Mad Mack

Hellbat/Hellion Hero Concept

This is a concept for a Hellbat hero with the role of a Bruiser.

Mad Mack has 2 modes available, each with their own strengths and drawbacks.

Hellbat Mode is meant to be Mad Mack's main combat mode.
While in this mode, his basic attacks splash in a wide cone and he gains 15 armor.
This mode also grants access to the Jump Jet Charge ability and causes Super Stimpack to grant increased movement speed.

Hellion Mode is meant to be Mad Mack's skirmisher and mobility mode.
While in this mode, his basic attack hits all enemies in a straight line and he gains movement speed the longer he is moving. This movement speed is lost if he remains stationary for more than 1 second, and after moving there is a brief delay before he can attack again.
This mode also grants access to the Nitrous Boost ability.

While in Hellbat Mode, gain 15 Armor.

Hellion Mode
Acceleration Rate: +10%/sec.
Maximum Movement Speed: +30%
Duration: 1 sec.
While in Hellion Mode, moving grants 10% additional Movement Speed every second, up to 30%, for 1 second.

Attack Speed: 0.75/sec.

Arc: 135°
While in Hellbat Mode, Mad Mack's Basic Attack deals damage in a short but wide cone.




Hellion Mode
Damage: 100
Attack Speed: 0.75/sec.
Range: 5.5
Length: 6.5
Width: 1
While in Hellion Mode, Mad Mack's Basic Attack deals damage in a long but narrow line.
While in Hellion Mode, Mad Mack cannot make a Basic Atack within 1 second of moving.

Cooldown: 2 sec.
Duration: 2 sec.
Activate to transform from one mode to the other over 2 seconds. This cannot be interrupted.

Smart Servos
❢ Quest: Collect Regeneration Globes.
❢ Reward: After collecting 5 Regeneration Globes, Transform's duration is reduced to 1.5 seconds.
❢ Reward: After collecting 15 Regeneration Globes, Transform's duration is reduced to 1 second.
❢ Reward: After collecting 30 Regeneration Globes, Transform's duration is reduced to 0.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 9 sec.
Mana cost: 40
Damage: 70
Radius: 3.5
Slow: 20%
Duration: 3 sec.
Burn Damage: 25
Burn Tickrate: 2/sec.
Launch a Tar Bomb that deals 70 damage and Tars enemies in an area for 3 seconds.
Tarred enemies are slowed by 20%. Basic Attacks against Tarred enemies ignite them, burning them for 25 damage every 0.5 seconds for the remainder of Tar's duration.

[W] Super Stimpack
Cooldown: 20 sec.
Mana cost: 60
Attack Speed Bonus: 50%
Heal: 4% max HP/sec
Movement Speed Bonus: 20% (Hellbat Mode only)
Duration: 5 sec.
Mad Mack gains 50% increased Attack Speed and regenerates 4% of his Maximum Health every second for 5 seconds.
While in Hellbat Mode, Mad Mack also gains 20% increased Movement Speed.

Cooldown: 14 sec.
Mana cost: 50
Movement Speed Bonus: +30%
Duration: 1 sec.
Decay Duration: 2 sec.
While in Hellion Mode, Mad Mack gains 30% additional Movement Speed for 1 second, decaying over the next 2 seconds.
This Movement Speed bonus stacks with Hellion Mode's passive Movement Speed bonus.

Nitrous Boost is only available while in Hellion Mode.

Impact Damage: 120
Takeoff Damage Radius: 2
Impact Damage Radius: 3.5
Range: 5
Duration: 0.75 sec.
While in Hellbat Mode, leap to a target location over 0.75 seconds, dealing 60 damage to all enemies within a radius of 2 upon takeoff and 120 damage to all enemies within a radius of 3.5 upon impact.

Jump Jet Charge is only available while in Hellbat Mode.

[Active] Pedal to the Metal
Cooldown: 30 sec.
Acceleration Rate: +30%/sec.
Duration: 2 sec.
Activate to increase Hellion Mode's acceleration rate to 30% additional Movement Speed per second for 2 seconds.
Basic attacks in Hellion Mode reduce the cooldown of Pedal to the Metal by 1 second.

This ability can only be used in Hellion Mode.

This ability requires the level 1 talent Pedal to the Metal.

[Active] Brimstone Juggernaut
Cooldown: 45 sec.
Duration: 2 sec.
Activate to become Unstoppable for 2 seconds.

This ability requires the level 20 talent Brimstone Juggernaut.

Cooldown: 90 sec.
Mana Cost: 40
Damage: 180
Burn Damage: 30
Tickrate: 2/sec.
Duration: 3 sec.
Radius: 3.5
Delay: 1.5 sec.
Charges: 3
Charge Cooldown: 1 sec.
Call down a Napalm Strike anywhere Mad Mack has vision of after a 1.5 second delay. This Napalm Strike deals 180 damage on impact and creates an AoE that deals 30 damage every 0.5 seconds for 3 seconds.
Rain of Fire has 3 charges with a 1 second cooldown between uses. All charges are restored by its cooldown.

[R2] Infernal Blast
Cooldown: 70
Mana Cost: 300
Damage: 240
Radius: 5
Fear Duration: 2 sec.
After 0.5 seconds, Mad Mack unleashes a blast of fire in all directions, dealing 300 damage within a radius of 5. Enemies hit are Feared for 2 seconds.

General Talents



Level 1


[Trait/Active] Pedal to the Metal
Increases acceleration rate in Hellion Mode to 15% additional Movement Speed per second.
Activate to increase Hellion Mode's acceleration rate to 30% per second for 2 seconds.

[Trait] Top-Up
Collecting a Regeneration Globe increases Super Stimpack's cooldown rate by 60% for the duration of its effect.
? Quest: Collect Regeneration Globes to increase Mad Mack's Health Regeneration by 1, up to 20.
? Reward: After collecting 20 Regeneration Globes, collecting Regeneration Globes increases the next cast of Super Stimpack's heal by 12.5%, stacking up to 50%.

[Basic Attack] Thermite Filaments
Basic Attacks ignore Armor and deal 100% additional damage to non-Heroes.

[Passive] Fire Fighter
Each enemy Hero hit by Mad Mack's Basic Attacks reduces his Basic Ability cooldowns by 0.4 seconds.



Level 4


[Basic Attack] Twin-Linked Flamethrowers
Increases the radius and range of Hellbat Mode's Basic Attacks by 1.
Increases the width of Hellion Mode's Basic Attacks by 1.

[Q] Thickening Agent
Tar's duration is increased by 1 second, and its slow is increased to 40% but now decays over its duration.

[W] Running on Fumes
While in Hellbat Mode, making Basic Attacks during the last 2 seconds of Super Stimpack's duration refreshes the duration of its Movement Speed bonus to 2 seconds.



Level 7


[Q] Immolation Fluid
Basic Attacks against burning Tarred enemies increases its burn damage by 25%, up to 100%.

[W] Adrenal Surge
Super Stimpack grants Mad Mack 10 Armor for its duration. This Armor stacks with Hellbat Mode's Armor.

[E1] Burn Rubber
Nitrous Boost's movement speed bonus no longer decays.

[E2] Puddle Hopper
Increases the range of Jump Jet Charge by 50%.
Jump Jet Charge applies Tar to enemies it hits.



Level 13


[Q] Bring the Heat
Tar reduces enemy damage by 20%, increased to 40% if they are burning.

[E1] Road Rage
While Nitrous Boost is active, colliding with an enemy deals 120 damage, knocks them aside, and stuns them for 0.5 seconds. Heroes hit reduce its cooldown by 1 second.
A given unit can only be hit once per cast of Nitrous Boost.

[E2] Helljumper
Jump Jet Charge grants 10 Armor per enemy Hero hit, up to 50, for 2 seconds.
Hitting at least 2 enemy Heroes with Jump Jet Charge activates an untalented Super Stimpack for free.



Level 16


[Basic Attack] Face Meltor
Basic Attacks deal additional damage to Heroes equal to 1% of their Maximum Health.
Each subsequent Basic Attack within 3 seconds of the last deals 0.5% more of the target's maximum health in damage, stacking up to 2.5% total per Basic Attack.

[Q] Tar Bomba
Increases the radius and damage of Tar Bomb by 100%, but also increases its cooldown by 5 seconds.
Tar applied by Tar Bomb now ignites instantly.

[W] Getting Fired Up
Super Stimpack restores 20% of Mad Mack's Maximum Health instantly.
Super Stimpack's healing is increased by 50% while Mad Mack is below 50% health.

[E2] Bat Outta' Hell
Jump Jet Charge now has 2 charges with a 4 second cooldown between uses.
Hitting at least 2 enemy Heroes with Jump Jet Charge's impact damage restores 1 charge.
Jump Jet Charge's cooldown is increased to 16 seconds.



Level 20


[Basic Attack] Infernal Pre-Igniters
Increases Mad Mack's base Attack Speed to 1 per second.
Basic Attacks in Hellion Mode no longer have a delay after moving.

[Passive/Active] Brimstone Juggernaut
Mad Mack's base Movement Speed is increased by 10% and he gains the ability to push units out of his way.
Activate to become Unstoppable for 2 seconds.

[R1] Firestorm
Rain of Fire gains 3 more charges, but its cooldown is increased by 30 seconds.
Rain of Fire's cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds for every enemy Hero hit by its impact damage.

[R2] Flame On!
Infernal Blast's radius is increased by 20%, and Mad Mack now radiates fire for 3 seconds afterwards, dealing an additional 80 damage per second.
Enemies can only be Feared by the same cast of Infernal Blast once.
