Stitches: The Rework

The Terror of Darkshire

Stitches is one of my favorite character concepts, and one of the characters I was hoping to main when I joined Heroes of the Storm. Sadly, Stitches hasn't been getting much love as of late; so I have some talent suggestions and thoughts to present here.

First I'll talk about the concept of the character Stitches as I see him. His mechanics are strongly focused on moving enemies, and his style focuses on his love of putting things into his belly. As such, the majority of his talents should play more off his abilities than they currently are.

Now for the long stuff. I'll be talking about each ability, trait, and changes I think will benefit his play style. I will be referencing a number of talents in the game as things to build on, but that of course more original idea can persist. Also, don't think any of the math in this is finalized or even accurate. Without access to the massive Blizzard spreadsheets I'm just ball-parking it.

Combat Trait

1
Vile Gas
Stitches deals 10 (+2 per level) damage per second to nearby enemies. When damaged, Stitches emits a cloud of poisonous gas that persists for 5 seconds. Enemies in a gas cloud are poisoned for 15 (+3 per level) damage per second over 5 second.

Primary Abilities

1
Hook
Throw out a hook. If the hook hits an enemy Hero, it deals 50 (+10 per level) damage and that Hero is pulled back towards you a distance equal to 75% of the thrown distance. If the hook hits any other Enemy or Mercenary it deals three times that damage but they are not pulled toward you.
2
Meat Cleaver
Deal 66 (+6 per level) damage to enemies within the target area. Reduces the cooldown of Devour by 1 second for every enemy hit.
3
Devour
Deal 100% damage to enemy Minions or 100 (+10 per level) damage to enemy Heroes and Mercenaries. Restores 10% of your maximum Health.

Heroic Abilities

1
Putrid Bile
After a 1 seconds channel, Stitches emits a massive amount of bile that deals 5 (+5 per level) damage per second to enemies within, slowing them by 40%. Enemy Minions, Mercenaries, and Towers within the Bile are stunned. Bile persists for 10 seconds.
2
Gorge
Consume an enemy Hero, trapping them for 5 seconds. When Gorge ends, the enemy Hero takes 125 (+25 per level) damage. The trapped Hero cannot move or act and doesn't take damage from other sources. Stitches' Movement Speed is reduced by 15% while an enemy is Gorged.

The New Putrid Bile

This one is going to be a big change. In terms of style, mechanic, and appearance in game. Currently this is a most used as an escape for Stitches; not a good one at that either as it is easy to avoid. And seriously, who wants to use their heroic for running. So here is the change.

Less damage, and a loss of speed increases, but when I say massive, I mean massive. Think March of the Murlocs but a giant column of vomit instead of cute Murlocs. This talent can be used to escape, attack, slow down the entire enemy team, siege an enemy fortress, or just lock down a lane. The width of the column should be about 80-90% of a lanes width, and 50% of the lanes mid length.

The most disgusting, yet incredibly Stitches, ability ever.

Talent Concepts

With the general buffing this remake of Stitches will give, we will also be able to play with more talent builds as every ability now has a usefulness about it. These are in no particular order, and I'm including a level listing just as an idea of were they can be in the progression of the game.

-Level 1-
Tenderizer
Any enemy killed by Meat Cleaver will reduce the cooldown of Devour by 1 second. Enemy Hero kills from Meat Cleaver with reduce the cooldown by 3 seconds.

A Bigger Cleaver
Range and arc of Meat Cleaver increased by 25%.

Trick Shot
If Hook hits an enemy Minion, it will continue to travel and hit additional enemy minions until it runs out of distance or hits an enemy hero or mercenary. If it hits a Hero or Mercenary in this fashion, they are stunned for 2 seconds and not pulled towards Stitches.

-Level 4-
Indigestion
After killing an enemy with Devour, increase the damage of Vile Gas by 75% for 2 seconds.

Mulligan
If Hook hits no target, recast it again for no mana cost within 5 seconds.

-Level 7-
Toxic Gas
Increase Vile Gas radius by 25%.

Last Bite
If Devour kills and enemy Hero or Mercenary, the cooldown is reduced by 15 seconds.

That Nasty
Enemies poisoned by Vile Gas will have their speed decreased by 5%. This can stack up to 50%.

-Level 13-
Don't Eat That
Attacking anything with Devour decreases the cooldown of Stitches Heroic Ability by 5 seconds.

Bitting Hard
Attacking an enemy Hero or Mercenary with Devour does 100% more damage.

Pulverize
Meat Cleaver now slows enemies by 50% for one seconds and reduces its cooldown by 2 seconds.

-Level 16-
Fishing Hook
Hook has an additional 50% range.

Stress Eating
Devour now restores 20% of your maximum health.

Reel Um In
Hook now pulls 100% of the distance.

-Level 20-
Out Both Ends
Putrid Bile last 5 seconds longer and increases the damage of Vile Gas by 300% for the duration.

Hungry Hungry Stitches
Stitches can now Gourge targets that are Invulnerable or Unstoppable. While active, Gorge can be repeatedly recast until the first target is expelled.
