Obsidian Destroyer

Approaching to bring mages into meta

This concept in in alpha, thus discussion and suggestion is highly encouraged

DESIGN

Moam was designed to empower and protec mage allies while also countering mage enemies.
The Obsidian Destroyer damage output is not as powerful as most mages but he is more tankish than any other mage. His abilities are meant to help him defend nearby mages and backline heroes, while empowering them. His initial burst is powerful but his damage output decays as the fight goes on, making his defensive abilities become more useful after the first wave os skills.

Combat Trait

Unstable Materia
Effect 1
Whenever Moam is hit by an ability either by enemy or ally, 20% of the mana used on that ability is regenerated as his own mana.

Effect 2
Each ability consumes extra 1% of total mana. For each point of mana consumed, increases damage by 1%.

Effect 3
Life < 25%: Turns into Statue Form
75% > Life > 25%: Turns into Normal Form
Life > 75%: Turns into Mana Form

- Statue Form: causes 25% less damage. Armor increased by 25

- Normal Form: no effect.

- Mana Form: Causes 25% extra damage. Armor -25.

Primary Abilities

Nether Tempest
Active
Enemy
Infuses targeted enemy with Nether Tempest, causing it to receive damage overtime and damage his nearby allies.
Ally
Infuses target ally with Nether Tempest, causing it to damage nearby enemies over time and increases ability power.

Affected hero can decrease duration of Nether Tempest by casting abilities.

Passive:
Receiving or casting abilities grants 1 Mana Charge.
Nether Tempest consumes all charges, increasing damage by x$ per charge consumed. Stacks up to X charges.

Major Arcane Explosion
Causes three explosions of magic around the caster dealing high damage around him.

Anti-Mana Blast
Struck enemy with a caotic energy causing a fixed amount of damage + extra damage per enemy point of acutal mana. If enemy do not use mana, consideres Moam's mana.

Secondary Abilities

Mana Shield
Toggle on/off to increase magic armor by 20 but consumes mana equal to 20% of damage received.

Heroic Abilities

Nullify
Level 10
Banishes enemies on area to another dimension for 2 seconds. Enemies banished are visible in ethereal form, they can move but are silenced, can't attack or be targeted. But can still be affected by AOE spells during this effect.
Additionally, Nullify removes all buffs from afflicted hero, including armor, ice block and similar.

Level 20
Nullify also removes 20 spell armor for duration and slows for 15%

Counterspell
Level 10
Activate to become imune to the first ability that hits Moam and recast it at caster. Range is global. AOE spells have it's center on original caster. Projectiles travels from Moam to target. Cast time and effects are the same as for the caster. Lasts 1.0 second.

Level 20
After casting Counterspell, Moam's magical defense is increased by 25 for 3 seconds.

Stabilize Mana
Level 20
Passive: Mana form is active while above 50% HP and no longer as armor penalty but also requires mana to be above 50%.

Active: Activate to cause spells to cost extra 100% mana and cause extra 75% damage for 4 seconds.

Nether Afinity
Nether Tempest also affects Moam. Maximum Mana Charges is increased by 2.

Special Mount

Black Winds
Active: Press Z to jump a short distance forward. CD 40s
Passive: Moves 15% faster.
Can't mount.

Talents

Level 1
- Hunger: Unstable Materia consumes 2% of actual mana
- Thirst: Moam regenerates 30% of spell's mana
- Concentration: While in Mana Form, mana regeneration is increased
- Mania: Black Winds mov. bonus is increased by 50% after 10 seconds of non-combat time or at hall of storms

Level 4
- Mana Shell: Mana shield consumes 10% less mana
- Control: Major Arcane Explosion explode only once but has 3 charges
- Extra Charge: Anti-Mana Blast generates 2 extra mana charges
- Loud Tempest: Nether Tempest also silences enemies for 1 second

Level 7
- Unstable Form: Activate to swap form for 3 seconds. Can swap form Mana to Statue and vice-versa. Can't be used while Normal Mode.
- Overload: Major Arcane Explosion area is increased
- Lighting: Nether Tempest grants allies mov. speed
- Desestabilize: Anti-Mana Blast reduces spell armor by 10.

Level 13

- Improved Mana Shield: Mana shield is larger and applies in area close to Moam, protecing allies inside it.
- Arcane Implosion: Major Arcane Explosion draws enemies closer to Moam.
- Force Explosion: Major Arcane Explosion pushes enemies.
- Improved Anti-mana: Anti-Mana Blast deals extra damage per enemies point of mana.
- Nether Storm: Nether Tempest area of effect and duration are increased.

Level 16
- Null Dimension: Activate to send an ally into the Null Dimension, being unnable to be targeted or target. Can still use spells and can still be affected by AOE damage. Can pass through units and walls. Lasts 3 seconds.
- Null field: Activate to create a null area around Moam, slowing and silencing enemies inside it.
- Null Shield: Mana shield now also applies against basic attacks

a storm upgrade for counterspell: after reflecting an ability, you have 100 spell armor against his abilities for 2 seconds

Good hero overall,
the trait is kinda cho'gall like (with armor and spell damage increase and reduce)
Q: O.K, feels like Kealt'has' living bomb and Ragnaros' blast wave combined but affects on spell power and not on moving speed
W: Is this around Moam? or a target of choice? feels, again, like Kealt'has' living bomb or like Probios' warp rift.
E: Damage based on mana usage, but I feel that most mages in team fights have low mana or medium in percentage to their max, maybe switch that?
R1: What does it do? make them stasis? silenceing them? tell me and I will answer this
R2: Nice, feels like Genji's deflect but in abilities only and copy them into the coster, nice!

I really appreciate your time and opinion!
D: it's indeed similar to Cho'galls! The difference here is that Cho'Gall can chose when to switch while Moam can't. Also, his is very dependant on mana and can recover it from receiving attacks, so he must manage it, trading damage and health for mana somtimes.
W: is around Moam. It is designed so he will stay close to backline allies and body block to protect them, so this ability has a more defensive utility. While moam has more defense than other mages, he is still a mage and can die easily, so he won't be diving to use it but if anyone reach him he will go "best defense is a good attack".
E: I'm really not sure about this one, I wanted to interact with enemies mana somehow but don't wanna touch the "mana burn" mechanic. I'm thinking about different possibilities to do that, any idea is appreciated :D

R2: While genji benefits from fast attacks, this one benefits from a single powerful attack, like Hinterland Blast or PyroBlast.
