Koltira Deathweaver [Complete Concept +Talent Tree, Balancing in Progress]

First Death Knight of the Horde

Koltira is a Death Knight who uses Runes and Runic Power instead of Mana to Empower himself in Combat.
100 Runic Power.
4 Unholy Runes.
2 Blood Runes.
Runes have a 6 Second Cooldown.
Only 1 Rune of each type may Recharge at a time.
5 Runic Power is Generated when damaged by a Basic Attack or Basic Ability.

Combat Trait

Improved Unholy Presence
Movement Speed and Attack Speed are increased by 20%.

Master of Ghouls
Raise a Ghoul that Permanently fights beside you. The Ghoul has 50% of your Maximum Health and Attack.
20 Second CD.
Costs 1 Unholy Rune.

Primary Abilities

Festering Strike
Deal 66 (+11 per Level) and refresh the duration of Frost Fever and Blood Plague on the Target.
Cooldown: 4 Seconds.
Costs 1 Unholy and 1 Blood Rune.

Plague Strike
Deal 50 (+14 per Level) Damage and Apply Frost Fever and Blood Plague.
Cooldown: 8 Seconds.
Costs 1 Unholy Rune.

Soul Reaper
Deal 36 (+ 14 per Level) Damage to your target. Deal 28 (+8 per Level) additional Damage if your target is below 35% Health.
Cooldown: 8 Seconds.
Costs 20 Runic Power.

Secondary Abilities

Frost Fever
For 5 Seconds Movement speed is slowed by 15%.

Blood Plague
Deal 220 (+32 per Level) over 10 Seconds.

Claw [Ghoul Ability]
Deal 44 (+9 per Level).
Cooldown: 2 Seconds.
Energy: 40.

Gnaw [Ghoul Ability]
Stun an Enemy Hero and deal 60 (+8 per Level) over 2 seconds.
Cooldown: 9 Seconds.
Costs 20 Energy.

Leap [Ghoul Ability]
Deal 22 (+6 per Level) Damage and leap to a targeted Enemy Hero.
Cooldown: 12 Seconds.
Generates 10 Energy.

Heroic Abilities

Death and Decay
Deal 32 (+8 per Level) Damage to all Enemies and Deal 6 (+6 per Level) damage more for every second they stay within the radius. Large Radius. Lasts 12 seconds.
Cooldown: 90 Seconds.
Costs 1 Blood and 1 Unholy.

Shadow Infusion
Every time you use a Basic Ability generate 1 Charge of Shadow Infusion.
Maximum of 5 Charges.
Each Charge of Shadow Infusion increases the Health, Attack, Attack Speed and Basic Ability Damage of your Ghoul by 5%.

Talents

Tier 1 - Level 1:

1. Rune of the Fallen Crusader: Koltira Engraves Byfrost with a Rune that has a 20% chance to allow Basic Attacks to Leech 5% of an Enemy Heroes Maximum Health.

2. Rune of Razorice: Koltira Engraves Byfrost with a Rune at allows Basic Attacks to Deal 24 (+12 per Level) Damage over 3 Seconds.

3. Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle: Koltira Engraves Byfrost with a Rune that give Basic Attacks a 30% chance to Trigger Block. This effect cannot occur more than once every 5 seconds.

4. Rune of Spellshattering: Koltira Engraves Byfrost with a Rune that Reduces the Duration of Silences and Stuns by 50%.

Tier 2 - Level 4:

1. Envenom: Activate to poison an enemy Hero, dealing 180 (+30 per Level) damage over 5 seconds.

2. Unholy Might: Blood Plague deals 10% more Damage.

3. Gathering Power: Passively grants 5% Ability Power. Each Hero takedown increases this bonus by 2% to a maximum of 15%. This bonus Ability Power is reset to 5% on death.

4. Focused Attack: Every 10 seconds, your next Basic Attacks deal 75% additional damage. Basic Attacks reduce this cooldown by 1 seconds.

Tier 3 - Level 7:

1. Battle Momentum: Basic Attacks reduce Ability cooldowns by 0.5 seconds.

2. Power of the Grave: Whenever Minions and Mercenaries die around you (Friendly and Enemy), Raise it with 50% of the Damage and Health for your Team.

3. Promote: Activate to give target allied lane Minion +300% Health and +100% damage for 30 seconds. Has 2 charges.

4. On a Pale Horse: Activate to become Unstoppable and Gain 35% Movement Speed for 3 seconds.

5. Reaping: Deal 14 (+8 per Level) damage over 5 seconds. If a Minion dies from this effect it is risen with 25% less Attack and Health. (Only effects Minions).

Tier 5 - Level 13:

1. Follow Through: After using an ability, your next Basic Attack within 6 seconds deals 40% additional damage.

2. Dreadblade: Activate to increase the Damage of your next Basic Attack by 20% and Generate 20 Runic Power.

3. Anti-Magic Shell: Upon taking Ability Damage , reduce that damage and further Ability Damage by 60% for 3 seconds. Can only trigger once every 25 seconds.

Tier 6 - Level 16:

1. Blood for Blood: Activate to steal 15% of target enemy's Max Health and slow its movement by 30% for 3 seconds.
2. Unholy Aura
: Movement Speed and Attack Speed are increased by 15%.


3. Giant Killer: Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes deal bonus damage equal to 1.5% of the Hero's max Health.


4. Stoneskin: Activate to gain 30% of your maximum Health as a Shield for 5 seconds.

Tier 7 - Level 20:

1. Dark Transformation [Shadow Infusion Upgrade]: Increase the Maximum Charges of Shadow Infusion by 5.

At 10 Charges of Shadow Infusion, activate to turn your Ghoul into an Undead monstrosity for 30 seconds. The Ghouls Abilities deal 50% increased Damage.
Cooldown: 60 Seconds.
Consumes all Charges of Shadow Infusion.

2. Defile [Death and Decay Upgrade]:Death and Decay grows 10% in size every second and now slows enemy movement speed by 5% every second.

3. Purgatory: When you sustain Fatal Damage you instead become Immune and Unstoppable for 4 seconds. 90 second Cooldown.

4. Plague Leech: Consume your Diseases on the target replenish 4 Randomly depleted Runes.

I see that you have made Hero Concepts for both Koltira and Th***arian and gave BOTH of them the same Traits by the looks of it. What's the point? Why not give each of them only one presence if either of them are mostly either Blood, Frost or Unholy focused anyway? They would be too similar in that regard. Plus you're making this whole Trait thing here more complicated than it needs to be. You don't need to port half of the Death Knight class' abilities, or Prensences in this case, from WoW to HotS.

And this is just my personal opinion but I don't think either Th***arian and Koltira are so well known or overall liked characters that they should be added to the game. Not to mention how we have Arthas pretty much covering the whole Death Knight thing. But if I had to add one more Death Knight like hero to the game I would go for Darion Mograine. Can't think of any other Death Knights whom I would see 'worthy' enough to be added. But I doubt he will make it either.

Yeah Darion and teron Gorefiend are very strong to be added to HoTS also that Deathbringer is quite good opt. But when there will be room for them why no add them... It's good to have more Heroes...

Yeah that army... Which he supposedly not have in original. Where are Valkyries, Defiles and other iconic stuff from his boss fight...
Yeah wotlk was a long time ago so I forget that... (sorry for that abuse on don't playing wotlk on your saurfang concept)

I was thinking that Lurid be a Lane/Mercenaries minion while Koltira's Ghoul be an extension of himself ie shadow infusion.

I would like to use Army but it's already taken (Damn you Arthas <shakes fist at the sky>). I remember when DK could Raise Dead on all specs so in my mind Frost and Unholy having a Ghoul makes sense.

I am planning on using Dancing Rune Weapon for another Hero after I finish Vanessa Vancleef.

Death and decay looks great but you could implement Gargoyle or Dancing Rune Weapon (yeah i know it's from blood but since he has blood runes as well he could have this option) in case of second heroic.
To the ghoul. I don't know. But with that Lurid on Th*** people might get confused. But yeah I know that unholy is iconic for having a ghoul by his side. Maybe it's viable :)

Wow I didn't except that fast reaction. So good job and with your problem I don't know, like now i have one concept but it has only abilities and it isn't finished yet so i can't tell whats wrong... To heroics i read it at home and tell which one is suitable for him :)

The color, spacing, unique characters and images I post into the Talents keep reverting to Code. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks sw1tchCZ. I realized after I had started work on it I had put the wrong name to Unholy and Frost. I will make Th*** Frost and Koltira Unholy.

I plan on removing Death grip as a Concept option for Teron Gorefiend (I will start him after I finish the Trio of Death Knight's I have started).

One more thing, I have extra heroics for the Death Knights, that is because I have more ideas for abilities than I need thus I am leaving the 2 heroics to be decided by the community.

Nice work with all that DK's. But i have some feeling that you have it wrong. Th*** is, for as I know, Frost DK and Koltira looks like Blood or Unholy or maybe Frost too due to his runeblade called Byfrost. The fact that Th*** have Lurid (where is he in your concept???) is that he was Alliance soldier in squad with Th*** on his mission in Northrend. But he was/is on some core talents for Frost DK's. Deathbringer is correctly Blood (it's easy due to his name).
