Supreme Commander of the Argent Crusade

Tirion Fordring is a Legion-style Retribution Paladin, filling the role of a Melee Assassin with some more Bruiser-esque tendencies. Starting off relatively simple to play, Tirion's true power comes in the utility his talents provide.

Generating Holy Power grants Tirion 5 Armor per Holy Power generated for 3 seconds. The duration is refreshed every time Tirion generates Holy Power. Spending Holy Power heals Tirion for 80 health per Holy Power spent.

In addition to Mana, Tirion utilizes Holy Power, generated through abilities to empower his casts of Templar's Verdict(and later also possibly Wake of Ashes).

Primary Abilities

Active; Generate Justice
Tirion quickly strikes an enemy in melee range for 220 damage. This ability resets Tirion's auto attack timer.

Cooldown - 5 seconds.
Cost - 35 Mana.
Generates - 2 Holy Power.

[1] - [Q] - Zeal
Level 1 Talent; Active; Bouncing Justice
Empowered Crusader Strike. Tirion strikes an enemy in melee range for 240 damage, and granting Tirion a stack of Zeal, up to 3. Stacks of Zeal cause Zeal to arc to nearby enemies within range 5, prioritizing enemy Heroes, dealing 100% damage to that target. Stacks of Zeal fade after 10 seconds of not being gained. This ability resets Tirion's auto attack timer.

Talents that specify they affect Crusader Strike affect Zeal.

Charges - 2.
Cooldown - 5 seconds.
Cost - 35 Mana.
Generates - 1 Holy Power, plus an additional 1 Holy Power for every Enemy Hero hit besides the Primary target.

Level 1 Talent; Active; Generate Justice, but Ranged!
Empowered Crusader Strike. Tirion calls upon a Blade of Justice, striking an enemy in range for 240 damage. This ability resets Tirion's auto attack timer.

Talents that specify they affect Crusader Strike affect Blade of Justice.

Cooldown - 5 seconds.
Cost - 35 Mana.

Level 1 Talent; Active; Smites For Justice
Empowered Crusader Strike. Tirion smites an enemy in melee range, dealing 220 plus 5% of the target's maximum health in damage. This ability resets Tirion's auto attack timer.

Talents that specify they affect Crusader Strike affect Lawbringer.

Cooldown - 5 seconds.
Cost - 35 Mana.
Generates - 2 Holy Power.

Active; if only Uther hadn't stolen Divine Storm
Tirion calls down a divine hammer to target area, which lands after a 0.6 second delay. It deals 200 damage to all enemies hit, and additionally stuns all targets hit for 0.5 seconds if it generates at least 3 Holy Power.

Cast Range - 5.
Area - 2.
Cooldown - 7 seconds.
Cost - 50 Mana.
Generates - 1 Holy Power per Enemy Hero hit.

[E] - Templar's Verdict
Active; Spend Justice
Tirion consumes all stored Holy Power, striking a nearby enemy for 70 damage per Holy Power consumed, and slowing them by 5% per Holy Power consumed. The slow lasts for 1.5 seconds.

Cast Range - 2.5.
Cooldown - 4 seconds.
Cost - 30 Mana. 1-5 Holy Power.

Tirion spends all stored Holy Power, healing himself for 120 Health per Holy Power spent.

[20] - [2] - Shield of Vengeance
Level 20 Talent; Active; Anti-Focus the Button
Tirion gains a shield for 50% of his Maximum Health for 3 seconds. Upon expiring or being broken, all damage dealt by enemies to the shield is dealt divided equally between all enemies within range 5.5.

Cooldown - 60 seconds.

Level 20 Talent; Active; Get Focused the Button
Tirion gains 5% increased damage and 10% increased Cooldown tick speed for 8 seconds. These bonuses are increased by their base amount every time Tirion casts an ability.

Active; Suddenly, Tank
Tirion sweeps Ashbringer in target direction, dealing 300 damage plus 10% more per Holy Power consumed to all enemies in a cone, slowing all enemies hit in this way by 40% for 3 seconds. If cast at 5 Holy Power, instead stuns them for 1 second before slowing them by 40% for 2 seconds.

Cone Range - 70°. 4.5(length).
Cooldown - 80 seconds.
Cost - 80 Mana. 0-5 Holy Power.
Generates - 1 Holy Power per Enemy Hero hit.

[R] - Strength of the Light
Active; Shut 'Em Down!
Tirion leaps at target enemy hero, breaking free from any Crowd Control effect outside of Time Stop and Stasis instantly, and dealing 350 damage plus 25%-100% more depending on the severity of the CC broken out of(Only takes the highest value), inflicting a Trait Silence for 5 seconds, preventing the enemy's trait from having any effect during this time. Tirion is Unstoppable during his jump and for 0.5 seconds after hitting his target.

Cannot be cast while not under the effects of Crowd Control.

Cast Range - 4.5.
Cooldown - 100 seconds.
Cost - 100 Mana.
Generates - 5 Holy Power.

Level 1|Tier 1
(!)Zeal - Quest: Strike the same hero with consecutive Crusader Strikes to alter it.
Quest: Striking the same Enemy Hero with Crusader Strike twice in a row within 8 seconds grants 1 stack of Zealous Strength. Striking the same target again within 8 seconds grants another stack(and so on). Zealous Strength stacks up to 30.
Reward: Upon reaching 30 stacks of Zealous Strength, empower Crusader Strike, replacing it with Zeal.

(!)Blade of Justice - Quest: Strike distant enemies with Crusader Strike to empower it.
After casting Judgement, Tirion's next Crusader Strike within 3 seconds has 150% increased range.
Quest: Striking an enemy outside of Crusader Strike's normal range with Crusader Strike grants a stack of Just Strength, up to 30.
Reward: Upon reaching 30 stacks of Just Strength, empower Crusader Strike, replacing it with Blade of Justice.

(!)Lawbringer - Quest: Deal damage with Crusader Strike to alter it.
Quest: Every 3,000 Hero Damage from Crusader Strike causes it to deal an additional 40 damage, up to 120 bonus damage.
Reward: Upon dealing 12,000 Hero Damage with Crusader Strike, empower Crusader Strike, replacing it with Lawbringer.


Level 4|Tier 2
Eye for an Eye - Periodically gain Physical Armor that reflects damage.
Every 8 seconds, gain a stack of Eye for an Eye, increasing Physical Armor by 60 against the next Heroic basic attack to damage you. When a stack of Eye for an Eye is expended, the Enemy Hero that triggered it takes damage equal to the damage they did(Block factored in) back as Physical Damage.

Maximum Charges - 2.


Just Purpose - Generating or Spending full Holy Power grants additional bonuses.
Generating a 5th stack of Holy Power grants Tirion 15% increased movement speed for 2 seconds. Spending 5 stacks of Holy Power lowers the cooldowns of Tirion's abilities by 1 second.


Blessed Verdict - Templar's Verdict refunds mana based on Holy Power spent.
Templar's Verdict gives 6 Mana back per Holy Power spent to cast it, up to 30 Mana refunded.



Level 7|Tier 3
Vengeful Momentum - Basic Attacks lower the cooldown of Blade of Justice, Judgement.
Tirion's basic attacks lower the cooldown of Crusader Strike and Judgement by 1 second.


Sword of Light - Basic Attacks generate Holy Power
Tirion's basic attacks generate 1 Holy Power.


Greater Judgement - Judgement has an increased radius.
Judgement's radius is increased by 50%, up to 3.



Level 10|Tier 4
Wake of Ashes - Unleash a divine wave of energy from the Ashbringer in target direction.

Strength of the Light - Break free from a Crowd Control effect, striking an enemy.
See 'Strength of the Light' under Heroic Abilities above.



Level 13|Tier 5
Holy Wrath - Crusader Strike deals increased damage based on Tirion's missing health.
Crusader Strike's damage is increased by 1.5% per 1% of Tirion's missing health.
(Does not increase % Max Health damage of Lawbringer)


Judgement of Light - Judgement marks enemy targets to let Tirion heal.
Judgement marks all enemies hit with 5 stacks of Judgement of Light. A stack is consumed whenever Tirion deals damage to them, healing Tirion for 50 health. Stacks fade after 10 seconds. Maximum number of stacks is 5.


Word of Glory - Active: Consume Holy Power to heal Tirion.
See 'Word of Glory' under Secondary Abilities above.



Level 16|Tier 6
Retribution - Tirion gains strength whenever an ally dies nearby.
Tirion is instantly healed for 25% of his maximum health whenever a nearby allied hero dies, gaining 15 Armor and 15% increased damage for 8 seconds. Armor and Damage stack up to 4 times, with additional stacks of Retribution refreshing all prior stacks.

Range - 8.


Drop the Hammer - Enemies hit by the center of Judgement take additional damage, generate additional Holy Power.
Enemies hit by the center 25% of Judgement take an additional 80 damage and generate an additional point of Holy Power.


Final Verdict - Templar's Verdict strikes at full Holy Power are improved further.
Whenever you spend 5 Holy Power on a cast of Templar's Verdict, it deals an additional 70 damage and stuns its target for 0.75 seconds before applying its slow.



Level 20|Tier 7
Ashes to Ashes - Wake of Ashes has additional effects based on Holy Power spent/generated.
Wake of Ashes has a reduced cooldown based on Holy Power spent, reduced further the more Holy Power is spent(5 seconds at 0 Holy Power spent, increased by 5 seconds for every Holy Power spent; 30 seconds at 5 Holy Power.). Wake of Ashes additionally applies a heal over time based on Holy Power generated, healing Tirion for 100 health over 3 seconds per Holy Power generated.


Justice Enacted - Strength of the Light additionally stuns its target depending on CC broken free from, cooldown can be lowered.
Strength of the Light additionally stuns its target for 0.5 seconds per level of CC severity broken free from. If an enemy hero dies while under any CC effect caused by Light's Strength, its cooldown is reduced by 40 seconds.


Shield of Vengeance - Active: Gain an immense shield that deals damage on breaking.

Crusade - Active: Gain additional damage and faster cooldowns, increasing the more you cast abilities.
See 'Crusade' under Secondary Abilities above.

Tirion as a Death Knight, in one of the Death Knight armor sets. I would say Scourgelord, but Darion, and the same for Th***arian's Battlegear and Th***arian. And so, I vote for the Relentless Gladiator's Desecration PvP set. Alternate Tints: N/A

Light's Hammer and Consecration replaced with Crusader Strike and Judgement. Templar's Verdict altered heavily to use the Holy Power system.

Seal of Truth - Basic Attacks deal ~10% of their damage over the next three seconds; This stacks up to 5 times, or 50% damage over 3 seconds.'

Light's Hammer - 'Throw a blessed hammer to the target location, which arcs out divine lightning to nearby enemies, dealing ~200 damage a second split equally between enemy heroes. This hammer lasts for ~5 seconds, costs ~50 mana, and has a ~12 second cooldown.'

Consecration - 'Activate to consecrate the ground around you every second, dealing ~75 damage a second to enemies standing on it. This effect lasts for ~5 seconds, costs ~40 mana, and has a ~10 second cooldown.'

Templar's Verdict - 'Activate to make your next basic attack deal ~50% more damage and and do a special effect, dependant on your seal. Costs ~40 mana and has a ~7 second cooldown.
Seal Effects
Insight - Heals you for 5% of your maximum health.
Righteousness - Instead deals 75% more damage, and cleaves for 35% damage.
Truth - This attack deals an additional 20% damage over 3 seconds; This stacks with the normal effect, but does not count as 1/5 stacks.'

Talent tree heavily altered. The only talents to truly remain are as follows:
Strength of the Light: Renamed from 'Light's Strength'. Effect generally remained the same, but the damage increase based on level of CC escaped from is new.
Shield of Vengeance: Was level 13 talent, same effect, but only 25% maximum health shield.
Retribution: Retribution previously granted a 20% maximum health heal and 25% increased damage, with no armor. Otherwise functioned identically.
Justice Enacted: Renamed from 'True Justice', altered from a 1 second stun to a varying level of stun. Otherwise unchanged.

Other talents might share a name with a previous talent, but are different.

Maximum health at level '0' increased by 50, but attack damage at level '0' decreased by 5.

Lawbringer altered from giving %1 max health damage every threshold to 40 damage. Number damage boosts reduced to 3, because the 4th was when the ability transformed. Reduced each threshold to 3,000, from 5,000. Lawbringer used to read:
"Quest: Every 5,000 Hero Damage from Crusader Strike causes it to deal an additional 1% of its target's maximum health, up to 4% of the target's maximum health.
Reward: Upon dealing 20,000 Hero Damage with Crusader Strike, empower Crusader Strike, replacing it with Lawbringer."

Fixed a typo with Holy Wrath where it referred to Blade of Justice in its flavor text instead of Crusader Strike.

You know, I think adding overall Silence instead of Trait Silence would be better for Light's Strenght.

It's meant to be thematic, and... It's very powerful against some people, especially because it breaks you out of all CC besides Stasis.
As well as the fact that it's unique; We don't have a mechanic that prevents trait usage in any hero yet. I enjoy unique things, such as this.
