Helix and Hobart

Demolition Squad

Mentally unstable, low tempered, careless and reckless goblin engineer is not always an easy sight for both friend and foe. Unfortunately, it can always get worse. Imagine two such goblins: now that's quite a "dizazta" team. Helix and Hobart are masters of goblin engineering which is no easy task -- it requires a lot of brains and luck to not blow yourself up! Due to their "experimentation", both of these lunatics were exiled from Kezan some time before Mount Kajaros eruption that was caused by Deathwing (Yes, yes it was...). Nobody knows how they ended within the Nexus - not even them, but they are here and they are ready to demolish!

Combat Trait

Dizazta Team (D)
Helix and Hobart can be controlled independently.
If nearby they can use their mount: Roadrager Choppa!.
Both heroes have their movement speed passively increased by 10%.
Both heroes have separate death timers. If killed, each one counts as 0.5 to the enemy team, granting 50% experience.

Activate to select both Helix and Hobart.

Primary Abilities

Bombs Away (Q)
HELIX

Throws a bomb to a targeted area, dealing 100 (+4% per level) damage. Deals 50% less damage to structures. If thrown on EMP Bomb, it will detonate it early.

Cost: 45 Mana.
Cooldown: 5 seconds.

EMP Bomb (Q)
HOBART

After 0.75 seconds place a bomb onto a targeted location which lies dormant for 4 seconds. After 4 seconds the bomb explodes, dealing 190 (+4% per level) damage in a large area. The bomb can be detonated early with Helix' Bombs Away (Q).
The bomb can be destroyed with 5 Basic Attacks. Deals 50% less damage to Minions, Mercenaries and Heroes.

Cost: 70 Mana.
Cooldown: 16 seconds.

Explosive Wire (W)
HELIX

Create an explosive parameter which lasts for 6 seconds. Enemies who step in its area take 80 (+4% per level) damage and are slowed by 40% for 2 seconds. The wire contains 4 bombs and each is triggered separately. Vector casting.

Cost: 70 Mana.
Cooldown: 12 seconds.

Boom Chicken (W)
HOBART

Unleashes a mechanical chicken that walks to a targeted area and explodes upon reaching it after 2 seconds, dealing 150 (+4% per level) damage. Nearby enemy Heroes will trigger the chicken to chase them. The chicken will run towards the first and closest target and deal 210 (+4% per level) damage if it reaches the target within 3 seconds of being triggered. If it fails to reach its target it will explode, dealing 150 (+4% per level) damage.

Cost: 80 Mana.
Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Disable (E)
HELIX and HOBART

Disable a targeted tower, fort or keep. The selected structure deals 15% less damage and its attack speed is reduced by 20%. Lasts till canceled. A single building can only be affected by one Disable at a time.

Cost: 8 Mana per second.
Cooldown: 1 second.

Helix has a long Basic Attack range, fast Attack Speed and a moderate single target damage.

Select to control Hobart.

Hobart has a short Basic Attack range and slow Attack Speed, but deals splash damage with each attack.

HELIX and HOBART

After 0.75 seconds fly to a targeted area on the map. Wide range. Both Helix and Hobart can use Rocket Boots independently. If both are selected, they will both use the ability. One will jump without another if the others Rocket Boots are on cooldown.

Cost: 50 Mana.
Cooldown: 60 seconds.

Clockwerk Armor
HELIX

Passive: Helix armors up in a special combat suit that enhances his battle performance, increasing Basic Attack range by 1, Health by 20%, Health Regeneration by 1.1, Attack Damage by 40% and Attack Speed to 1.0.

Amplifier
HOBART

Hobart places a signal amplifier which produces a large energy field. Using Bombs Away (Q) or placing Explosive Wire (W), EMP Bomb (Q) and Boom Chicken (W) within Amplifiers energy field will increase the radius of explosions and damage by 25%. Amplifier lasts for 15 seconds, but it can be destroyed early with 5 basic attacs.

Cost: 70 Mana.
Cooldown: 90 seconds.

Special Mount

Roadrager Choppa!
A finest vehicle produced by goblin engineering! Can fit two goblins or one large dwarf.

Usable only if both Helix and Hobart are nearby.

Level 1


Tick-Tock: Cooldown of EMP Bomb is reduced by 2 seconds and cast time by 0.25 seconds.

Electromagnetic Overload: EMP Bomb dormant period is reduced by 1 second.

Fuse Extension: Adds a 5th bomb to Explosive Wire.

HIT THE GAS!: Helix and Hobart become Unstoppable and immune to dismount for 1.5 seconds after using Roadrager Choppa!.


Level 4


Hacker: Disable can be used on enemy gates, allowing ally Heroes to pass through them. The effect persists for 2 seconds after canceling Disable.

Sabotage: Increase damage reduction of Disable by an additional 10%.

Effective Demolition: Reduce Mana cost of Disable from 8 per second to 5 per second.

Goblin Greed: Increases experience gain from destroyed structures by 40%.


Level 7


Special Delivery: Quest (!): Damage 20 Heroes with Bombs Away. Reward: Reduce Mana cost of Bombs Away to 40 Mana. Quest (!): Damage 30 Heroes with Bombs Away. Reward: Reduce Cooldown of Bombs Away by 1 second. Quest (!): Damage 40 Heroes with Bombs Away. Reward: Increase damage of Bombs Away by 100.

Bouncy Bombs: Bombs Away now bounces a short distance if no target is damaged.

Cluck Cluck Boom: Reduce cooldown of Boom Chicken by 5 seconds.

Firecrackers: Stepping onto Explosive Wire empowers Helix' next basic attack to deal bonus 60 (+4% per level) damage. This effect has a 5 second cooldown.

Rocket Boots.

Level 13


Offensive Matrix: Quest (!): Chase and damage 5 enemy Heroes with Boom Chicken. Reward: Boom Chicken now jumps to its target when triggered.

Nesting Season: Boom Chicken can no longer be triggered into chase by nearby enemy heroes. Instead, it lays an egg. The egg explodes 1.5 seconds after the chicken does, dealing 50% of Boom Chicken damage.

Electrostatic Discharge: Deal 70 (+4% per level) damage to whoever attacks a dormant EMP Bomb.

Teamwork: Allows both Helix and Hobart to use Disable on the same structure (stacking the effect).

Lunatics: Dizazta Team now grants 15% bonus move speed. Helix and Hobart no longer give experience to the enemy team upon death. Those freaking lunatics, they are just not worth it...

Level 16


Bombardment: Damaging the same Hero with Bombs Away puts a debuff on that Hero, increasing damage taken from Bombs Away by 5%. Stacks 3 times. Stacks last for 7 seconds. Switching targets removes stacks from the previous target.

It's a trap!: Explosive Wire becomes invisible after 1 second of being cast.

Barbed Wire: Increases the slow amount of Explosive Wire from 40 to 60%.

Shockwave: Heroes affected by EMP Bombs explosion are silenced for 1.5 seconds.


Level 20


Rocket Propulsion: Reduce Mana cost of Rocket Boots to 30 Mana, cooldown to 40 seconds and adds global range.

Titanium Plating: Further increase Health by 10%, Health Regeneration by 0.5 and Attack damage by 10%. In addition, reduce duration of crowd control effects by 50%.

Antenna: Increases range of explosions by 20% and damage by 10%.

Short Fuse: Activate: Refresh cooldowns of both Helix' and Hobarts Basic Abilities. Cooldown: 120 seconds.

Feel free to comment your ideas and thoughts on this concept. I spent more time theorycrafting around this kind of concept than I usually would and I'm glad that I did for it allowed me to do justice to this type(s) of Hero(es). I'm satisfied as to how it all turned up. Updates and new ideas will come in the future and I will update the guide as often as possible. There is quite a lot of potential versatility with these two so any suggestions are welcomed. I hope you find this concept interesting. Obviously, much like other concepts, take everything with a grain of salt (especially the numbers -- if anything they are more of a guideline to how powerful abilities/talents should be). Of course feel free to use any ideas and info in this concept for some of your own ideas!

Various text changes/clarifications.

Disable (E) reworked. Ammo removal per second is removed. Damage reduction increased from 10% to 15%. Bonus effect: Affected structure has its attack speed reduced by 20%.

Rocket Boots cooldown lowered to 60 seconds (from 70).
Level 7 talent Firecrackers now has a 5 seconds cooldown. Damage gained increased from 50(+4% per level) to 60(+4% per level).

Some Basic Stats changed for both Helix and Hobart.

Amplifier: Explosion area and damage now both are at 25% (from 30% and 20% respectively). Additionally, cooldown is reduced from 100 to 90 seconds and Mana Cost from 90 to 70 Mana.
