Rexxar

Beastmaster of the Mok'nathal

Combat Trait

1
Animal Companion
Rexxar is accompanied by his faithful bear companion, Misha. Misha takes 10% less damage from all sources. Activate on the ground to command Misha to move to the targeted location. Activate on an enemy to command Misha to attack. Misha cannot move more than a short distance away from Rexxar, and follows him automatically when not under orders.

Primary Abilities

1
Fang and Claw
Rexxar throws his axes and Misha swipes her claws, each doing moderate damage in a cone. Rexxar's cone is long and narrow, Misha's is short and wide.
2
Blood Bond
Transfer health from Rexxar to Misha, or vice-versa, in order to equalize them. If Misha is dead, spend 1/2 of Rexxar's current health to resurrect Misha with health equal to health spent to resurrect.
3
Kill Command
Rexxar commands Misha to charge an enemy, doing damage and stunning them for 0.25 seconds. Rexxar gains additional move speed and attack speed for a short duration. If Misha is dead, double this bonus.

Heroic Abilities

1
Stampede!
Rexxar summons his animal companions Huffer, Leokk, and Spirit to aid him in battle for a short duration.
2
Spirit Beast
(Passive skill) Misha permanently becomes a Spirit Beast, slowing enemies hit by her attacks and abilities, and providing a moderate health and mana regeneration aura to all allies around her.

Special Mount

1
Mount
Rexxar rides Misha when mounted. If Misha is dead, Rexxar instead sprints for a short time.

Attack Range

Rexxar auto-attacks by throwing his axes, making him a short-ranged hero
(Think similar range to Baelog's auto-attack)

Skill Descriptions

Trait (Misha): The core concept. Both Rexxar and Misha have maybe 75% of the health pool you might expect from a warrior (they both have equal amounts of health,) but Misha's thick skin offsets that, making her the primary tank rather than Rexxar himself. Misha isn't controlled like "second hero" in the vein of the Vikings, but by default follows Rexxar around with AI similar to Nazeebo's level 20 Gargantuan, only with more control. Also, because Rexxar is low on CC, he could potentially use the extra body to CC by body-blocking rather than by stuns or slows.

Fang and Claw: Simple AoE damage ability. Both abilities are in a cone shape, and Rexxar and Misha simultaneously attack towards your mouse, similar to Jaina's level 20 Water Elemental when casting Cone of Cold, so you want to be close enough to overlap for best results. Teamwork! Could be talented to give additional effects when both attacks hit the same target, like slows, "bleed" DoTs, or even a permanent stacking buff.

Blood Bond: Your primary way of tanking damage, by keeping either of you from being focused down. Together, you have a big health pool, but you're weak individually, so this will be your most important ability if timed right. Could be talented to give some health regen on activation as well. Also, it should be obvious right now that killing Misha is Rexxar's primary weakness, so he's going to want to get out of fights ASAP until he can safely resurrect her and regen HP.

Kill Command:  Just what it says on the tin, a mobility/initiation tool to get Misha into the fight and an important disruption that's critical on warriors nowadays. Rexxar gets a boost too, to help position and burst down enemies, as well as keeping it from being a useless skill if Misha's down.

Stampede!: Rexxar's ult in WC3 doesn't really translate to warrior gameplay in Heroes, (or his character, let's be honest) so I took the idea and combined it with a popular Hunter ability that fit well with Rexxar. Gameplay wise, it would be a lot like Arthas's ult, minus the healing, with fewer, bigger bodies and more utility and damage. Huffer charges and mini-stuns, Leokk dps's with ranged DoT attacks, Spirit flies, has melee attacks, and grants vision, like T***'s oracle. Haratha's ghost could come in at level 20 with heals, slows, additional damage, whatever.

Spirit Beast: If anyone has played a Beastmaster in WoW, taming your first Spirit Beast is a very memorable experience, and I thought it would make a great choice in place of an ultimate, even if it stretches Rexxar's lore a bit. It's a little hard to balance a passive ult without it becoming very strong (just look at the stats on Gazlowe's Robo-Goblin,) but I don't want it to be so powerful that it has to be a timed effect with cooldown, mostly for flavor's sake. Level 20 could give additional damage resistance to Misha, improve her regen aura, or even make her stealthed when not in combat.
