Sally Whitemane

High Inquisitor

This is my attempt to design a Discipline Priest from the cataclysm era, with some additions from the entirety of WoW that I played. Although I chose Sally Whitemane to be this priest, this is not set in stone, because I designed this hero before even thing about who would fulfill the role. I think she is a good choice, but if you disagree feel free to voice your opinion in the comments. I did not pick Anduin because i think he should be a Holy Priest with chakras and things like that.

My first objective with this concept was to create a support that had a similar playstyle to the Cataclysm Discipline Priest. This proved difficult because disc had two different playstyles back then and it meant my first idea for a Trait fell through because only one playstyle utilized the ability. It also didn't really work with the playstyle I had in mind and it felt pretty boring. I then decided to move Archangel from one of my Ultimates to my Trait with Evangelism being its interaction with the rest of the kit.

The three basic abilities was pretty easy to choose since I decided to leave Psychic Scream for another hero, and Holy Fire just felt like the perfect ability to slot with the two mandatory abilities.

To replace the ultimate i took for a trait I chose Power Infusion and paired it with Power Word: Barrier. Both of these abilities are iconic to the Cataclysm priest and both of them fits well with the playstyle I have developed.

The last ability I chose is Leap of Faith as the mount ability. Although not having access to a mount is a huge disability, the ability to save people every 20 seconds is incredibly strong and I think it should balance it out. Also Priests never were the most mobile of classes so I think it fits.

Many of the talents and interaction that I envisioned here is probably incredibly overpowered and I have to admit that I didn't even think about balance when coming up with this concept. Everything I put in this concept are things I would love to see in a hero. Hope you enjoy.

Combat Trait

1
Archangel
Every time you deal damage to an enemy with a basic ability, you gain one stack of [Evangelism]. At 5 stacks, consume them to turn into an [Archangel].

[Evangelism]: Each stack increases the the damage of [Holy Fire] and [Penance] by [5%] up to [25%].

[Archangel]: Transform into an Archangel, increasing all healing by [50%] and reduces the cooldown of [Power Word: Shield] to 1 second.

Primary Abilities

1
Penance
[Channeled][6 second cooldown]

Launches a volley of holy light at the target, each volley dealing [140+4%pLevel] damage to an enemy, or [280+4%pLevel] healing to an ally instantly and every 1 second over 2 seconds.

Penance grants 1 stack of [Evangelism] every time it deals damage.

Three ball of light thrust to your ally or enemy. The first ball leaves instantly, the second and third follow after a second each. Moving cancels the ability. I think one second between each ball might be too much since you are basically rooting yourself, but changing it might make the hero too strong
2
Holy Fire
[Skillshot][12 second cooldown]

Engulfs an enemy in Holy fire, dealing [200+4%pLevel] damage and [200+4%pLevel] damage over 6 seconds.

Skillshot is in a straight line, and deals damage to the first enemy hit. The ability line should look like Varian Q, but instead of hitting all enemies it only hits the first one.
3
Power Word: Shield
[Targeted][4 second cooldown]

Shield a target, absorbing [400+4%pLevel] damage for 6 seconds. and causing the weakened aura debuff.

[Weakened Aura]: [Power Word: Shield] cannot be used on this target. Last 6 seconds.

This ability is similar to Tassadar shield(without the life steal), however it cannot be used on the same target as easily because of weakened soul. Many talents work with this mechanic to turn the ability into something unique.

Heroic Abilities

1
Power Word: Barrier
[Instant][40 second cooldown]

Extend a large barrier protecting allies in the area. All allies gain [50] Armor while in the area. lasts [8] seconds.

Pressing this ability throws a large barrier on the ground around the caster. The size of the barrier is twice the size of Void Prison.
2
Power Infusion
[Activate][30 second cooldown]

Reduces all ability cooldowns by [50%] for [10] seconds and increase the damage gain from [Evangelism] by another [5%]. Also increases mana regeneration by [100%] for the duration.

Self buff that increases both your healing and damage. The mana regeneration is to alleviate the extra ability usage.

Special Mount

1
Leap of Faith
[Targeted][20 second cooldown]

Pulls a target ally to you, increasing both you and your allies' movement speed by [20%] for [3] seconds.

This works similar to Helping Hand from Stitches and can be used to get allies out of sticky situations (or to tilt them, whatever floats your boat). When rooted or stunned targets are gripped they still gain the movement speed even if they're not pulled toward you.

Talents

Level 1

[Quest][Holy Nova] Kill enemies to increase the initial damage of Holy Fire. At [25] stacks, reduce the cooldown of Holy Fire and using Holy Fire unleashes an area of effect around the target that heals allies and damage enemies.
I know Holy Nova in WoW happens around you, but it seemed wrong while imagining it, so this is the idea I stuck with. Although I want the hero to have Holy Nova, I didn't want the ability on an extra button because it doesn't really do enough to warrant that.

[Quest][Mental Agility] Gather regeneration globes to increase mana regeneration. After collecting [40] regeneration globes reduce the mana cost of Power Word: Shield.
Sustain talent for the bubble spammers out there.

[Inner Fire] Each stack of Evangelism grants [10] physical armor.
Good talent to protect against diving heroes since I think this hero will have trouble dealing with them.

[Leap of Intervention] Using Leap of Faith on an ally now pulls you to the target, instead of pulling the target to you.
Get out of jail card for the overextending Priest. (Tilt your enemies instead!)

Level 4

[Quest][Attonement] Damage enemy Heroes with Penance to increase its damage. After damaging an enemy with Penance [20] times, both Penance and Holy Fire heal a nearby ally for [50%] of the damage done.
Turns the Priest into one version of the Cataclysm (and MoP) Priest. I imagine it should be very strong with a melee hyper carry (Illidan) especially if you take the Leap talent at 1. Should also be a great 2nd support with shielding and off healing while focussing on damage.

[Quest][Strength of Soul] Heal allies with Penance while weakened soul debuff is on them to increase the healing of Penance. After healing [20] weakened allies the range of Penance is increased by [20%] and now each volley reduces the debuff duration by [2] seconds.
The other version of the Cataclysm (and WotLK) Priest. This talent allows for some serious single target healing with great sustain on other allies. Imagine Tassadar shield with Uther Holy Light! Crazy stuff, however the drawback of not being able to cast Penance while moving is a big one.

I imagine these talents will be pretty difficult to balance (Varian) but I have the utmost faith in Blizzards' balancing capabilities.

Level 7

[Power word: Fortitude] When you use Power Word: Shield on a target, their health is also increased by [10%]
Good 'ol Power Word: Fortitude. Should be pretty good with tanks (without Tychus of course).

[Active][Dispel] Remove a beneficial effect from a target enemy or a negative effect from an ally.
I would honestly love it if blizzard could just rework cleanse and give each support an interesting version of it. This would be my take on such an ability. Basically the ability can be used to remove things such as shields, temporary armor effects, attack and movement speed buffs on enemies (probably not heroics such as stim drone or Bloodlust) or stuns, roots, snares, silences etc. from allies. This ability should be amazing for both saving allies and killing enemies while at the same time difficult to use because of its cooldown. The cooldown should be lower than cleanse though.

[Cleansing Leap] Leap of Faith removes stuns and roots from your ally.
Another take on this whole cleanse debacle. If you take the level 1 talent the cleanse still happens on you ally, making it similar to the Kharazim 16 talent.

Level 13

[Divine Aegis] Using Penance on an ally while Power Word: Shield is active increases the size of the Shield and its duration, up to [50%] and [16] seconds.
This talent should be amazing if you know a big battle is coming and you can increase the size of the shield on an ally to ensure that no matter what they do to your ally, you should be able to save him/her/it.

[Surge of Light] Every basic attack reduces the cooldown of Holy Fire by [1] second.
I looked at the talent from WoW but i don't think there is another way it can be implemented without giving the Priest Flash Heal, something I don't want to do. This talent should be good with a more aggressive playstyle, since Holy Fire can get pretty strong with talents, making the Priest pretty bursty.

[Angelic Might] Evangelism also increases healing done with your basic abilities by [5%] per stack.
This Priest will have peaks and troughs in terms of healing i.e. low healing potential without Archangel up. This will alleviate that and increase you sustain healing.

[Reflective Shield] 75% of the damage done to a shielded target is reflected back to the target.
Very old Priest talent that was never really taken, but it fits with the theme and it should be pretty strong since the most dangerous assassins are very squishy.

Level 16

[Furious Angel] Archangel increases your ability damage [50%], but it no longer increases healing.
If you think I'm bad at coming up with my own names for talents, you'd be right. This talent turns the Priest into a burst mage, allowing her to do a very large amount of burst with Archangel up. Pretty good when you draft a double support and realize later in the game that you lack kill potential. This talent comes late into the game for this reason. If you think this talent comes too late into the game to make the damage build viable then you should remember that this hero is not a multi class. It is a support that have supporting talents and support involves supporting your allies where they need that support. Sometimes the support needed is extra damage. Support.

[Active][Inner Focus] Increase the power of your next basic ability by [100%] and reducing its mana cost by [100%]. Using the ability does not incur its cooldown.
Iconic Priest ability. I decided to also let it remove the cooldown because it sounded a bit weak if the ability still had a cooldown.

[Body and Soul] Increase the movement speed of targets of Power Word: Shield by [30%]
Another iconic priest ability though it is technically a Holy Priest ability (until MoP). This talent combined with Leap of Faith should allow you and your allies to be pretty mobile. I don't know if this talent might come too late into the game, but I will keep it here just because I think it is incredibly strong.

Level 20

[Pain Suppression] Use on an ally or yourself the give them [75] Armor for [3] seconds.
Back in Tbc Disc Priest was the only healing class with a tanking cooldown. This is basically a targeted Hardened Shield(Ignore pain).

[Borrowed Time] Basic ability cooldowns are reduced by 100% for the duration of Power Infusion.
This allows you to spam healing and shielding around and turn into a late game monster if you desire.

[Power Word: Aura] Power Word: Barrier moves with you.
Again with naming my own talents. This works similar to tranquility with an area around you where allies take less damage. This should be very usefull late game where things like rushing the core becomes a win condition.

[Active][Void Shift] You and the targeted ally swap health percentages. Increase the lower of the two to [25%]
This is an active ability that alllows you to swap your health and the health of your ally, with a 25% cushion to prevent you from killing yourself. Pretty powerful and also good for sacrificing your teammates for your own survival. (one last tilt before the game ends)
