[WIP] Peon

The lazy worker


A melee specialist that has the role of a utility provider for his team, including construction and maintenance of buildings, granting vision control on the map, supporting allies by building healing wells or preventing them from being attacked.

Peon can do well on it's own but in order to unleash his full potential he requires great team coordination.

Peon has vast talent diversity which allows him to have many different play styles including Pushing, Fighting/Ganking, Supporting and Protecting the team and more.

A side note:

After I finished working on the abilities and on most of the talents I decided to look up the HotS subreddit for all the posts that included Peon.
Obviously I've noticed that many people thought of similar ideas. So while I don't try to be original, but just create a fun hero for all of us, I can reassure you that I, just like the others, thought of all the abilities by myself, if it matters to you. :)
For example I have a couple of other hero concepts ready and yesterday I thought "What if there's a hero who can create long lasting impassable terrain? Where can I combine it? Oh! Peon!". That's how Barricade was born!

Combat Trait

1
Resource collector
Peon can collect resources:
Lumber from Trees and Structures. Each attack yields 1 Lumber.
Gold from Minions, Mercenaries and Heroes. On death each unit drops the same amount of gold as the experience it yields.

Lumber is used to Construct structures.
Gold can be returned to the Core to reward the team with experience.

All Gold being carried by Peon is lost upon death.

While working Peon gets tired and will fall asleep after every 1000 Lumber gathered.
Sleep lasts 30 seconds. While asleep Peon regenerates health at an increased rate and has an 80% damage reduction.
Allies can interrupt it early.

Ally hero that clicks on Peon will wake him up, granting both heroes a 20% movement speed buff that lasts 20 seconds. In addition Peon receives a 40% attack speed buff for the same duration.

Primary Abilities

Construct
Opens a new abilities actionbar.

Construction time: 3 seconds

Peon constructs a structure at target location.

Opens three new construction options.

Repair
Cooldown: 1 second
Cost: 1 Lumber per second

Repair target Building or Catapult for 10% of it's max HP every second.

Lay Mine
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Cost: 10 Lumber

Lays a mine at target location that becomes active and invisible after a short time.
Enemies that step into the mine's radius trigger it and get hit for 250 (+5% per level) damage.
Lasts 90 seconds.

Secondary Abilities

1
Construct: Tower
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Cost: 10 Lumber

Peon constructs a Tower that attacks nearby enemies.
Lasts for 120 seconds. Does 50% of a regular towers damage, has the same health, ammunition recharge rate and targeting priorities.

Can have multiple towers.

Construct: Barracks
Cooldown: 40 seconds
Cost: 30 Lumber

Peon constructs a Barracks that produce 1 Grunt to march the closest lane each 12 seconds.
Grunts hit fot 38.48 (+4% per level), deal 10.4 (+4% per level) damage to nearby enemies every second and take 50% less damage from non-Heroic sources.
Max 3 Barracks.

Construct: Barricade
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Cost: 10 Lumber

Peon constructs a Barricade that serves as impassable terrain and can be destroyed by the enemies.
Has 500 (+5% per level) health.

Heroic Abilities

Chaos Peon
Cooldown: 90 seconds
Cost: None

Peon drinks Fell and becomes corrupted.
For 20 seconds his attack speed is increased by 50%, movement speed by 30%, health regeneration is tripled and he burns enemies around him.

Demolish
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Cost: None
Channel time: 1 second per every 500 health the structure has.

While channeling completely destroy an enemy structure.

Special Mount

Miner's Tunnels
Cooldown: 40 seconds
Peon doesn't have a mount. Instead he can travel through a tunnel to every structure he made.

Talents

Level 1:


Back to work - Increases the amount of resources gathered by 100%.
Accident insurance - Every 10 seconds Peon receives a stack of Block reducing the damage taken from the next Hero Basic Attack by 75%. Stores up to 4 charges.
Construct: Vision Ward - Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Peon places a visible ward on the ground that reveals a large area around it for 45 seconds. Can be destroyed by enemies with 2 Basic Attacks. Stores up to 2 charges.
Construct: Fountain - Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Peon builds a fountain at target location. Allies can click the fountain to replenish their health and mana. The amount is half of regular fountain's. Has 3 charges.

Level 4:


Spiked Barricades - Enemies that come in melee range with the barricade are slowed by 20% (lasts 1 second) and are damaged for 60 (+4% per level) each second.
Improved Barricades - Barricades have 100% more health and vision radius.
Booby Trap - When the barricade is destroyed nearby enemies are damaged for 250 (+5% per level).
Cluster Bombs - Increases Mine's explosion radius by 100% and causes it to apply a DoT that deals 75% of it's damage over 4 seconds.
Healing Ward - Cooldown: 60 seconds
Places a healing ward on the ground that heals allies in an area for 2% of their max Health every second for 10 seconds.

Level 7:


Ensnare - Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Peon tosses a net on a target enemy Hero and roots them for 1.5 seconds.
Deprecated due to Zul'Jin being released and having nearly the same talent.
Snare Trap - Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Peon places a trap at target location that becomes invisible after 1.5 seconds. Enemies that step into the trap become snared for 1.5 seconds.
Magical Sentry - Your Towers now reveal invisible units.
Warcry - Grunts promote all nearby friendly Minions and Mercenaries increasing their maximum health by 15%.
Unstable Mines - Increases the Mine's damage by 100% and causes it knock enemies back a short distance.

Level 10:


CHAOS PEON

Cooldown: 90 seconds
Cost: None

DEMOLISH

Cooldown: 20 seconds
Cost: None
Channel time: 1 second per every 500 health the structure has.

Level 13:


Tower Artillery - Increases the range of the tower's cannons by 50% and their damage by 100%.
Fire Shots - Towers shoot burning projectiles that cause a 75% splash AoE damage around the target hit.
The ammunition recharge rate is increased by 100%.
Rally Banners - Towers have 50% increased health and grant a 15% movement speed buff to all allied Heroes around in a large area.
Reinforce - Repair speed is increased by 100%, resource cost decreased by 50% and gives a permanent shield to units when repaired to full health. Max shield is 1/3 of the unit's max health.

Level 16:



Level 20:


Fury of the Storm - Every 5 seconds, your Grunt's next basic attack will deal an additional 20 damage to the target, and 20 damage to all nearby Minions and Mercenaries.

Skins

By many requests there should totally be an SCV skin from SC.

Shame on you! Peon is not lazy! Peon is core of orcish society! He gathers resources, builds your base and defends it! What you do? Nothing! You can only give commands to your units!
But concept is great and I want peon in HotS!
