Rogue Assassin

Background: Once an Assassin of the Viz-Jaq'taar, Natasya has had enough inaction through waiting for orders and decided to mete out justice and vengeance of her own accord. Skilled in martial arts and the rigging of sinister traps, no target can escape from the assassin's blades.

Concept Summary: Trying to capture the unique and fast paced gameplay introduced by the Assassin in Diablo II, the Assassin's concept is centered around combination attacks and delivering burst damage through a well placed finishing move that are supported with traps and shadow skills. A well played assassin balances damage with mobility and subtlety and knows when to commit or disengage early from a fight.

Combat Trait

Fists of Fire
Every basic attack generates a charge of fire that lasts for 4 seconds up to a maximum of three (3).
Charges are consumed when you use a finishing move and grants different effects depending on how many charges are consumed.

1 Charge - Releases a jet of flame that deals 150% of your basic attack damage in a cone in front of you.

2 Charges - Cause an explosion of fire that deals 200% of your basic attack damage in a wide area around the target of your finishing move.

3 Charges - Cause a fiery explosion that deals 250% of your basic attack damage in a wide area around the target and leave the ground burining with fire for 4 seconds that deals 55 (+4%/level) damage per second.

Claws of Thunder
Every basic attack generates a charge of thunder that lasts for 4 seconds up to a maximum of three (3).
Charges are consumed when you use a finishing move and grants different effects depending on how many charges are consumed.

1 Charge - Releases a bolt of lightning that deals 150% of your basic attack damage in a line in front of you.

2 Charges - Releases a bolt of chain lightning that deals 200% of your basic attack damage to your target and jumps to 5 nearby enemies and slows them by 25% for 3 seconds.

3 Charges - Release a nova of electricity around you that deals 250% of your basic attack damage and removes ability effects (positive or negative) from enemies that are hit and slows their movement speed by 80% decaying over 4 seconds. Each jump deals 10% less damage.

Cobra Strike
Every basic attack generates a charge of restoration that lasts for 4 seconds up to a maximum of three (3).
Charges are consumed when you use a finishing move and grants different effects depending on how many charges are consumed.

1 Charge - Deals an additional 150% of basic attack damage to the target and restores health equal to 50% of damage dealt and 5% of mana.

2 Charges - Deals an additional 200% of basic attack damage to the target and restores health equal to 100% of the total damage dealt and 10% of mana.

3 Charges - Deals an additional 250% of basic attack damage to the target and restores health equal to 100% of the total damage dealt and 15% of mana. You also steal health from nearby enemy heroes equal to 5% of their health and restores your health for the same amount.

Places a trap that sends out up to 5 waves of fire to enemies in range. Enemies hit by the fire waves take 103 (+4%/level) damage.

Cooldown: 20 seconds

(Usable when choosing Claws of Thunder talent)

Places a trap that shoots up to 10 bolts of lightning that damages enemies in a line. Deals 188 (+4%/level) damage.

Death Sentry
Ability Key: E

Cooldown: 20 seconds

(Usable when choosing Cobra Strike talent)

Places a trap that causes up to 5 enemy minions and mercenaries that are below 25% health to detonate that instantly kills it and deals 210 (+4%/level) damage to nearby enemies in a medium area around it. If the Assassin is near the trap they are also healed for 4% of their health and restores 2% of their mana with each detonation.

Secondary Abilities

Venom
Cooldown: 45 seconds

Causes your next basic attack or finishing move to poison the target, dealing 294 (+4%/level) damage over 4 seconds. Any existing damage over time effects (e.g. envenom, corruption, nature's toxin) immediately deal all remaining damage and are dispelled.

Blade Shield
Cooldown: 60 seconds

Gains a shield equal to 50% of your health for 10 seconds. Nearby enemies take damage per second equal to your basic attack damage.

Heroic Abilities

Shadow Warrior
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Summons a "shadow" of the Assassin to fight alongside her and has 75% of her health and deals 50% of her damage. The shadow can use all of her untalented basic abilities and follows the trait chosen by the assassin. The shadow can be ordered to focus on a target by using the ability key (R). The cooldown starts when the shadow warrior is killed. If the assassin dies, the shadow also dies.

Upgrade: Shadow Master

The shadow now deals 75% of the Assassin's damage and can use Cloak of Shadows. The spawned shadow also has a 50% chance when summoned to use another trait other than her master's chosen trait.

Cloak of Shadows
Ability Key: R
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Reduces the vision of nearby enemies to 1.5 range and disables shared vision with allies for 6 seconds and causes them to take 20% more damage for the first 3 seconds.

Upgrade: Fade

When Cloak of Shadows ends become transparent and reduce all damage taken by 50% for 3 seconds.

Talents

Tier 1

Fists of Fire (Trait) - Equips Cestus* on both fists and causes your basic attacks to generate a charge of fire for 4 seconds up to 3 charges. Gains access to the Wake of Fire trap**.

Claws of Lightning (Trait) - Equips Blade Talons* on both fists and causes your basic attacks to generate a charge of thunder for 4 seconds up to 3 charges. Gains access to the Lightning Sentry trap**.

Cobra Strike (Trait) - Equips Scissor Katars* on both fists and causes your basic attacks to generate a charge of restoration for 4 seconds up to 3 charges. Gains access to the Death Sentry trap**.

* Equipped weapons are only cosmetic changes used to identify the talent choice taken.

** Traps are untargetable but are destroyed by area damage abilities. All traps last 90 seconds.

Tier 2

Tiger Strike (Trait) - Increases the damage of Finishing Moves by 15% for each charge used up.

Weapon Block - Blocks a basic attack every 8 seconds negating all of its damage. If the enemy of the blocked attack is in melee range the negated damage is reflected back to them.

Dragon Flight (W) - Instantly travel toward the target but reduces the range of Dragon Talon by 20%.

Tier 3

Dragon Talons (W) - The target is kicked two (2) more times.

Dragon Tail (W) - The target is knocked back a short distance.

Booby Trap (E) - Traps become stealthed after 10 seconds of being idle.

Tier 4 (See Heroic Abilities)

Tier 5

Burst of Speed (Q) - Increases attack speed by 25% and movement speed by 50% decaying over 4 seconds after damaging an enemy.

Static Web (E) - Traps also shock nearby enemies dealing 23 (+4%/level) damage per second and slowing them by 25% for 2 seconds.

Venom (Active) - Causes the next basic attack or finishing move to envenom the enemy dealing 294 (+4%/level) damage over 4 seconds and immediately causes all existing damage over time effects on the target to deal the total remaining damage immediately.

Tier 6

Claw Mastery (Q) - Each strike deals 3% of a target's health.

Incapacitate (W) - Stuns the target for 1 second. If Dragon Tail was taken and the target hits a wall they will be stunned again for 1 second.

Trap Quiver (E) - Can store up to 2 charges of traps and traps gain 50% more ammunition (rounded up).

Tier 7

Shadow Master (See Heroic Abilities)

Phoenix Strike (Trait) - Each stack consumed gains a secondary bonus effect regardless of talent taken.

1 charge - Summons a meteor that drops after 1 second and deals 320 (+4%/level) damage and sets the ground ablaze dealing 55 (+4%/level) damage per second for 4 seconds.

2 Charges - Lightning arcs from the target to all nearby enemies dealing 198 (+4%/level) damage and removes ability effects from them.

3 Charges - Creates a frozen orb that flings icicles at nearby enemies rooting them for 1 second and then slows them by 30% for 3 seconds. Each icicle deals 150 (+4%/level) damage.

Blade Shield (Active) - Summons a shield of blades equal to 50% of your health and damage nearby enemies equal to your basic attack damage.
