Kerrigan (Rework)

The Queen of Blades

Disclaimer: This is more a theoretical concept. I understand that people want a Kerrigan rework, but I find it unlikely that Blizz is going to change that much of her... This is because some people who bought Kerrigan probably are accustomed to her already, and fully changing her might be a bit hard for them. You might not agree with this proposal, and that's fine; the profosal here is made just for fun and to see a different type of Kerrigan trying to take a bit more from her Sc2 feeling.


She is changed to a Specialist. First change. While it is nice to see Kerrigan as a powerful being that could kill heroes easily, it is also true that she has always been more the terror of full armies. Leading the zerg army herself she has always been hard to hit resisting waves of Terran units while destroying them... She's always been more of an annoying pusher to be reckoned with. That you would send all of your units to her and she would just crush them... She's more of a crushing masses rather than individually killing champions. It is true that Kerrigan faces both Zeratul and Narud one on one, but she isn't as iconically a fighter as she's the Queen of the whole Zerg Swarm. I even believe that this is the main reason the depiction of Kerrigan in Hots seems a bit odd; making her a Specialist from the get go could have been a good idea.


This however creates a problem. This would make the 3 Zerg heroes ingame Specialists... However, that even makes sense for most Zerg representation anyway... Zergs have always been more of massive army control than heroic one on one battles. [that said, Dehaka could be a good warrior for diversification]

For the sake of balance, it might be good keeping her melee (and she was melee in Brood War anyway)

Combat Trait

Assimilation (Active)
Whenever killing an enemy Minion, Mercenary or Hero, receive a stack of Essence. You can activate Assimilation for letting each stack heal you by X HP. The Stacks are lost on death.

Primary Abilities

Kinetic Blast
Deals damage to the targeted unit or structure and its surrounding area (less damage to the area)

Infest Broodlings
Targeted unit will have its movement slowed for 4 Seconds and when killed it will spawn 2 Broodlings. Heroes killed while infested spawn 4 Broodlings instead.

Primal Grasp
Pulls enemies within the target area towards you, dealing X damage.

No Changes

Summon Ultralisk
The focus more on the area attack rather than the speed.

(As an alternative to Ultraliks, not sure) Spawn Leviathan

Talents

(Talents with no description are either kept from current Kerrigan, or are common talents)

Level 1:
- Seasoned Marksman (Yes, even if she's an Specialist, it goes well with the Trait in a pushing way)
-Demolitionist
- [Q] Kinetic Improvements: Reduces cooldown of Kinetic Blast
- [E] Sweeping Grasp
- [W] Painful Infestation: Infesting a unit with Broodlings deals X damage

Level 4:
- Superiority
- Envenom
- Fury of the Swarm
- [E] Psionic Pulse
- [Q] Clean Kill: If Kinetic Blast kills the enemy it also returns 100% of the mana expended.

Level 7:
- Battle Momentum
- Rapid Incubation (From Zagara)
- Wild Mutation: (Active) Near units gain X shield
- Consume: (Active) Allows you to sacrifice a friendly unit to gain 5 Essence Stacks.

Level 10
- [R] Maelstrom
- [R] Summon Ultralisk (Or Leviathan?)

Level 13
- Burning Rage
- Giant Killer
-Chrysallis (Active): Same as Ice Block but it also activates Assimilation.
-[D] Lingering Essence: Increases the maximum number of Essence Stacks. Start with X st

Level 16
- [D] Aggressive Defense: Essence Stacks heal X HP more.
- Overdrive
- Stoneskin
- [W] Broodling War: Infest Broodling affects enemy units in an area instead of a single target.

Level 20
- [R] Omegastorm: Maelstrom Size increased by 25%. Amount of Essence generated by Maelstrom increased by 50%.
- [R] Torrasque
- Fury of the Storm
- Bolt of the Storm
