Malik is a melee tank who must draw the fire of his enemies and predict the timing of their attacks to gain lots of Armor and apply consistent crowd control.

Pros:
    Can have consistent Armor, making him very tanky
    With proper trait usage, can apply consistent pressure
    Lots of crowd control options
    Decent engage tools
Cons:
    Requires skillful prediction of enemy attacks to use trait properly
    Loses significant durability and crowd control when his trait is misused

Regen: 4.88 (+4% per level)
Mana: 500 (+10 per level)
Regen: 3.00 (+0.098 per level)
Atk Speed: 0.84 per second
Atk Range: 2.25 (slightly above melee)

A paragon of the Klaxxi, the mantid Malik was known for his peerless fighting technique. He was a master of predicting and repelling his enemies’ attacks, then viciously retaliating with strikes from his halberd.

Malik prepares to deflect incoming attacks, gaining 30 Armor for 1 second. Upon expiring, if Malik took damage during Iron Mantid, he gains 1 stack of Bladeturning and the cooldown of Iron Mantid is reduced by 6 seconds. Upon reaching 6 stacks of Bladeturning, they are consumed to grant Malik a free and empowered cast of Impaling Strike.

Impaling Strike
Cooldown: 9 seconds
Cost: 45 Mana

Malik jabs twice in rapid succession in a target direction with his halberd, dealing 34 (+4% per level) damage to the first enemy hit per strike. Then, he winds up for 0.75 seconds, during which time he can move at full speed but cannot turn, then performs a final strike in the same direction, dealing 68 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit and Stunning them for 0.75 seconds.

Empowered:
When empowered by Bladeturning, Impaling Strike skips to the final strike with no initial jabs or delay, dealing 170 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit and Stunning them for 0.75 seconds.

Defensive Sweep
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Cost: 50 Mana

Malik performs a low sweep with his halberd in a wide arc after a 0.25 second delay, dealing 72 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit and Slowing their movement speed by 20% for 2 seconds. For every enemy hero hit, the cooldown of Iron Mantid is reduced by 2 seconds; if Iron Mantid has full charges, this cooldown reduction is applied to Defensive Sweep instead.

Assertive Charge
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Cost: 30 Mana

Malik dashes a short distance in a target direction and closely watches enemy heroes in a large cone in front of him for 1.5 seconds. The first time any affected hero deals damage to Malik or one of his allies, that instance of damage is reduced by 50% and Malik charges at them, dealing 48 (+4% per level) damage, Stunning them for 0.1 seconds, and generating 1 stack of Bladeturning.

Shockwave

Malik slams the hilt of his halberd into the ground, sending a cone-shaped shockwave in a target direction. Enemies hit by the shockwave take 240 (+4% per level) damage, are Stunned for 0.1 seconds, and have their movement speed Slowed by 40% decaying over 3 seconds. Any enemies already affected by a Stun or Slow when hit by Shockwave have their guard broken, also lowering their Armor by 20 or 10 for 3 seconds depending on which they were affected by.

Wall of Blades
Cooldown: 70 seconds
Cost: 85 Mana

Malik steels himself and prepares to deflect all incoming attacks from a target direction for up to 3 seconds, completely nullifying any damage dealt up to a maximum of 1500 (+4% per level). Any allied heroes within a medium radius of Malik are also protected from attacks in the same direction. For every 300 (+4% per level) damage absorbed, Malik generates 1 stack of Bladeturning. Wall of Blades also temporarily prevents stacks of Bladeturning from being consumed.

Malik can recast Wall of Blades to end its effects early or recast it shortly after its effects end naturally to charge in a target direction, taking all enemy heroes hit along with him to the end of his path and dealing 104 (+4% per level) damage to them, increased by 15% for every stack of Bladeturning he has.

Talents

Juggernaut - While Malik has Armor, he receives 15% increased movement speed and cannot be Slowed.
Counterattack - Whenever Malik generates a stack of Bladeturning, his basic attack damage is increased by 10% for 4 seconds. Multiple instances of Counterattack stack effects, but not duration.
