Soldier: 76

Overwatch Strike Commander

Once the commander of the elite peacekeeping team Overwatch, Jack Morrison was injured after an explosion at the Overwatch headquarters. In the aftermath, Overwatch was disbanded due to corruption in the ranks.

Presumed dead, Jack took on a new Alias - Soldier: 76 - to determine what caused Overwatch to fall from grace, and bring those responsible to Justice.

Combat Trait

1
Accuracy
Passive: Your maximum range is increased by 2. In addition, attacking 4 times in a row causes your attacks to start losing accuracy at a rate of 3% per shot. Accuracy loss builds up twice as quick on enemies further than 5.5 range away. Your Auto-Attack damage is reduced by your accuracy penalty.

The Accuracy Penalty is removed when you reload or after 0.5 seconds without shooting.

Active: Activate to reload your magazine, allowing you to continue firing. Takes 0.75 seconds.

Non-specified: You can move while reloading. See the section below for a more detailed explanation on how Accuracy is built up, and how it affects your basic attacks

Primary Abilities

1
[Q] - Helix Rockets
Cooldown: 8 seconds

Shoots a trio of rockets directly in front of you. Upon impacting an enemy, deal 196 damage (+4%/Level) in a small area around them.

Non-specified: The Rocket will fly a maximum of 11 range, and the explosion radius is 1.0
2
[W] - Rifle Strike
Cooldown: 1 second

Strike the target enemy with your rifle, dealing 172 damage (+4%/Level) to it.

Non-specified: The ability is melee range, and has a 0.1 second windup and 0.4 second wind-down time. You can not attack or use abilities during this time period, making this ability ideal for resetting the accuracy penalty, as by itself the ability is weaker than just shooting your opponent with auto-attacks at full accuracy.
3
[E] - Biotic Field
Cooldown: 15 seconds

Places a Biotic Field on the ground, increasing the Health Regeneration rate of nearby allied heroes by 2% of their max health per second. Lasts 5 seconds.

Non-specified: The radius of the field is 3.5

Heroic Abilities

1
[R] - Tactical Visor
Resource Cost: 100% Ultimate Charge

While active, your attacks are no longer reduced by your accuracy penalty and will not build up an accuracy penalty. In addition, your reload time is reduced by 50%. Lasts 7 seconds.

Non-specified: Available from level 1.

Methods for building charge:

Dealing 100 (+4%/level) damage to a hero builds 1% charge, regardless of the attack or ability that dealt the damage.
Dealing 200 (+4%/level) damage to a non-hero builds 1% charge, regardless of the attack or ability that dealt the damage.
Restoring 50hp (+4%/level) to any friendly hero, including yourself, builds 1% charge.

In addition, you passively generate 1% ultimate charge every 10 seconds.

Special Mount

1
Sprint
Cooldown: 4 Seconds

Activate to increase your movement speed by 20% while increasing your accuracy penalty by 25%. If you stop moving, attack, or use an ability, sprint is disabled. The accuracy penalty lasts until 1 second after sprint is disabled.

Sprint stacks with move speed bonuses provided from other heroes.

Base Stats

Soldier 76 uses the ammunition resource instead of mana, which uses 1 ammunition every time you attack. This is reloaded by using your trait, which takes 0.75 seconds.

Base Stats:

HP
1451 (+4%/Level)

HP Regen
3.02 (+4%/Level)

Ammunition
25

Attack Damage
49

Attack Speed

Talent Tree

Level 1:

Double Helix (Q): Increases the cooldown of Helix Rockets by 2 seconds. You can now hold 2 charges of Helix Rockets.
Rocket Barrage (Q): If Helix Rockets directly impacts an enemy hero, reduce its cooldown by 2 seconds.
Danger Close (Q): Quest: Deal damage to Heroes with Helix Rockets to increase the damage dealt by 5, up to a maximum of 100 bonus damage.

After hitting 20 heroes, increase the radius of the explosion of Helix Rockets by 50%.

Level 4:

Headshot (Active): Dealing damage to heroes at 100% accuracy does 25% more damage. Having this active disables Leg Shot.
Burst Control (D): The accuracy penalty starts building up after the sixth attack instead of the fourth and builds 33% slower.
Run and Gun (Z): Sprint no longer has an accuracy penalty.

Level 7:

Biotic Amplification (E): Biotic Field affects a 30% larger area, and lasts 50% longer
Restorative Nanites (E): Biotic Field restores 300% more health to you.
Leeching Rounds (D): You are healed for 20% of the damage dealt by basic attacks

Level 10:

Long-Range Visor (R): Tactical Visor lasts 3 more seconds, and provides +1 range while active.
Fast-Charge Visor (R): Tactical Visor builds charge 50% faster.
Early-Activation Visor (R): Tactical Visor can be activated early, and drains charge at a rate of 15%/second. You can not build charge while Tactical Visor is active.

Level 13:

Hit and Run (W): Using Rifle Strike grants 30% movement speed for 2 seconds.
On the Move (Active): Activate to allow you to attack while moving. While active, you have a 25% accuracy penalty.
Battlefield Training (Z): Increases the movement speed bonus of Sprint by 10% to 30%.

Level 16:

Crippling Rockets (Q): Helix Rockets now apply a 30% slow to all enemies hit for 3 seconds.
Battering Ram (W): Using Rifle Strike while sprinting will root the target for 0.5 seconds, and then apply a 20% slow for 1 second.
Leg Shot (Active): While at 100% accuracy, Basic Attacks reduce the targets move speed by 20% for 1 second. Having this active disables Headshot.

Level 20:

Target Rich Environment (R): Getting a kill during Tactical Visor resets the duration
Unstoppable Assault (R): While Tactical Visor is active, you are immune to Crowd Control effects.
Close Quarters Combat (D): Attacking an enemy within range 3.5 no longer respects the accuracy penalty, and does not build it up.
Spray and Pray (D): 50% of the damage lost from the accuracy penalty is applied to all nearby enemies.

Explaining Accuracy (In detail)

Similar to Valla, ETC, and other heroes with a trait or ability affecting their basic attacks, Soldier: 76 will have an indicator above his health bar to show how much accuracy he has.

Baseline, it will show 100% accuracy under a picture of a crosshair.

Once the 4th attack is fired, each attack afterwards will reduce the value of accuracy by 3%, unless it is on a target further than the standard range of a ranged hero (5.5), in which case it will reduce the value by 6%. If you took Burst Control at level 4, this starts after the sixth attack instead of the fourth, and builds at 2%/shot (close range) or 4%/shot (long range). Additionally, having Tactical Visor up will set the Accuracy value to 100% regardless of how much shooting is done.

After not shooting for 0.5 seconds, the accuracy value will return to 100%.

Whenever you do damage with a basic attack, the normal value of a basic attack will be multiplied by your current accuracy value, and that will be the damage dealt.

E.g., at level 10, Soldier: 76 will have 73 damage/attack. If he attacks at 100% accuracy, it will be 73 damage (or, if Headshot is active, 91 damage). But if he attacks at 65% accuracy, he will do 47 damage/attack, and the damage will go down as he continues shooting without a break.
