Vol Jin

Leader of the Darkspear Tribe

The shadow hunter Vol'jin, son of Sen'jin, chieftain of the Darkspear tribe, rightful ruler of the Echo Isles, and a staunch ally of former Warchief Thrall. After the Echo Isles were conquered by the traitorous sorcerer Zalazane, he resided in Orgrimmar at the side of the Warchief, later fighting alongside him during the Battle for the Undercity. After years of exile, Vol'jin led an attack against the Echo Isles to end Zalazane's evil rule and retake the lands that Thrall had promised them.

Switch between the Loa teachings you know. Switching requires 1.5 seconds

Legba: Passive: Increase your movement speed by 8%

Loukou: Passive increase health regeneration by 40%

Primary Abilities

Soul Spear
Cooldown: 9 seconds

Cost: 50 Mana

Throw a soul spear in a line. The spear can penetrate through 3 minions or 1 hero dealing 70(+12/level) damage

Hunter Background
Cooldown: 4 seconds

Cost: 25 Mana

Place a trap on the ground. The trap is visible to nearby enemies for 4 seconds and then turns invinsible. The trap immobilizes an enemy hero for 2.5 and damages them for 25(+10/level) over 3 seconds. Up to three traps can be placed at any given time. If you place another, the first one disappears.

Spirit heal
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Cost: 40 Mana

Heal an ally or yourself for 100 (+10/level). Increase movement speed by 10% for 2 seconds

Vengeance of the forest trolls
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Cost:100 Mana

Summon 5  headhunter trolls who ride  raptors that deal 150(25/level) damage to any enemy that they come in contact with front of them. They move in a straight line. Thre of them appear in front of Vol Jin and Two from behind

Transcendence
Cooldown: 110 Mana

Cost: 110 Mana

After a cast of 2 seconds transfer yourself in the spirit world. In the spirit world you attack your enemies soul directly, ignoring any shields they have. You can only use your first ability and your basic attacks. You are invulnerable  to all damamage for the duration. Lasts 5 seconds.

Reduce the cost of Soul Spear by 25%

2. Hunter of old
The trap is no longer visible to enemies.

3. Regenerative essence
Reduce the cooldown of Spirit heal by 2 seconds

4. Demolitionist
Basic attacks against structures destroy 1 ammo and deal an additional 10% damage

Tier 2 (Level 4) Talents

1. Dambala teachings
Active: Transform in to a serpent, cloaking yourself and increasing your movement speed by 15% for 3 seconds. cooldown: 45 seconds

2.Mercenary Lord
Non-Boss mercenaries near your hero deal 50% more damage. Reduce damage taken by minion and mercenaries by 50%

3. A little drop of poison:
Increase the damage of Hunter Background traps by 40%

4. Resoureful killer
Remove the mana cost of Hunter Background

Tier 3 (Level 7) Talents

1. Devotion to all
Change instantly between your Loa teachings

2. Voodoo reach
Increase the range of spirit heal by 30%

3.Improved envenom
The damage of the normal envenom is increased by 10% and its duration is 10% shorter

4. Certain demise
Enemies damaged by Soul spear have their movement speed reduced by 20% for 2 seconds

Tier 4 (Level 10) Talents

Tier 5 (Level 13) Talents

1.Teachings of Ogoun
Passive: Increase your attack speed by 20%

2. Inspirational heal
Increase the movement speed increase of Spirit heal to 20%

3. No escape
Increase the immobilization of Hunter Background to 4 seconds

4.Spell Shield

Tier 6 (Level 16) Talents

1. Da voodoo shuffle
Reduce any movement imparing effects by 50% lasts 6 seconds
Cooldown: 30 seconds

2. Penetrating Spear
Increase the penetration of Soul spear to 4 minions and 2 heroes

3. Blood for Blood

4. Veteran shadow hunter.
Can now have two passive Loa teachings active at the same time

Tier 7 (Level 20) Talents

1. The armies of the darkspear
Summon 8 headhunter trolls. The trolls ride venomhide raptors that each one leave a poison gas clood while riding, dealing 5% of the current health of any enemy in it every 1.5 second. The line is 20% longer and 30% wider (due to the extra trolls)

2. Beyond this world
While in the spirit world your basic attacks deal 15% more damage and slow the attack speed of enemy heroes by 40% for 3 seconds. Increase the duration to 7 seconds.

3. Teachings of Bwonsamedi
activates by itself when you die. Decreases the death timer by 25% and makes your heroic cooldown be ready 30% faster

4. Spirit Guardian: Leave behind you a spirit form with 40% of your current health for 4 seconds. While the spirit is alive Vol'jin is immune to all damage and moves 10% faster.
Cooldown: 50 seconds

Out of the many Vol'jin concepts i've read, yours is the most interesting. Also, I think increasing the damage of envenom but increasing the duration is kind of counterproductive, unless it's the damage per second that you increase. And maybe replace bolt of the storm with something more interesting like a spirit form sprint (invulnerable + sprint). Hoping to see a troll in the nexus soon and with a raptor mount to match.

Interesting concept, I like. I do believe that in your description for the trap is supposed to say 'invisible' rather than 'invincible'.

It's ok. I thought of that while i was writing but some of the Loas are very obscure and i thought that Shango's blessing would fit with Vol'jins specialist.

I have an idea for a third portion of his trait is you like it. It is a Loa teaching from Shango, the Loa of thunder and lightning, and when this trait is activated, Vol'jin gains either area of effect or arcing lightning bolts on every 4th basic attack but this is hard to know because i don't know if he is ranged or not. In any case, you can choose to include it if you like or just consider it or even ignore it. It's just an idea i had due to i have read that the darkspear worship Shango and he gives the witchdoctors the ability to throw a lightning "spear". Good concept and have a nice day. :)
