"It's better to argue with a stone then a Zerg."

Talis was a female Khalai and member of the Templar caste. During the Second Great War, she became a Praetorof the Daelaam. One of her missions led her to a Moebius Foundation facility, as she was seeking to rescue templars that had been abducted by the Tal'Darim. On this mission, she had help from Zeratul. 
Returning the favor, she and her forces broke through the Tal'Darim's defence of an old XelNaga Temple on the planet of Atrias and held the position against retaliating Tal'Darim forces while Zeratul entered the temple to discover the last part of the prophecy which he believed would guide the way to defeat Amon. 

Amon however collapsed the temple and ordered an onslaught of Tal'Darim and Hybrids against Talis forces, trying to stop Zeratul before he could bring the crucial information he had gathered to the right ears. Talis and her troops covered Zeratul's escape, supposedly sacrificing themselves. During the last minutes of the temple, however, Amon's void energies  happened to open a portal to another dimension. Taking her only chance, Talis led her warriors through the portal and found herself in the Nexus. 

In game, just like the Adept Unit she is based on, Talis deals bonus damage to "light" units --> minions and heroes with low max HP.
Against high HP targets, her AA damage is shamefully low for an assassin, but she deals impressive damage to her "target audience".
