Ironclad Inventor

A streamlined look into how everyone's favorite(?) scrap-scrounging Swedish meatball could work in Heroes of the Storm, along with a few ideas that could improve his standings in Overwatch.

I thought that the ability to relocate existing turret without having to completely rebuild it would help give it a bit more versatility it the Overwatch main game. On a bit of a farther limb, the ability to spend scrap to improve abilities other than Armor Pack and the ability for high level Turrets to revert to weaker versions once broken could also be possible implementations.

Combat Trait

Ironclad
Torbjorn uses scrap instead of Mana, with a carrying capacity of 200 stacks. Torbjorn generates 1 scrap every 0.5 seconds, enemy minions drop Small Scrap (5 stacks) when killed, and enemy Heroes and Structures drop Large Scrap (15 stacks). Scrap is used to construct Armor Packs and empower his other abilities.

Ironclad can be toggled On and Off. When On, Torbjorn will empower some of his abilities at the cost of scrap.

Primary Abilities

Slag Cannon
Cooldown: 13 seconds

Fire 4 shards of molten metal in a fanning skillshot, each doing 84 damage to the first enemy it hits. Carries 3 charges that all restore simultaneously. While Ironclad is active, damage is increased by ?, at the cost of 5 Scrap per shot.

Deploy Turret
Cooldown: 7 seconds

Drop a Level 1 Turret that arms after a 1 second windup. Turret will target nearby enemies, prioritizing Heroes. If you already have a Turret in play, it will be transported to the new deployment location as is. However, Turret can't be re-deployed within 3 seconds of taking damage. Turret cannot be displaced.

Level 1: Deals 80 damage per second, has 800 Hp. Attack range is 4.5 meters.

Level 2: Deals 80 damage every 0.5 seconds, has 1300 Hp. Attack Range is 6.0 meters.

Level 3: Deals 80 damage every 0.5 seconds, has 1600 Hp and 20 Physical Armor. Attack Range is 6.0 meters. Will also fire a skillshot cluster of mini-rockets toward enemy Heroes every 3 seconds, dealing 210 damage in a small area around the first thing it hits.

Armor Pack
Scrap: 25

Throw an Armor Pack to a target location. Allied Heroes, and Torbjorn, can walk over these Packs to gain a permanent 160 Hp Sheild. Allies will gain 15 Physical Armor while this Shield is active. Can have up to 5 Armor Packs out on the Field at once, and Allies cannot pick up another Armor Pack until at least Half of their current one is lost. Deploying new Armor Packs (after 5) while old ones are still on the field will replace the oldest armor pack and refund you 10 Scrap.

Secondary Abilities

Repair Turret
Channel your Turret to Heal it for ? Hp per second. While Ironclad is active, The Turret is healed for an additional ? Hp per second, at the cost of 5 Scrap per second.

When the Turret is at full Hp, channeling it will start an Upgrade timer. Upgrading from Level 1 to Level 2 takes 5 seconds. While Ironclad is active, the Upgrade only takes 3 seconds, costing 10 Scrap upon successful completion.

Heroic Abilities

Molten Core
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Overheat your personal Forge, gaining 50 Scrap and a ? Hp Shield that grants 15 Armor. While active, Torbjorn gains 50% increased Attack Speed and gains the bonus effects of activating Ironclad without needing to spend Scrap. Also, your Level 2 Turrets will be automatically upgrades to a Level 3 Turret.

Deployable Refinery
Cooldown: 40 seconds

Summon a mini-refinery at a target location. Allied Heroes can interact with the Refinery to gain an Armor Pack Shield, with a 15 second usage cooldown. When Torbjorn uses the Refinery, he also gains 20 scrap. Refinery can be damaged and destroyed by enemies, but can be repaired in the same manner as Deploy Turret.

Level 1

Hard Work Pays Off [W]
Quest: Collecting Regeneration Orbs while Turret is active will increase it's Maximum Hp by 5, up to 100.
Reward: After reaching 100 bonus Hp, both your turret and Torbjorn gain an additional 200 Hp.

Research and Development [E]
Quest: Block Damage with Armor Packs.
Reward: After blocking 15000 Damage, Armor Packs now grant an additional 120 Shields.
Reward: After blocking 30000 Damage, Armor Packs now grant 25 Physical Armor.

Stainless Steel Finnish [E]
Picking up an Armor Pack will grant the wearer 40 Spell Armor against the next instance of Spell Damage from an enemy Hero, along with immunity to side effects associated to that ability. Bonus is lost if the target loses the shield before taking Spell Damage. Does not stack.

Level 4

Built to Last [W]
When a Level 2 or Level 3 Turret takes lethal damage, it will revert to a Level 1 Turret at full Hp instead of being destroyed.

Build 'Em Up... [E]
Your Turret And Friendly Structures can be granted Armor Packs by dropping them directly on them.

Iron Sights [Passive]
Gain 1.1 Attack Range while within range of your Turret.

Level 7

Swarf Spray [Q]
Hitting a single enemy Hero with at least 2 bullets of Slag Cannon lowers its Cooldown by 2 seconds. Each additional bullet increases this bonus by 1 second.
(Swarf is a general term for sparks and debris given off during metal and wood cutting. Yes, it does sound like dwarf, but that's not the point.)

Magnetic Grip [Passive]
Doubles the pick up range of Scrap. Taking Damage or being Rooted, Slowed or Silenced will no longer interrupt Repair Turret.

Overshot [Passive]
Torbjorn dodges 1 Heroic Basic Attack every 11 second. Recharges Twice as fast while Torbjorn is moving.

Level 10

HEROICS

Level 13

Plasma Arc [Q]
Slag Cannon and Basic Attacks now deal 50% splash damage to enemies near their targets.

Burning Shrapnel [Q]
Slag Cannon bullets will pierce one target.

...Break 'Em Down [Passive]
Deal 15% more damage to enemy Structures with your Basic Attack. Allied Heroes targeting the same Structure as your will also gain this bonus.

Two Hot For Ya? [Passive]
Deal ? damage per second to nearby enemies. Passive Scrap generation is doubled when damaging a Hero.

Level 16

Slagged! [Q/W]
Basic Attacking an enemy Hero who has been damaged your Turret or Slag Cannon within 1.5 second will slow the target by 20% for 1.5 seconds.

Life Saver [E]
Allied Heroes below 40% Total Hp can pick up Armor packs from 2.5 meters away.

Completion Date? [Active]
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Spend 100 Scrap to reduce your Heroic Ability Cooldown by 30 Seconds.

Level 20

Marvel of Engineering [R1]
Turret now remains permanently at Level 3 after Molten Core ends. Every enemy Hero Takedown during Molten Core increases it's duration by 2 seconds.

Heat of the Forge [R2]
Refinery Armor now stacks on top of Armor Packs. After 3 seconds of not taking damage, Refinery will begin to Heal for ? damage per second, and heal the Shields of allies near it for ? Hp per second.

The Lindholm Touch [D/E]
Increase Scrap Total to 300. Activating Ironclad will increase the cost of Armor Packs to 50 Scrap, but will cause Armor Packs to apply it's effects to all allies in a small area upon pick up.
