Valeera Sanguinar [WIP-Recently Overhauled (Updated)]

Gladiator of the Crimson Ring

"I am neither Horde nor Alliance. What has either faction ever done for me?"

When Valeera was young, her family was killed by bandits. She survived both the bandits and the Scourge, seeking out a living by stealing what she needed; however, when trying to steal a shaman's talisman, she was caught and jailed. The day before she was to implement her escape plan, Valeera was sold to Rehgar Earthfury so she could join Bloodeye Redfist and Broll Bearmantle in team combat in the Crimson Ring. Soon after, Bloodeye was killed and Broll told Valeera the stories of both Rehgar and Bloodeye, and her story begun on a path that will change the lives of many...

I chose the period where she was cursed by Kathra'Natir to base her layout on.

Icons are a WIP, so don't mind the mix and match for the time being.
Secondary Abilities are the replaced versions during Mark of Kathra'Natir.

Combat Trait

1
Unbreakble Bonds
Cooldown: 30 seconds

Your bonds of friendship strengthen your resolve. Gain 2.5% ability power and 3% attack speed for each friendly hero nearby who are above 25% health (To a maximum of 15%). You also passively move 5% faster when near friendly units and heroes.
I went for a trait like this for a reason, in lore she saved Varian Wrynn's and Broll Bearmantle's lives many times showing that she will always fiercely defend her own and go over her own limit to do so, she has always been one who has looked out for others.

*changed from a defensive as it didn't suit her role. (Thanks for feedback)

Primary Abilities

1
Duel Slash
Mana: 45
Cooldown: 10 seconds

You slash in front of you in a small arc dealing 33 (+14 per level) damage to the closest enemy and 21 (+12 per level) damage to the 2nd closest enemy. The primary target will take a further 22 (+14 per level) damage if no 2nd target is in range.
The slash happens over 0.25 seconds, with Valeera striking with both weapons, left to right and right to left.
2
Fel Burst
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Deal 26 (+13 per level) damage to a target area leaving a pool of Fel Fire on the ground for 2 seconds and will surge every 0.5 seconds for 15 (+9 per level) damage to nearby enemies.

Valeera taps into her demonic curse for a short period and launches a charge of fel energy out of her body.
The pool isn't perfectly round and will be a more "impact" shape.
The pool is around the same size as Kerrigan's Impaling Blades.
There is a 0.25 second delay before the first tick of damage.
3
Drain Energy
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 15 seconds

Siphon energy from an enemy and drain 4% Resource from the target as well as reduce resource and health regeneration by 15% (+0.21 per level) for 7 (+0.19 per level) seconds. Using this ability will heal Valeera for 3% of her health.
Resource meaning Mana, Energy, Fury. Have yet to tweak to accommodate Illidan and similar heroes.
The range of this ability is similar range to an unaltered Zagara basic attack.

Secondary Abilities

1
Fel Slash
Mana: 45
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Slash the closest 3 targets in a large frontal cone for 40 (+21 per level) damage and burn them with Fel Energy for another 17 (+12 per level) over the next 10 seconds reducing in damage per enemy hit by 3 (+3 per level) damage. This ability does 5% more initial damage for each enemy missing.
The cone size is 60% of the unaltered Stitches slam ability.
2
Fel Beam
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Target a ranged enemy and channel a beam of Fel Fire for 3 seconds damaging all enemies hit by it for 100 (+31 per level) per second, this ability reduces in damage for each additional enemy hit by 5%, if the target moves out of range the cast is cancelled. Fel Beam will leave a line of Fel Desecrated Earth which will cause 33 (+12 per level) damage to enemies who are standing on it as well as providing vision, this effect lasts 2.5 seconds. You move 75% slower when casting.
The beam is similar width as Raynor's Penetrating Round.
3
Touch of Kathra'Natir
Mana: 60
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Touch an enemy with the power of Kathra'Natir reducing resource regeneration by 50% for 9 seconds as well as drain 7% of their resource. You cause them to be marked by Kathra'Natir causing their ability cooldowns to increase by 1.25 seconds for 3 (+0.05 per level) seconds.
Touch of Kathra'Natir has increased range, around 4/5 of a Nova snipe.

Touch of Kathra'Natir will cause a Demonic Rune to appear over their forehead and visually show a pillar of fell energy being siphoned from their body.

Heroic Abilities

1
Mark of Kathra'Natir
Mana: 15 per second
Cooldown: 120 seconds
(An internal cooldown is triggered on use, but only appears after 12 seconds have passed)

You give into the curse upon you transforming into a demonic version of yourself, increasing your speed by 30% and reducing crowd control effects by 50% as well as replacing your abilities.

Remaining in this form for more than 8 (+0.05 per level) seconds or until mana depletion will result in your appetite for energy consumption to increase drastically causing you to attack anyone in sight, weather its friend or foe. Using this ability twice in a row (prior to the 12 second timer) will cause its duration to be reduced by 65%.

Notes on Ability

The speed includes all types (Unsure) movement, attack, regeneration etc.

When in the state of Frenzy (Past timer and into attack all state) you cannot not be stopped until you are killed, you also gain 20% increase to movement speed and take 75% more damage from all sources. Valeera will more likely attack her own than the enemy in this state.

This form will cause her appearance to change drastically, changing her hair, skin, armor tones into a far more darker shade as well as causing demonic runes to burn on her skin, her vocals will also be spoken in demonic and causes the immediate environment around Valeera to darken with Fel Energy.

Cooldowns change slightly per new ability.

Unsure how you would track its duration, perhaps through a unique timer bar on the ui, a graphical indicator (vision shifting to darker style) or something similar.

I feel like she deperately needs a mobility skill, maybe her 2nd heroic could be something like a Kassadin ult from League of legends. But instead of increasing mana for each dash/blink/teleport used before the cooldown, she deals damage to herself. it should have a low cooldown of around 4 to 5 seconds.

Life Saver trait does not really make sense for an assassin, which I presume is what Valeera would be, nor does it sync with her kit. Either go full assassin, or change her to be a more support oriented character just for the sake of keeping the trait.

Changed trait to suit her role better, also adding a few talents which will be tweaked constantly. Slightly tweaked her abilities as well.

Thankyou jrg7777 for the feedback after thinking it through that trait would be better off on a support or specialist role.

I appreciate the comments and feedback and after re-looking at it with a fresh mind i myself have condemned it to be boring and flat out undeserving of being called a hero.

Recent overhaul to make her more Valeera and less rogue like. Still WIP, im unsure what i was thinking when moving towards the burst type stealth, im now attempting to steer her in a different direction.

I personally prefer Garona Halforcen as the WoW Rogue-like hero if I had to choose between the two. I even made my own hero concept of her which I won't link here because I don't want to, well, be a d*ck and try to take readers or viewers from your hero concept or anything. But if you allow me then I will. I could use your opinions and views as well.

Anyway, this hero doesn't stick out from the other Assassin heroes and overall looks very boring to play and here are the reasons why I think so; first of all, while it makes sense to give her Stealth as her Trait I'm afraid it would be too much if we had three Assassin heroes (Nova and Zeratul being two of them) with the exact same Stealth/Cloak Trait in the game. I gave my Garona the Trait to choose between three different poisons with their own effects she can switch every 1 minute or so. Rogues are about poisons as well, after all. Funnily enough I also gave her Fan of Knives ability. The Heroic Abilities of yours are, to be frank, boring, uninteresting and underwhelming. They don't actually feel 'heroic'. Those can't be even compared to ANY of the current heroes' Heroic Abilities at all. They look like basic abilities. That's how lame these ones are. All the abilities here are bland and boring in general.

And lastly, having that kind of Special Mount feels pointless and that you just added it just for the sake of having it. Actually, it should be an ability if anything rather than her 'mount' mode. There's no reason not to make her able to ride a horse or something.

The movement speed buff on stealth seems to be too strong, considering the fact that she remains stealthed while mounted

Sinister Strike does A LOT of damage, and should probably be adjusted. Fan of Knives being a chance to slow is silly, even if it's trying to replicate Crippling, chance effects are unreliable and don't add fun but luck. Cloak of Shadows is odd as well, it should just make you immune to abilities for a duration and maybe decrease damage taken, as opposed to a by far worse Evasion. Ambush simply promotes a bland assassin that waits for ultimate to burst efficiently. Really, the problem I have with her is she's just entirely too bland. You could apply this kit to any old Rogue in the WarCraft universe. Also, the Ambush Lv. 20 talent needs clarification, how long is the range increase (in seconds), or is this 75% decrease permanent?

Looks good so far, better than the majority of the Vancleef/Valeera concepts so far, mainly due to a lack of a combo point system. That said, I think the ability damage is a bit high. Keep in mind that Nova's snipe is 100(+32).
