energy that's often confused with napping, the Heavy isn't dumb; he's not your big friend and he generally wishes that you would just shut up before he has to make you shut up.

Origin: Team Fortress 2 (Valve, 2007)

Heavy's focus as a Hero is on damage output and not a whole lot else. He's slow, but if an enemy gets in his way while he's spun up, they can say goodbye to their health. He earns his keep as a Tank by having a high health pool and self-healing move that makes him irritatingly difficult to kill even on his own, encouraging him to plow into enemy territory and be a general nuisance as he pokes foes from afar with his long-ranged but inaccurate basic attack, prompting them to either retreat or engage- both are fine by him.

- Health: High
- Mana: N/A
- Utility: Low
- Survivability: Medium
- Difficulty: Low

Combat Trait

1
Heavyweight
Heavy takes half as much knockback from all sources, and any effects that forcibly move him around will only take him half as far.
2
A - Minigun
Heavy's Basic Attack has him wind up his minigun, taking 0.87 seconds before he can begin attacking but raining a storm of high-damage bullets down upon enemies from afar. He has no maximum targeting range, but the minigun has a significant spread and damage falloff and begins to lose effectiveness beyond medium range. He can move while attacking, his movement speed is slowed significantly while doing so.

Primary Abilities

1
Q - Spin Up
Heavy spins up his minigun, ready for any approaching enemies. This has all of the same effects as his automatic spin-up as part of his Basic Attack, allowing him to fire without any delay whenever he pleases, but he is also subject to its lowered movement speed and must spin down by using the ability again before using Sandvich or Killing Gloves of Boxing. Can be used while attacking to stay spun up after he stops firing.

Toggleable, no cooldown. Spinning up and down takes 0.87 seconds each.
2
W - Sandvich
Heavy takes out a sandwich and takes a bite, restoring 100% of his health over a channel period of 4 seconds. While this is an incredibly powerful tool for sustainability, it leaves him highly vulnerable as he is completely unable to act until he's done eating, requiring him to find a quiet spot away from the fight to stuff his face and making a mid-battle banquet a death sentence.

30 second cooldown. Self-cast.
3
E - Killing Gloves of Boxing
Heavy puts on a pair of boxing gloves and throws a powerful punch in the targeted direction. Has a short range, but deals high damage and briefly stuns any enemy Heroes hit. If an enemy is hit with this attack then dies within one second, the Heavy will gain a special crit boost status effect, doubling the damage of his Basic Attack and removing its damage falloff effect for 5 seconds. Aesthetically, this is indicated by his minigun glowing bright blue (for allies) or red (for enemies) and emitting sparks of colored lightning.

7 second cooldown.

Secondary Abilities

1
1 - Share Sandvich
Heavy throws his Sandvich out, creating a pickup that can be collected by any Hero, allied or enemy. This will restore 50% of their health; if left alone, the pickup will expire on its own after 10 seconds, but Heavy can pick it up himself to immediately refresh the move's cooldown.

Shares cooldown with Sandvich.

Heroic Abilities

1
R1 - Russian Rampage
Heavy roars with anger, entering a special Rage state that lasts for 6 seconds. In this state, his damage output, defense, and movement speed (both normally and while spun up) are all noticeably increased, but the Minigun also deals steady knockback that can push foes out of its effective range fairly easily. Regardless, it can be used in a defensive context by pushing foes away from your structures and teammates.

22 second cooldown. Self-cast.
2
R2 - Soviet Slammer
Heavy lifts his minigun high into the air, then slams it down to the ground with a thunderous crash. The force of this display of might creates a circular shockwave around Heavy that knocks enemies back, dealing moderate damage and Slowing enemies for 5 seconds.

15 second cooldown.

Talents

Level 1:
- [A] Shooting Good: The Minigun's damage output will increase by 5% for every consecutive second spent firing it, resetting when it stops with an upper limit of 50% (10 seconds).
- [E] Gloves of Running Urgently: Using the Killing Gloves of Boxing will send Heavy forward in a lunge attack, about twice the distance of Tracer's Blink.
- [1] I Doktor Now: Healing an ally with a tossed Sandvich will reduce its cooldown by 10 seconds.

Level 4:

- [W] Lunch Rush: If Heavy is interrupted while eating his Sandvich, he will gain a 20% boost to damage and movement speed for 8 seconds.
- [E] Clean Sweep: Killing Gloves of Boxing's range is doubled.
- [P] Big Boned: Heavy's passive knockback resistance is increased to 75%.

Level 7:
- [E] Super Punch-Out: Hitting an enemy with the Killing Gloves of Boxing will reduce its cooldown by 3 seconds.
- [W] Kitchen Nightmare: Sandvich will give Heavy two seconds of immunity to all debuffs for each second spent eating, triggering after the channel ends by any means.
- [P] Wall of Muscle: Heavy's damage resistance rises as his health falls in 5% increments for each 10% lost, up to 45% at 10% health or less.

Level 10:
- [R1] Russian Rampage: As described above.
- [R2] Soviet Slammer: As described above.

Level 13:
- [A/Q] Heavy Weapons Spy: While spun up or firing the Minigun in a bush, Heavy is Unrevealable.
- [A/Q] Precision Barrel: Significantly increases the accuracy and decreases damage falloff of the Minigun, but it takes 1.5 times as long to spin up.
- [A] Spray and Pray: Doubles the damage of Minigun bullets when they hit something that is not the selected target.

Level 16:
- [A/Q] Ham Planet: Slowly pulls in nearby enemies automatically while spun up with a wind effect.
- [1] Teleported Bread: Thrown Sandviches are now poisonous, and will inflict damage over time to enemies for 10 seconds instead of healing. In combination with I Doktor Now, poisoning enemies will also reduce its cooldown.
- [E] Megaton Punch: The Killing Gloves of Boxing will create an impassable wall of rubble for 4 seconds, similar to that of Sgt. Hammer's Barricade. In combination with Gloves of Running Urgently, the wall will be created at the end of the dash.

Level 20:
- [R1] Funeral March: Heavy becomes Unstoppable for the duration of Russian Rampage.
- [R2] Concussive Crash: Enemies hit by the Soviet Slammer are Stunned for several seconds.
- [W] Quick Snack: Sandvich's eating animation can be canceled instantly at any time by pressing W again, allowing Heavy to only heal as much as he needs or abort early if an enemy arrives. Doing this will not trigger Lunch Rush.
- [A/Q] Permanent Revolution: The Minigun spins up twice as fast.
