Naj'entus

Naga High Warlord

Background: Few naga matched the strength of Naj'entus. He was a champion of Lady Vashj, servant of Illidan Stormrage, and was entrusted the protection of the Black Temple. His superior abilities allowed him to surround himself with deadly cold, and his spines and needles could inflict horrific wounds.

Design Philosophy: A multiclass hero that can switch between attacking at range or brawling in melee with a corresponding tradeoff of defenses and offenses. Najentus can switch between Myrmidon Stance where he uses his shelled arm as a shield and engages in melee or Impaler Stance where he attacks enemies at range by launching spines from his shelled arm.

Every 3rd attack strikes twice. Passively gains +10 armor.
Activate to switch to Impaler Stance.

Gains +3.5 attack range and 10% vision range but reduces maximum health by 30%.
Activate to switch to Myrmidon Stance.

After a 0.5 second delay, lunges forward and slashes all enemies in the target direction dealing 147 (+4%/level) damage.

Hurls a gush of water at a target dealing 184 (+4%/level) damage and slowing them by 60% decaying over 2 seconds.

Become protected and regenerate 2% of your maximum health per second for 3 seconds. While active, you cannot attack or use abilities.

Fires a needle spine in a target direction that deals 158 (+4%/level) damage to the first enemy hit and 82 (+4%/level) damage to nearby enemies.

Spits a blob of slime at a target that reduces healing received by 50% and damage by 25% for 5 seconds.

Launches a ball of Acid toward a target area that deals 115 (+4%/level) damage to enemies in a small area. Each subsequent hit to the same enemy increases the damage they take from acid mortar by 20% for 10 seconds.

Seismic Spines
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Slams the ground and after 1 second, giant spines erupt from the ground around Naj'entus dealing 218 (+4%/level) damage to enemies and impales them, rooting for 1 second. Naj'entus automatically switches to Myrmidon Stance after using the ability.

Upgrade: Bed of Spines

Leaves behind smaller spines that deal 50 (+4%/level) damage per second and slow enemies for 30% for 3 seconds.

Tidal Wave
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 80 seconds

Sends a powerful wave that pushes back enemies and deals 326 (+4%/level) damage. Naj'entus automatically switches to Impaler Stance after using the ability.

Upgrade: Brine Tide

Enemies are continually pushed back for 1.5 seconds and now deals 50% increased damage to enemies below 50% health.

After not taking damage for 3 seconds gain 30% movement speed that is lost upon entering combat or taking damage.

Talents

Level 1

Frost Spines (Quest): Attack enemy heroes while affected by Tidal Burst 30 times.
Reward: Ranged attacks now slow enemies by 20% and extend Tidal Burst's duration by 1 second.

Harden (Trait): Switching to Myrmidon Stance grants 2 charges of block that reduce physical damage by 50%.

Swipe Master (Quest) Hit enemy heroes with Horseshoe Swipe or Double Swipe 50 times.
Reward: Increases Horseshoe Swipe range and damage by 20% and Double Swipe now causes Naj'entus to lunge at his target.

Level 4

Resilience (W): Increases tidal shield duration by 0.5 seconds each time Naj'entus is stunned, rooted or silenced.

Vicious Spine (W): Increases needle spine's splash damage by 30% and increases the area of effect by 20%.

Acid Membrane (E): The acid mortar's projectile bounces once if it does not hit an enemy.

Coagulating Slime (E): Vile slime also reduces attack speed by 25%.

Level 7

Shell Smash (Trait): Switching to Impaler Stance increases attack speed by 30% for 4 seconds.

Ram (Q): Horsheshoe swipe now knocks back the first enemy hero it hits and stuns them for 1 second.

Bubble Burst (W): 50% of the damaged absorbed by tidal shield is dealt to nearby enemies when the shield expires.

Level 13

Double Back (Q): horseshoe swipe can be reactivated within 1.5 seconds to cause Naj'entus to jump backwards.

Ink Blast (Q): Tidal burst now blinds the target for 2 seconds.

Sludge Bomb (E): Vile slime now affects enemies in an area but cooldown is increased by 3 seconds.

Level 16

Water Spout (Q): Tidal Burst deals 75% increased damage at full health. This damage decreases down to zero at 75% health.

Iron Scale (W): Gain 30 armor for 3 seconds after tidal shield expires.

Impaling Spine (W): Needle spine roots the first target it hits for 2 seconds.

Acid Barrage (E): Acid mortar's mana cost and cooldown is refunded if it does not hit any enemies.

Level 20

Leech Spine (Trait): Ranged attacks gain 30% life steal, Melee attacks gain 15% life steal.

Lacerating Shell (Trait): Double swipe now deals 9% of an enemy's health in damage. Every 3rd ranged attack now deals 50% increased damage.
