Over 10 000 years ago, the night elves of Suramar lived in harmony. After Queen Azshara's ruthless act for more power, the burning legion entered Azeroth and destruction soon followed. In a desperate attempt to save Suramar, the highbornes casted a spell that created a barrier to surround Suramar City. It worked, however, the night elves slowly changed due to the lack of sun and moon light. They now relied on the power of the Night Well. After Gul'dan threatened the destruction of Suramar, Elisande agreed to take the barriers down if she was given power from Gul'dan. Thalyssra disagreed and rebelled against Elisande. She was exiled from Suramar and became a nightfallen; lacking the mana she needed. After countless wars against the corrupted forces in Suramar, Thalyssra successfully won over her city. Now, the proud nightbornes are led by Thalyssra and are ready to let Azeroth know that they are back and more proud than ever.
