Lady Liadrin

Blood Knight Matriarch

Lady Liadrin is the leader of the Blood Knights. The Blood Knights are an order of former priests and warriors who use the Light magics from the enslaved Naaru M'uru. Liadrin herself, a former elven priestess, became disillusioned with the Light following the Fall of Quel'Thalas. She had long forsaken her Light-given powers when M'uru was transported to Silvermoon following the capture of Tempest Keep. Magister Astalor Bloodsworn proposed using the Naaru's powers to bestow certain blood elves with the powers of paladins. Liadrin was the first to volunteer to make use of these powers, and thus she became the first and leader of the Blood Knights.

Ok, so my initial thought was to make Liadrin a "Jack of All Trades" Hero but as Siperos stated (and I agree with this) a "Jack of All Trades" does not fit this game very well so my new approach is more of a "Fill in the Blank" concept to where, you have a standard Q that just deals X damage and a standard W that heals X damage then you get a "Separate" talent choice for your E which defines your play style with this character (Thanks to Siperos, I got the idea from your Garona Concept which looks really good.) and you use the Talents to "Fill in the Blank" of your Q and W.

The Trait (Beacon of Light) is a Holy Paladin Ability in WoW that I thought would serve a Self Sustained Tank or to provide a healer more versatility especially in team fights and it is unique to anything else currently in Heroes of the Storm.

Perhaps that's because every other hero concept does indeed have problems in my opinion. If I see something that I consider as a problem in a hero concept or I think it could be done better then I say it. The moment people publishes their Hero Concepts here they're open for feedback and criticism whether they liked it or not. You don't need to agree with my opinions or even change the Hero Concept to appeal me or anyone else but you better get used to the idea that some people are not going to agree with you and even thinks that your Hero Concept is rubbish.

This one has interesting and neat ideas so I have seen far worse concepts. Good thing that the author of this concept doesn't shy away from even harsh criticism and that I respect. Even if he/she disagrees with me and won't make changes I find necessary.

Falstad has never been classified as a Shaman, though. And even if he was I don't care what heroes the Alliance have. Liadrin as a Horde paladin is fine in my books (heck, Horde doesn't have any more well known paladins) but I would rather see the more wanted heroes being added first such as Grom (warrior), Rexxar (hunter), Gul'dan (warlock), Garona (rogue), Zul'jin (troll axethrower) and possibly some others to 'balance' the number of Horde and Alliance heroes. She can be added later for all I care if there's still room and Blizzard feels like it.

I appreciate your opinions Dan3rz and Siperos but again, I only threw this together in a couple of hours with a few ideas I had and will update it further in the days to come. What looks like a jack of all trades, and highly unorganized Hero now could be an awesome, Healer or Tank Hero tomorrow.

Again, I appreciate that you are taking the time to read this and I hope I can make this a Cool Paladin of the Horde by the time I am "Done".

Siperos, you seem to have an argument agains EVERY other hero concept I've seen you comment on due to having "wow based abilities for the wow based hero" amongst other things.... I don't understand why. The hero concept idea is Supposed to give fans of the series' the chance to make their own heroes with their own ideas based on the games.

Liadrin is a fine choice for a Horde paladin, same way a hero already in the game, Falstad, is a fine choice for an Alliance Shaman. (you know, that HORDE CLASS).

Thing with the concept though, is I do believe Lidrin is a more Retribution themed paladin, atleast in WoW. As we've seen with Uther, another support paladin, he seems more heal/utility focussed, while Liadrin for you seems Support/Damage focussed, which is fine, but I do feel you have too much damage abilities for support, i'd maybe suggest changing one damage ability, and the Avenging Wrath heroic to be more of a utility sort of ability that could be cast on teammates rather than just yourself (in Avenging Wraths case atleast).

Although, even if you prefer the abilities you have, you could also change Beacon of Light slightly, so that a percentage of damage you deal is done as healing to your beacon target. this would mean Avenging Wrath is better suited imo.

Otherwise its a nice idea for a concept, Horde could certainly do with a paladin representative, I just think Liadrin would be better suited to a Ret role.

Alright. I admit. The idea of customizing your at first dull and plain abilities with talents to be used for either Assassin, Warrior or Support role does sound very neat and interesting. Still not sure if that's too much diversity for one single hero but I admit the idea is neat.

Now, I have nothing wrong with seeing Maraad or Turalyon in Heroes of the Storm but we have a 5-2 Alliance to Horde Ratio so I think some more Horde Heroes would be nice and that is my personal preference, it does not HAVE to be Liadrin but as I stated to Madnorik there are not really any notable Horde Paladins and I see it as "Why should Alliance be the only ones with Paladins" like it was in WoW for a while.
... So you want to bring balance to the Horde and Alliance hero numbers? Alright. Fair enough. But tell me; WHY ON EARTH YOU DECIDED TO GO WITH THE MOST UN-HORDE LIKE CLASS YOU COULD THINK OF?!? Paladin?! Out of all classes! No Warrior, no Warlock, no Hunter, no Rogue (I made Garona Halforcen rogue Hero Concept myself that I can show you if you want) but a PALADIN! Jesus Christ... Dude, if you want to make a Horde Hero Concept then please anything but a paladin. Trust me; we who want to play Horde hero characters, like myself who mains Thrall, we don't give two rats *** about paladins. If we did we would play Alliance.

Well Siperos, the point behind the Primary Abilities being blank is so they can be filled in through the talent's to allow the player to choose from a Warrior or Support Build without have restrictions on their abilities. Now, as far as Avenging Wrath goes, nothing is final and I didn't really care for it that much myself and plan on doing a replacement for it or altering it.

Alright, firstly the Trait, while the basic idea is very neat, is too powerful if the beacon effect on an allied hero is lost only when the said hero dies or when Liadrin casts it on another target. I don't think it should potentially last forever on a hero. And secondly the abilities are simply dull. Two plain abilities that does nothing but simple damage and one plain insta-healing spell that is basically Uther's Holy Light spell by the looks of it. How exciting, creative and original! The second Heroic, Avenging Wrath, is also simply dull and uninteresting. It's not BAD. But it doesn't look fun or creative either. Light's Hammer on the other hand looks good and fun.

Overall, this is a boring, unoriginal and plain Hero Concept with no real effort put into it. And I don't think that any hero should try to be a 'jack of all trades'. It just doesn't work. Not in this game anyway. You can make her, say a Support focused hero who can become more damage and crowd control focused, like Uther for instance, while still being a Support but trying to make a hero who can potentially be either an Assassin, Warrior or Support won't work. Why? Because if you try to make her being able to be any of those three she won't be able to be any of those very well. Every other hero would be a better Support, Warrior or Assassin because Liadrin doesn't have any real focus on any certain role.

And this is just my personal preference but I would rather see a draenei paladin/vindicator such as Maraad over a blood elf. Liadrin is not that significant or important character that deserves a place in Heroes of the Storm in my opinion. I simply can't see Blizzard adding her. Even Valeera Sanguinar got bigger chances if we're talking about blood elves.

I see your point Mandorik, but I did just throw this together in a couple of hours. Kind of a speed Build as I just had a few ideas and Lady Liadrin was the first Paladin to come to mind. I had considered using Turalyon or Bolvar (before he was french fried) but we currently only have 1 Blood Elf ingame and that is Sylvannas who is Forsaken and we have plenty of Humans.

Besides, the Horde does not actually have that many notable Paladins and we have far more Alliance Heroes than Horde currently in Heroes of the Storm. I will continue to Update this to hopefully fit Lady Liadrin a bit better without losing too much of what I have already built.

The skills are too "Alliance-Paladin" if you know what I meant. Liadrin is a special person. You could abuse her interactions with the Naaru. Still: Nice Idea
